It's nice that they found a cost effective way to upgrade their T-72/80 series, but unless they devise some means of intercepting incoming rounds the T-90 will just be scattered across the field like all it's predecessors. Low profiles and high ground speed are not protection against ATGMs, ground radar, or kinetic penetrators. And not all missiles will be confused by their countermeasures.
T90 is equipped with nadika, which is basically a radar stealth thing like on airplanes which make it invisible for radar (ground radar or radar of apachee longlow e.g.). Also the new era can withstand most western ATGMS since it can deflect tandem chargers. Only russia uses tripple tandem charges which would be able to destroy the t90. kinetic penetrators are also proven to be not effective against k5/relikt. russian era is the only which is able to defeat APFSDS at the moment.
Finally, nealry 90% of all the idiots of Iraq died like rats from air. All that was left were mostly Republican guard divisions, who had something from the Iran-Iraq war.
Also, what if a heat does pierce the turret? Ammunition will go off. With only a few ATGMs, bad ballistics, bad fire control and unable to catch up in ballistics, T-90 is all but useless up close. It's also 90s era equipment. Not all the best. It has the advantage of a more-ranged ATGM - Besides that? Screwed. Also, Iraq had T-72M1s (which are upgraded to A standards due to the M1 kit VS the M.) Secondly, Iraq had trained crews from the Iraq Iran war (Not that I say these were "the best.")
Abrams has superior fire control, ballistics and in many places, better armor that is still classified. T-90 needs add ons, reactive armor and has laser guided ATMGs at a range of 6km. Why? Because when this tank fires its ATGMs, it can have time to run away! Hell, even the Indian Arjun is officially "better" than exported T-90Ss. Face it: Comparing wolves to pigs who killed innocent wolves is sick. Russia would fall under the pressure of American might.

I would pick the abrams over the T-90 but there both pretty good. The challenger however was a complete replica of the abrams but still poses a good fight. However the abrams still surpasses any other tanks with state of the art technology.

@frotttiop Leopard uses a diesel engine where as the Abrams uses a Gas-turbine engine. It gets shit for range and low-end torque, but we can use pretty much anything liquid that burns to run the Abrams, where as the Leopard is stuck using only low volatility fuels like kerosene and bio-diesel.

It is sad, but Russians had to develop T-90 on the basis of T-72, which is older and less powerful basis than T-80. Ukrainians did amazing job with OPLOT: T-80UD grew to a completely new and powerful tank: it retained only same gun, even basic chasis of the T-80 is upgraded! Engine - new, transmission - new, turret - new, electronics - new, new armor, etc. Russians has to develop Armata to catch up...

@brandonbig1 Nah, its a good tank but no good for sustained battles. Its too reliant on fuel convoys to stay in the battle for long with its thirsty Jet engines. German Leopard every time. They can litterally build a tank out of two destroyed ones in a matter of hours because of its modular components. Also very quick better on fual and great armour. Easiest tanks to drive out of the lot too. A kid can drive on with half hours training. (ALthough not very well).

Further he said that instead of spending 118 million rubels on a T90 they should rather buy 3 Leopard 2s.

They just need to make a new model from scratch while keeping the low profile. Having a lot of fancy gizmos inside is one thing but not getting hit is more important.

T90 is equipped with nadika, which is basically a radar stealth thing like on airplanes which make it invisible for radar (ground radar or radar of apachee longlow e.g.). Also the new era can withstand most western ATGMS since it can deflect tandem chargers. Only russia uses tripple tandem charges which would be able to destroy the t90. kinetic penetrators are also proven to be not effective against k5/relikt. russian era is the only which is able to defeat APFSDS at the moment.

Also, what if a heat does pierce the turret? Ammunition will go off. With only a few ATGMs, bad ballistics, bad fire control and unable to catch up in ballistics, T-90 is all but useless up close. It's also 90s era equipment. Not all the best. It has the advantage of a more-ranged ATGM - Besides that? Screwed. Also, Iraq had T-72M1s (which are upgraded to A standards due to the M1 kit VS the M.) Secondly, Iraq had trained crews from the Iraq Iran war (Not that I say these were "the best.")

Abrams has superior fire control, ballistics and in many places, better armor that is still classified. T-90 needs add ons, reactive armor and has laser guided ATMGs at a range of 6km. Why? Because when this tank fires its ATGMs, it can have time to run away! Hell, even the Indian Arjun is officially "better" than exported T-90Ss. Face it: Comparing wolves to pigs who killed innocent wolves is sick. Russia would fall under the pressure of American might.

I would pick the abrams over the T-90 but there both pretty good. The challenger however was a complete replica of the abrams but still poses a good fight. However the abrams still surpasses any other tanks with state of the art technology.

@frotttiop Leopard uses a diesel engine where as the Abrams uses a Gas-turbine engine. It gets shit for range and low-end torque, but we can use pretty much anything liquid that burns to run the Abrams, where as the Leopard is stuck using only low volatility fuels like kerosene and bio-diesel.
Our penetrators are also far superior to yours! :P

It is sad, but Russians had to develop T-90 on the basis of T-72, which is older and less powerful basis than T-80. Ukrainians did amazing job with OPLOT: T-80UD grew to a completely new and powerful tank: it retained only same gun, even basic chasis of the T-80 is upgraded! Engine - new, transmission - new, turret - new, electronics - new, new armor, etc. Russians has to develop Armata to catch up...

@brandonbig1 Nah, its a good tank but no good for sustained battles. Its too reliant on fuel convoys to stay in the battle for long with its thirsty Jet engines. German Leopard every time. They can litterally build a tank out of two destroyed ones in a matter of hours because of its modular components. Also very quick better on fual and great armour. Easiest tanks to drive out of the lot too. A kid can drive on with half hours training. (ALthough not very well).

@frotttiop it may be a german gun, but the usa makes the best ammo, in fact the only ammo designed to defeat over 750mm rha vs ke is the m829a3, power, only the t80 has a better power to weight ratio and the abrams turbine can run on low quality kerosine while the leo2 has to run on diesel, i can make fuel in my kitchen that could power the abrams, and plus we have near unlimited gas at this time, but by no means is the leo2 anything lower than 3 on the list, 1and 2 are the abrams and chally2

Nice vid but the tank itself is a rolling pile of junk. The T90 is like the 17th modification of the original T-72 design. Russia wants to spend 500 billions on new tanks but their own industry isnt able to deliver good products. Alexander Postnikov, commander of russian groundforces himself stated that russian build quality is far behind nato standards and even the chines do better. Further he said that instead of spending 118 million rubels on a T90 they should rather buy 3 Leopard 2s.

They just need to make a new model from scratch while keeping the low profile. Having a lot of fancy gizmos inside is one thing but not getting hit is more important.

T-72 was not that bad, but you just can't think a 70s old tank without modernization and bad crew can beat a modern M1 with best equipment and training. Real challange is russian T-90A vs M1A2.
