Haha i'm in college and i'm about to earn my doctorate on trumpet and Jazz theory, and one weekend I had no money, so I took a train to the nearest, biggest city to play on the street and hopefully earn some money. I spent all day playing almost every jazz song I new and even some classical! I earned, $12.25, 12 condoms, a burger king wraper, one good comment, countless bad comments, and an old woman offered me diner. So it goes to show you, some people have good days and some have bad days.
Maybe you just suck. I guarantee you if Wynton Marsalis played trumpet on a street corner under some sort of disguise so people wouldn't recognize him, he'd still be able to scrap up nearly 1k a day EASILY.
Respect to all buskers, no matter how good or bad they play - it takes a lot of balls to get out there. I bet this guy has more charisma than all you folks who leave negative comments
Man some of you people judge him saying "oh well he is terrible, he sucks." Now I am not saying he is the best musician in the world. But if you are not a musician and don't know anything about music (especially trumpet my instrument) please don't judge him. Because as far as I am concerned you don't know jack shit.
I think that he can improve if he invest time into practicing. There is no such thing as a street musician. I am a trumpeter and there are no limits to some of the places that I have performed. One of the things that is fascinating about performing on the street is that so many untalented people try to judge you. It is easy to judge someone else when you are perfect at everything that you do. I have not met this perfect person yet but, I do meet judges on a daily basis.
and yes it does. It is not like they made 2 instruments saying, hey, lets make this look different, sound the same, and name it different no. every instrument no matter how similar is used with different sound or tone, rose brass, is warm on trumopets, silver lacquer is more bright sound, but though it is a cornet, he sucks at playing so, he major fails! LULZ!
new orleans bro. the most street musicians ull ever see.

I think the tone his tone is just a problem with the recording device used.

no it really doesn't i mean it does but too small of a difference
trumpets are more of a brassy and high pitched marching instrument
while cornets are more mellow soft concert horns
jckracing2 3 years ago
Trumpet doesn't tie into marching instruments, jackass.
The soprano bugles they used in drum corps resembled cornets more anyway.
Trumpets are more brilliant, cornets darker.
And there are cornets shaped more like trumpets, like some old Conns, and trumpets shaped like cornet, the wrap doesn';t chnage the bore
IncendiaryPistonOil 2 years ago
yes they do,
and by saying brilliant and darker, rather than brassy and mellow, doesn[t make you more right than me.
jckracing2 2 years ago
Brassy =/= brilliant
Mellow =/= dark

seems like quite the character
