  • She has to be all sophistacated

  • 2:51 Never mist your animal

  • 2:51 Never mist your animal

  • 2:51 Never mist your animal

  • lol this is one of the worst tank set up i ever seen, also @maizieandmindy is right those are desert species, misting it is like puting them in a wet enviroment, i dont think its going to live long

  • I'm no expert, but I know more than this lady does!

    *Tarantula's aren't stupid.They aren't about to drown themself,and they don't need a water bowl of that size.

*They don't need to be fed mice

*Chilean rose hairs(a.k.a the spider in this video) are a DESERT species - meaning they hate their tanks being sprayed!

I'd just like to add that if the tarantula is a topical species then it may be nessacery to spray the tank. But NEVER spray a rose hair tank...it stresses them out.

  • ???? shes talking about her tarantular :/

  • Did she realy just say 'now your taranatula won't drink water but it is nice for humidity, if it does choose to drink the water' so in that case i wont dislike this video but if i decide to i will make up another 5 acounts just to kp disliking it, silly expert village.

  • @liampeel100 well it kind of depends on the species as farr as i know my Xenesthis immanis does often drink water from the dish but i have never seen my Chilean Rose drink from hers

  • Now I'm not a spider expert, but spiders existed way before humans and even dinosaurs and have lived for hundreds of million years through all the natural disasters, I think they can handle a little bit of water....

  • did... did she say that you need to put a rock in the water bowl... so it doesnt drown...

  • wait is there such thing as overfeeding your tarantula. Because mine its every time it gets the chance. I mean one day it ate like 5 large crickets. Ive had the tarantula for about a week. And i know alot about scorpions but little new about tarantulas. Btw it is A large rose hair which i have. Please respond if it is possible they could get sick from being over fed, and no i dont feed them mice, only crickets.

  • Ok most of this shit it crap, but The part about don't catch insects outside IS true!I caught a house fly for my mantis 1 hour later...my mantis's turned black!...15 min later...dead.:(

  • is it weird that i find them...cute?

  • is it wierd that i find them...cute?

  • tuhranchulahs argh kewhl

  • wtf she has no i deer what she is doing im surprised the tarantualla aint dead yet

  • MUAHAHA let it drown! LET IT DROWN!

  • lol expert village strikes again with there oh so "Expert" advice.

  • is this bitch dumb ? dont feed it an insect from outside ? are you shitting me ? what do you think they ate before they were forced to live in a cage? but anyways im scared shitless of spiders yet i want to get a tarantula dunno why o.o

  • @kodydarkk its in case there's insecticide but your right she is pretty fucking stupid xD

  • noooooo you drop the food sorce in without removing the cover really common sence

  • wat

  • this lady does not no what she is taking about

  • shut up 991705991705 you rasict bitch. Fuck you

  • 1:05 Obtain a cricket

  • Tarantulas can scavange for food, feeding live pinkies can be animal cruelty so if u must feed a pinkie (which is not really good for the spider due to excess of calcium) you can just pop it in there and leave it, coz the smell of the animal will still attract the spider. I'm not if you can tweezer feed though, maybe worth a try.

  • i like the tarantulas and all, but all i gotta say is that cricket looks scared as hell. if you want to feed the spider live food, dont put it right under the spider! things gonna have a heart attack!

  • does anyone else here get a funky-looking cursor from youtube?

  • Thanks for this video . I come from New Zealand . Unfortunately we don't have Tarantulas over here . I wish i could have a pet one of these spiders.

This woman has a pretty face , and nice talking voice as well .

  • @musique1975 Pet stores dont sell tarantulas in new zealand?

  • Can I go dig in my garden and feed it a giant grub if I find one? Or any insect that can't hurt my tarantula?

  • wow how expert {sarcasm} pinky mice are horrible diets for tarantulas because the calcum is horrible for them

  • You know, I've found every animal's crap except for a Spiders.....makes you wonder if they crap at all, or if they hide it.

  • Her comment that Trantulas as pets are like Fish where you just enjoy them by looking at them and should not handle them much is absurd. Restpectfuly, that is BS. If you wont handle your tarantula more often, it will become very aggressive. It will try to attack anything that moves... try it with a pencil! It will attack it! and then there are more chances you to get bitten too!

  • Lol since when are Rosies aboreal Ts? XD

  • is miracle grow potting soil safe for tarantulas as bedding?

  • Wait what hang on... first of all, you don't feed worms to a spider.. and you only feed crickets to small spiders, then you move on to bigger insects like grasshoppers and cockroaches.

Also, spiders don't drink?! Mine does! o.o Or maybe she's just washing her face? xD

  • love tarantulas

  • Fuck this shit!, I would never have one of those things. I am very aracnaphobic. I love snakes and have a ball python called ceasar. But massive spiders are a big no no. Even watching this video gives me the shivers. Guess my curiosity got the better of me on this video search lol.

  • This lady has no clue what she's talking about. NEVER feed a tarantula mice. They have no need for it, and the excess of calcium is likely to cause molting problems. Also, don't bother with the rock, but get a relatively small water dish. They aren't stupid animals, and won't drown themselves. Also, don't spray a rose hair. They are a desert species, have no need for it, and hate it. It will only stress them out. Please thumbs up this so newbies don't kill their spiders under this advice.

  • @AnObeseAardvark You got that From Jon3800

  • @AnObeseAardvark May sound like a silly question but what kind of temperement or personality do these spiders have? What I mean is, are they generally friendly or just a pet to keep as an 'exhibition piece', as it were? (sorry, thats 3 questions, but just to clarify my question!)

  • @AnObeseAardvark ..... She sprayed the soil stuff , not the tarantula ..

  • @AnObeseAardvark she said tropical species though.... obviously you wouldn't spray if it is a desert species

  • @AnObeseAardvark thx im getting Rose Hair soon i greatly appreciate your expertise

    -UNIONPACIFIC1

  • I have rats in my bathroom, when i ever get a tarantula, i'll build them a big fort.. O.o

  • @zachsworlds

You don't know what you are talking about. Pinkies are good food for tarantulas!!

  • @zachsworlds

You don't know what you are talking about. Pinkies are good food for tarantulas!! And they are to small to harm a big spider.

  • she said tarantula 20 times in about three minutes... just pointing it out

  • SHe seemed totally digusted while talking .__.

  • OBTAIN A CRICKET.

  • These captions are fail! They stay there!

  • hmm I read you should not give it a live mouse since the mouse could injure the spider.

  • "so they don't fall in and drowwn" lol at the way she says that

  • hahah, a tarantula drowning xD

  • "obtain a cricket?"... why do they have to sound so damn robotic when speaking? How about say, "Pick up the ugly insect that eats all our damn farm crop, and feed him to that monster of a pest eater that I'll gladly watch dine on him". SEE WAS THAT HARD TO DO?

  • @DawgcityClev Yes.

  • ahhhhhhhh i want a a taratula so bad but my mom wont let me have one

  • lol it takes her 2mintues and 57 sec to explain on how to feed a tarantula when all you do is lift lid throw crickets in and enjoy

  • @gwar10 jajjaj te pasas

  • scary

  • wow do u rilly feed it hot dogs

  • "....remove the lid" xD no shit

  • lol "so they don't fall in and drown." I would never want a tarantula!!!! i have a leopard gecko though.

  • @fastpitchgirl4eva

Us T owners wouldn't want our tarantula to drown.

That's the point of the information.

  • @nicolevins tell me man how bad does it hurt when they bite cause i would like 2 get 1 please tell me man i wanna know. and whats the most nicest T that rarely bites people

  • @Shadyman55 get a pink toed tarantula(Avicularia avicularia) they are very docile, and do not have urriticating hairs and are not known to bite they shoot excrimate out of their back end as a defense mechanism

  • "tarantulas aren't going to drink the water that you provide"... really? flickr.com /photos/38025524@N08/4753741958/#/photos/38025524@N08/4753741958/lightbox/ Then what is that?

  • @3IackCat true - tarantulas do drink from water bowls :) I love catching mine in the act!

Also, you can feed dead food (helpful for slings) if you jiggle it or drop it in the web

  • wow, ppl makes laffs out of obvious quotes when the experts are talking naturally out of mind. then when they read cue cards, they bitch and moan. Gee, no1 can appreciate anything anymore...XD

  • my T is 3 years old and she takes on inch long locusts

but i usually just give her a cricket or 2

  • i know she said that they r carnivores and like their food alive but can you put a dish with letttece with carrots??

  • @thenancyonly1 You can, but they'll never eat it ;) lol. They are strictly carnivores. Stick to crickets, mealworms, superworms, and roaches. They won't eat vegetation of any kind.

  • @3IackCat ooohhh ok thanks

  • Drown?

  • I feed my tarantula hot dogs. He seems totally fine.

  • @FarangBalls Dude, I want to eat a hot dog now,

  • @FarangBalls really? don't things aren't safe even for humans.....

  • to much damn writing!!!!

  • yeh kamimi tera baap da kutiya che

  • What a dumb woman .... (no I'm not being sexist) <-- She rly is dumb.

  • dont feed them mice!

it can screw up there molt and its to mutch calcium!

u should only feed mice befor breeding and after the female laid her sack!

  • "OMG you bicth!" - says the cricket.

  • I remember at school we had a tarantula in the science room. Some of the kids would keep spraying the tarantula in it`s face and annoying it to where it was twitching and trying to climb out of the container.. =( So everyday I made sure I was the first to get in there and take care of the tarantula first before some other kids did it and harrassed him. I`m just now remembering this so I thought id post it, lol. Tarantulas are so cool :D

  • @EverlastingxFantasy I hope your teacher bitch slapped those kids. A friend of mine got a trantualla from a school and one of it's legs is missing, I'd hate to think some little phycopathic kid did it intentionly but I wouldn't be surprised. Good for you looking out for him.

  • "never mist your animal" NOW YOU TELL ME ....

  • They're really intriguing pets... but, alas... arachnophobia sucks : (

  • @UnityIsDivinity Arachnophobia is the worst one EVER!!!

  • I'd do her

  • what if the cricket eats my tarantula

  • @iarewtf The cricket can't EATa tarantula unless it is molting.

  • thanks...

  • I feed my tarantula dead pinky mice time to time and she seems to really like them.

  • u can't even feed them live pinkies in britain lol it's illegal. just dead ones because they kill them 'humanely'

  • i wood put ma sis in that cage

  • at 1:54 shes like eww with her body language, lol at least get somone totall comfterble to do these vids, the vids shes shaking and wincing and flustered by the turantula itself and the turantulas just sittin there chillin. BEWARTE IT CAN SMELL YOUR FEAR! lol i doubt it smells fear, maybe tension but lol haha amused myself twice today me ftw!

  • "If you have a spiderling, which is two to three years old, they have a lot smaller of a cricket,"

  • very good guide lines my ass

  • @Xxn how would you have done it differently then? What did she do that was SO wrong!?

  • these vids don't give enough info for a starter it is most important to be informed and even though expert villages vids give some shallow info they make mistakes and it's not enough like for instance this one she makes a big gap like when a tarantula is about to molt she rejects food of any kind and the little fact that you're tarantula might die of is if you have a tropical species you shouldn't moist while she is feeding that's and you have to clean off what she left uneaten.......

  • u have a point...... that is why you dont rely on one source. expertvillage has made some mistakes.

  • my point exactly :)

  • so, i take it with a very venomous species of tarantula your supposed to stick your hand in htere with it and make sure your hand puts the food rihgt next to your tarantula. i think not lol. for a rose hair sure, why not. but i wouldnt really recomend this advice to someone. without a little more detail on the danger of some species. but most info provided wasnt bad, but it could use some work. thats expert village for you, filled with a bunch of people who arent experts at all.

  • @littlebrittle18 tarantulas are not that venomous. yeah, they do have a venom, but is not strong enought to kill humans. The worst a tarantual can do to a human is spread its legs on its body and throw pelage against the agressor eyes. people that are alergic to the hair of the tarantula can be in a very dangerous situation. But if you are not alergic you just have to fear the size of its "teeths" XD

  • @felipetomass,,,,you realize that there are many different types of tarantulas right? not all tarantulas have a mild venom. there are species that will fuck you up. and im pretty sure, fangs aren't going to feel very good when they get buried into your flesh, wouldn't you say?

  • see, you're arguing about fangs, not venom, stick to the issue, ffs, for shame. And do tell me the species with the 'toxic' venom, there's only 1 species with moderately harmful venom.

  • It doesn't matter. Tarantulas are dangerous. Period.

  • @littlebrittle18 no there is none, go google it.

  • nonvenomous is the word your looking for, lol. not none venomous. but yeah, i admit, you are correct, but then again its not that they arent nonvenomous, its just they have weak venom. so you were correct they arent harmful to us, but they could be if we had a negative reaction to the venom. i apologize for thinking i was right when clearly i was wrong :D

  • tarantula venom is weak, pretty much harmless, you're not much of an expert either are you?

  • It's not so harmless if u are allergic still not deadly

  • @littlebrittle18 they are none vemonous.

  • i bet you would think twice before taking a lid off a p.ornata's cage LOL!!

  • This video clip is showing you all the wrong things to do to a tarantula try it with my king baboon please idiot

  • You are wrong, this is how she feeds all of the tarantulas at her zoo. There are over 1000 of them and many of them are over 15 and were hatched from egg. She's doing something right.

  • a spiderling is 2-3 years old? this bitch on crack.

  • A Chilean Rose Tarantula like the one she is demonstrating with, becomes sexually mature (or an adult) at 4-5 years, so anything under that is considered a spiderling, so really the Curator/Entomologist is not wrong

  • i hope my tarantula will like dead food :$

  • the bugs do not need to be alive, but it may take a while to train ur tarantula to eat them dead.

  • i think im ganna just fix em' up a steak

  • LOL!!! with mushroom gravy?

  • Yea Just give him a Doubble cheese burger, sure he'll love it.

  • if i did that i would faint

  • hope i didn't doom my tarantula by feeding her a very small skink I found roaming my garage. not sure whether it was contaminated with pesticides or not. :x

if she dies (worst case scenario D:) at least my terrarium is set up for another or a gecko or something...

  • It most likely won't die, Tarantula's aren't stupid they could know if their prey is contaminated.

And this of it this way, a wild tarantula would not care where their prey came form as long as they got it.
