@zamora721 Capucine (1928-1990) was a French actress and model. She also appeared in the first Pink Panther (1963) movie and What's new Pussycat (1965) both with Peter Sellers. Sadly she commited suicide while in Switzerland in 1990.
@malgray2 Before you post something like this I think you should read up on what you are saying. Germaine Lefebvre, / Capucine Was one of the greatest models to come out of France in the early part of the 20th century. She was great friends with Audrey Hepburn that was also a model in her younger years. Thank You
@zamora721 Look up Actor and Model Capucine and then go to
Capucine Wikipedia. You can read her biography, and all of the movies she performed in. Capucine was born Germaine Lefebvre, 6 January 1928 in Toulon France. A great Model and Actress with over 25 movies, TV, Appearances and modeling.. Sad to see such a lovely lady with such talent to die alone in such a manner from depression. At the time of her death she lived Lausanne Switzerland. Thank You for your interest. Sir David
Hey Pequinto - good job! Alberta Forest Ranger here - been to Alaska several times both for pleasure and the business of fighting fire! You are more than welcome around any campfire I sit by!

This song was rewritten into "North to Rhodesia"in the 1960s by a Rhodesian songwriter...Rhodesia and Alaska were explored
and settled by Europeans at about the same timeand when Rhodesia lost its independence in 1980 there were about 300,000 Rhodesians...similiar in population to Alaska.
Since I left Rhodesia in 1981 I have been looking for a frontier society...maybe I will try Alaska...New Jersey just doesn't do it !!
hey love the clip and song. i live in Alaska and it's too big to spoil it. the best state ever.and if you ever get the chance to visit Alaska you should
A classic John Wayne movie and accompaying musical score... Johnny Horton has another great song about Alask, "When It's Springtime In Alaska, It's Forty Below." Come see The Great Land.
well done pequinito,a while since i saw this, used to love the cowboys, but alas not in fashion anymore(like my clothes)your captions add a new dimention to the film.i am one of the army of john wayne fans.when the americans do their pilgrimage to where they filmed rio-grande near malaga i like to follow all the 4x4s it looks like an invasion..keep up the good work.
Thank you, roswellnw0, yes it's hard to believe this movie came out in 1960 because it's still so fresh even today. They don't make 'em like John Wayne any more :)
Wow! Pequinito, this video of yours exceeds all my expectations. Your singing is outstanding. I like it even better than the original by Johnny Horton. And it's so good that you narrate all that story in just three minutes and sixteen seconds. 5 stars to you, Pequinito! Thanks for sharing this video with your fans!
Romina, you are always so kind and generous in your praise, thank you once again! Johnny Horton is one of my country idols, he can sing with so much energy as in this song, or with such tenderness in love songs. He died so tragically just when his career was taking off. This is my heartfelt tribute to him.

It is sad to see people spreading rumors about Capucine , Germaine Lefebvre..
Before you post something like that read about her life, and history in Wikipedia.
She was one of the most beautiful models to come out of France.

@malgray2 Capucine Born, Germaine Lefebvre. First time I heard that and I knew her since the early 1960's.
Where did you get that? She was a French Fashion Model and Actress.
That is like me not knowing you and coming up with something like that about you.
I was going to get real dirty and since I am a god fearing man i figured I would be nice. David

Why does this version sound so different, this doesn't sound like the Johnny Horton North to Alaska I've always heard since i was a kid.

The guy going by Pequinito re-recorded the voice part of it. He did a good job, as far as I'm concerned.
