That is not Venus It's the moon.....If it was Venus I would be able to see is moon above, below, or next to either side of the planet Moon not there: Not real thing. I look at it every morning from 6:20-6:40 every morning
P.s if the moon was to be seen below the planet in 40 minutes it would be to the left of it. I.D.K but it seems it takes 2:40 min to do 1 revaloution around the moon!!
thats amazing! I just got a telescope, and I am a very beginner. mine only goes to 100x magnification. how well do you think I could see lets say the m42 orion nebula on it or any other star?? also, you said you did this in late afternoon. How well can you see things before dark?
@majewda I know you posted your comment two years ago, and have probably found it out by now, but M42 fills most of my FOV even at x50 magnification, higher than that, I have to pan around to see the entire nebula.
What telescope?

uhh thats the moon.....
hamsterfreak4 4 years ago
uhh, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The moon would not be that small at 400x magnification.

right on ,the venus cresent it is.

Good point, some people are such skeptics. Why would anyone put up a video of the moon and call it Venus? That just makes no sense. Cool video!
MagicMan982 3 years ago
Nope, and if that was the moon, it would have moved a lot slower than that :)

@hamsterfreak4 Venus also has lunar phases, I belive it's the only planet that does.

@Amatoposters if mercury isn't a planet...
Redshift64 1 year ago
@Amatoposters I think Mercury does have too. But i'm not sure
Feon2 1 year ago
@hamsterfreak4 you obviously don't know venus has phases plus the moon would be much much bigger at that magnification

There are no natural satellites orbiting Venus.
Anacinc 3 years ago
