@petrovasuper Isn't it sissone ferme because ferme means closed. The legs are closed during the landing. In sissone ouvert, the legs are open in landing.
@dancinchick933 ferme means closed in french. in terms of ballet that simply means that you don't actually land in arabesque. you close the sissone to fifth position. if this were sissone ouverte you would land in arabesque.
@petrovasuper Well I'm very dedicated for the funds that i have for classes and my teacher says im one of the strongest in my class. so wish me luck :)
I'm quite young (11) when I'm older I want to audition to companies all over the world but the standard in Russia is just... WOW!! I've also heard its like torture so really I'm not sure.
We have to understand that these girls are un Moscow. These countries and cities are very committed in ballet training. Other countries such as USA, Mexico and such, have ballet training for many levels, unfortunately, we don't get as much commitment as they do.. Many of the academies in other countries are for recreational learning of ballet, not professional. Though I'd kill to go to your school and become professional, seriously.
OMG I'd LOVE too! but you know, there are problems and I live in Mexico! and I dont think my family would allow me to :( and there are financial problemss too. But thanks!! ID LOVE TO! jaja
ooo i would come in a heartbeat too i wish i could come but i live in the states and irussia is so far away but one day hopfully im 12 and just went en pointe so i probably be not as good but i would work hard
I would love to become as serious as these young girls. But Im thirteen and I'm going to be in a class with 6 year olds (I'm not as good as these girls!). Besides, I think that its too late to make my decisions about being a ballet dancer because i started pointe too late. (Just a year ago). But I am doing pretty well. I can do double pirouettes and fouttes now. But right now I do 4 hours three times a week, and I live in America.
@dancelife450 you didn't start pointe late at all - i started re-started ballet (gave up as a little girl) when i was 13 or 14, and now im 16 and going to ballet school next year!! and i cant fouette!! they look for potential :) you sound committed, go for it!
@dancelife450 hey it is not too late I just started pointe and I'm 16. I know I can achieve anything I want to. you will probaly have abetter chance than me for sure.
@Balletgirlhopepointe me too. i started at 14 and started pointe this year. you just have to keep moving and don't give up. there were a lot of times when i thought i might quit because i was tired of being the oldest and having to work harder than everyone else to get at my age level. but now i'm en pointe and it was all worth it!
@dancelife450 That's fine! I started ballet when I was 12 and pointe when I was 14 and my teachers who have been professional dancers say I have a good chance of becoming one. My advice is just keep corrections in mind and always look to improve- good luck! :)
this is the first thing u should learn!!!!!!!! OMG i learned pliess the first!!

@dancinchick933 Sissones can either be ferme or ouvert, literally closed or opened. Ferme finishes in fifth while ouvert finishes in arabesque.
minitay12 7 months ago
@dancinchick933 ferme is closed ouverte is open.
ballet4ever321 6 months ago
@dancinchick933 It means a sisonne that closes with two feet.
Becca11Dance 2 months ago
@dancinchick933 'fermer' means to close, so sisonne ferme is a sisonne, landing with the legs closed
