Job loss is a trend. Reid's point was that the trend of job losses steadily got lower and lower. He's not celebrating the fact jobs were lost, you hopeless morons. He was celebrating the fact less jobs were lost than the months before when 800000 jobs were being lost every month.

The trend is the amount of jobs lost a MONTH. The fact Bush created 3 million jobs in his 8 years (as supposed to 23 million under Clinton, but setting it aside) does not mean he didn't drop any jobs.

It may be "bad" concerning current conditions for more jobs to be lost, even if less than before, but concerning future job numbers, it's a good sign.

And Reid was quite right, seeing as private sector jobs have been made net each month since March.

@nafaidni That is does not make sense...lower interest rates caused people to get loans they couldn't pay back? If you can't afford the monthly payment you can't afford the monthly payment. It's a clear dollar figure you get which is irrelevant to the interest rate. Creating programs to encourage people to take out sub prime loans rather than fixed rate loans is another matter, however. Fannie and Freddie's collapse occurred due to Democrats blocking reforms and insisting nothing was wrong.

Read more carefully-- the 600k+ a month job losses occured in the last months of Bush Jr. By the time Reid made this statement, the job losses per month had been reduced to less than 160k a month. And they have been reduced to less than 36,000 a month now. This is progress for the nation's economy. Everyone except you naysaying nattering negativistas understands this.
