actually taekwondo and karate are very similar if you go to karate when your high belt you will be the same in karate because your already more advanced then anyone else

Kyokushin yes it is far more tougher than Taekwondo but I guess it's just different cultures, but you see, we are more nimble than you think in Taekwondo, yes you can smash us, but thats if you catch us first

@wutka1990 Most competitions are like that: fighters from white belt to blue belt with red stripe in one group, and those with black belts in other group, only the major competitions have every belt in onegroup, like national or world/europian championship and olympics and A-tournaments, begginers mostly lack experience, so little to worry about =P
@wutka1990 You should definitely go for it! They put you with your belt, and you won't have to fight with anyone except for those who are of the same level of experience. Also, your master will not have you fight until he believes you are ready to do so. You'll do great! It's so much fun! Plus, with hard work and dedication, you will eventually be one of those people that can do those kicks! :) Have fun!
TKD is dynamic and very nice but they should incorporate striking to the face with gloves (like in Full Contact Karate). I know that there's full contact TKD but it's rare that such events take place. Very few TKD fighters know how to use their hands and then when facing a skilled Karateka or a Thai boxer, they get beaten easily inside a clinch or simply out-boxed.

Show a Karate Fighter beating anyone, and its "See how good Karate is?" Its the Practitioners who tend to give them bad names. Thai guys are the worst i find.

And we practice Leg Kicks an aweful lot. The way i see it; Show a Karate Person a Karate Fighter losing to another art, and its "Thats the worst Karate Guy ive ever seen." Show a Karate Fighter beating anyone, and its "See how good Karate is?" Its the Practitioners who tend to give them bad names. Thai guys are the worst i find.

Yes, in TKD (wtf) you only use your legs and they are powerfull, buy you don't use lowkicks, therefore u're not used to getting kicks to your legs, meanwhile a person that practice KyokoshinKarate is rly used to lowkicks and therefore they can take alot more kicks to the legs than most TKD ppl can. i don't think this type of martial art can be used somewhere different unless a TKD competetion
1. They use helmets and body armors and they still can't take such a damage (they fall on the ground like a babies when they get punched)
2. They DO NOT have a guard lol
3. if they fight against a kyokushin fighter they'll get knocked in 5 secs , and probably get killed by the powerful punch (even if they use helmets and body armor)
