  • Terry Pratchett is such an incredible and ingenious man!

  • This master of ceremonies guy looks exactly like how I imagined Ponder Stibbons to look like.

  • @acakaranovic from what I hear Ponder is being increasingly based on him.

  • Mister Terry Prachett rules!

  • I did not know he had pca.

  • Enunciate!

  • Terry Pratchett is absolutely brilliant, bless him.

  • Hello, fans of Terry Pratchett!

I begin to write symphonic music. I knew about him from screen version of his first Discworld`s novel "The colour of magic". Since then I had read half of his books. I didn`t remain indifferent and wrote the number of symphonic suite "Images" - Absurd Discworld.

I suggest your attention the video with my music on my channel ra2006ra "Pratchett" or h_t_t_p_:_/_/_w_w_w_._youtube.com/watch?v=6NbM0faHptk (delete all "_").

  • Because of some cause servise of youtube don't let the possibility to send video-responses more than one time. I can`t hear your applause, that's why don't estimate my video if my music is liked you. If my music is liked you, help me to spread it to your friends.

I hope you'll like my music, that's why this music was written for you!

  • My Hero ...

  • A hat? What is this, TF2U?

  • i agree, questioning authority is our responsibility, the government however feels threatened at this. The reason behind their fear is because they have been lying to us. So we should look up whatis-theplan

  • @somonuel It also doesn't help that the government is often terrified to telling the truth due to any "yes" or "no" answer being blown out of proportion by press. The government thus rarely even lies....worse, they rarely say anything at all. (but another author covered that...I think it was an Asimov story where they had some mathematics that filtered out meaningless bits from government reports....7 page documents were reduced to 3 sentances...)

  • @twdarkflame I do believe your right about that being Asimov, can't remember the exact novel. Heinlein touched on some ideas too.

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story they had some mathematics that filtered out meaningless bits from government reports....7 page documents were reduced to 3 sentences"

The basic science was Psychohistory (prediction of population actions by determining the genetic-motivational qualities of humans as a block statistical computation). The book series was "FOUNDATION". Given that genetic motivational qualities are inherited and slightly intermixed in children, the genes predict the future.

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story they had some mathematics that filtered out meaningless bits from government reports....7 page documents were reduced to 3 sentences"

You can also distill human communication to numerical functions by dividing it into brain hemisphere short codes (left brain=logic, right brain=emotion, brainstem=instinct, frontal lobe=prediction). This tells you what part of the human is speaking. Further distill words into INTENT, ACTION, BOAST, CONFUSE, INFORM.

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story they had some mathematics that filtered out meaningless bits from government reports....7 page documents were reduced to 3 sentences"

For example: "I am going to the store."

Distills to: Left Brain = INTENT + INFORM

Example: "You can't stop me going to the store."

    Distills to: (Left Brain + INTENT)(Right brain + BOAST)(Brain Stem + INFORM)

Example: "I think it is going to rain."

Distills to: (Frontal Lobe + INFORM)

This applies only to externalized ideas

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story they had some mathematics that filtered out meaningless bits from government reports....7 page papers were reduced to 3 sentences"

Humans are driven by basic instinct (Brain Stem) survival motivations at the core, but have useful functions beyond pure instinct. Therein, a predator will face FIGHT or the prey FLEES, but fight can also be DISTRACT or CONFUSE or DELAY or MAKE NOISE. Humans use these tricks in basic communication too. By padding in words.

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story they had some mathematics that filtered out meaningless bits from government reports....7 page papers were reduced to 3 sentences"

You'll notice that you can SUMMARIZE papers to the meanings you desire or require, but another human may SUMMARIZE these outcomes differently (weather report can be distilled into "Tomorrow, comfortable warm, chilly night" or "HARVEST ORANGES NOW"). Word sounds have this capacity. SH=quiet. UG=disgust. ER=confusion. SUGAR.

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story Psychohistory summarize govt documents"

Word sounds have this capacity. See this if you are clever enough.

GR=anger. EEN=shiny. GREEN. ATE=release. GREAT (angry release). EEF=away. GRIEF (anger away). IDI=excite. IT=pointing. IDIOT (excite pointing). OHL=lay down. IDOL (excite then lay down). And so on. It is all plainly obvious why some words "sound right" and others don't. Plain as day to all but the morons.

Each sound a primitive idea/emotion fragment

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story Psychohistory summarize govt documents"

Word sounds have this capacity. It is also why many Linguists are dumb in that they see not even the most basic aspects of language for function. Babies learn so slowly because they are not shown the quantitative aspects of the sounds they are trying to imitate. Instinct reactions are built in. Finer qualities of sounds are not.

Sound bits are more deductive logic interpretation later. CLAH=get. EEN=shiny. CLEAN.

  • @twdarkflame - "Asimov story Psychohistory summarize govt documents"

CLAH=get. IT=pointing. OR=other. IS=this. CLITORIS (this word sound phrase is an ill-built concept).

IDI=excited. CLITTY=get excited (much more logical).

AIRY=light air. KHA=lift-move. KITTY=lift move excited. CARRY=life move light air.

OHL=lay down. LAP=fall hit. CLAP=lift move fall hit. CAROL=lift move lay down.

It's all rather self-obvious. Deducing the right core idea/emotion words is the tricky part.

  • (your deity of chose) wept...

  • Wats depressing is the fact that this man now has such severe alzheimers that he keep on trying to write books that he's already written, and is soon going to die. This man is a genius, and great author

  • @fowlee42 umm...Did you read "I Shall Wear Midnight" or "Nation" both were pretty darn unique and very well written. Admitably Unseen Achidemicals was in his old mold, but I see no sign he is rewritting stuff he has done before.

  • @twdarkflame well hes tried to rewrite some of his books, but obviously the publishers and family members and whatnot stopped him before he could

  • @fowlee42 oh, fair enough then, thought you were saying something else. :)

  • Terry pratchett deserves every honor EVER

  • Ladies and Gentleman of the world.....give that sitting man a toast, a standing ovation, a nobel prize, and a pint!

  • Man's an inspiration and I love his hat

  • @PuppyZwolle 'Hard to take seriously as a writer'??? Well, Trinity College Dublin, known for some of the world's great 'wits' would disagree...as would the myriad readers who have found his books indispensible reading. To say nothing of the awards & honors he's been acredited over the years. Unfortunately, I won't have the chance of seeing him interact with the audience & 'stunt Pratchett' mid-speech, as he does at critical moments & to much audience delight! So I enjoy these videos. Seriously!

  • @Kingscrib I wholeheartedly agree with you. And I am aware of his awards. The point I was making is that the *'mainstream literary world'* still views Sir Terry's work as an oddity. I do not share their reserve.

I for one think of him as one of the great minds of our time. Seriously. ;^)

  • I predict this man will be as famous as Shakespeare, Lewis Carol and Doctor Who over an equal amount of time. The man has wit wisdom and humility, and the combination makes it hard to take him serious as a writer. But he will be loved by many generations to come.

  • Terry Pratchett is an amazing man.

  • met him once and saw him once, what a nice man

  • A nice man with an incurable disease writes books that bring joy to millions.

  • Love the hat. Love the man.

  • @99minerkc well that's certainly a definition of a hero but not necessarily the definition. A person can be a hero for saving lives and don't you think his fight against PCA, self motivated as it may well be, is courageous at all?

  • My Hero. And yes, the capital letter is well and truly deserved.

  • @gordyclarke In what way is he a hero, "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life?"

Maybe he's your role model or idol, but hero?

  • @99minerkc he is still writing even with a disease eating away at his brain, he has written books that have touched me and very possibly gordy in a deep way that changed my understanding of humanity and the world. He IS a Hero with a pen.

  • @Naglefar1988

    More City Watch!

  • @Naglefar1988 Ok, thanks for answering.

  • @Naglefar1988 I hope we find a cure fast enough to save him.

  • @brickct123 and everyone else, thats what he wants

  • @666Gear Sod everybody else! ^^

  • @Naglefar1988 or a word processor.

  • @99minerkc It's odd, isn't it? Everywhere you go on the internet you come across pedantic little twats like miner. It must breed them.

Still, I won't get angry. I'll just quote PTerry:

Something that distinguishes the [99minerkcs of the universe is the term 'in my humble opinion',which they think adds weight to their statements rather than

indicating, in reality, 'these are the mean little views of someone with the social grace of duckweed'

  • @gaspode18 So, to have a question answered makes a person a twat now? That would mean most all school children, college students and more are twats then! It would also mean that you're quite arrogant! Of the two I would prefer to be a twat!

  • @99minerkc No, it's the sanctemonious self-satisfied WAY that you asked the question that makes you a twat. And a smug one at that.

  • @gaspode18 Oh yeah I was real sanctemonious, that's a stretccccchhhh!! I was fairly sure that I disagreed that the man was a hero and still question it! I did see where he could be a positive role model or maybe a someone to look up to(idolize)! All I was doing is questioning and Naglefar1988 answered my question with class, something you SEVERELY LACK, actually you don't just lack it YOU HAVE NO CLASS! I'm done wasting my time with you! Go troll someone else!

  • @99minerkc I dont think that hero is "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life" i know many Heroes without these qualities and people usually become heroes because they must become a heroes... and Terry is my Hero too, naglefar1988 wrote it better than i can. Terry made people think and laught... in these times... sorry for bad english i hope you understand what i meant.. i dont argue its just my opinion

  • @666Gear Well, "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life" is the dictionary definition, so I don't see how that part of your comment is correct. As far as Terry being your hero. I don't concede that Terry is a hero but if you believe him to be yours, who am I to say, he can't be. I don't believe in a personal god but who am I to tell people they can't believe even though the evidence is against them, I can't.

  • wow what a fun speech!

  • Why no sound?

  • subtitles would have helped :(
