@jeffmcguire2003 this duy could probably beat u to death with his pliers, wouldnt be the worst impact weapon, and btw if he can do this with a leatherman, i bet he is badass with a balisong. so in short shut up fat ass stop compensating for being so fat
I liked teh video, don't listen to the haters. I wouldn't lube mine up to this extent, but you can't beat a one handed operation of one of the best multi-tools available.
I guess if you are a hunter up on a tree or an electrician working on a ladder or an electric pole-one handed opening could come in handy with a lanyard so you don't drop it.
Basically (i know this sounds strange), but Ive lubed mine up so much that while the rivets themselves hold fine, the entire frame is so loose it is practically a butterfly knife, just with a crapier blade!
haha a butterfly knife. dam you had to loosen that thing up ALLOT. I got mine like an hour ago (no i havent oiled it, duh i should) but from going to new to that smooth...dam
@flaky1324 when i was younger i had to flash mine like a butterfly knife so people didn't steal my bike and/or sexualy abuse me. maybe this guy used to do the same thing and that's where he got the idea. (but don't do it when you don't have to because people will be able to tell the difference if you do it wrong)
Leatherman tools are bullshit. All are made with very low quality manufacturing and control. I have some LM multitools, I compared to my victorinox multitools (swiss tool and swisstool spirit), Victor has very tidy design and accurate, which I believe was highly controlled manufacturing. OK, LM has good design, however human error and lack of control during assembly of the product may be the cause of very poor quality of final product on the market. Sorry to say that, but it is seriously true!
If you open the leather man wave and look inside the handles below the pliers, you'll see the flats that cause the handles to lock open when the pliers are opened up. I can't remember why the hell I did this at work, but I heated that up slightly and then tapped it a little bit with a hammer and a flat head screw driver. After that my leatherman was just as whippy as the one in the video and still works. Just got to be careful when you do it.
I do this a lot since I can't own a balisong in my state. Its pretty fun and leathermans are built well enough to not fly apart like a cheap balisong would.
These are pretty stiff when they're new but a few drops of oil and they loosen right up to the point of being able to flip it as fast as a benchmade 42. Doing so hasn't made the tool any less useful either.
well, maybe I'm remembering wrong.. when I was out of state I remember flipping a leatherman around while my friend had his 42, It can open and such just as fast.. its just a matter of having the dexterity to do it with something as clunky as a multi tool.
Maybe, but it could also be lubricated beyond belief. I did the same thing to my PST II, regretted it almost instantly bacause it made the pliars about useless.
Judging by the looks of it, he has the pre 2004 model Wave. The tools arent broken, just broken in!! My Wave does that, and I don't worry about it, plus Leathermans are backed by a 25 year warranty. Gotta respect the mans trick. A Leatherman isn't meant to be babied. Maintain it like they recommend, and you will have a companion for life, just like a trusty old pocket knife.
too bad that leatherman isnt in factory condition. its loosened up. just listening to it chattering when he moves it. a leatherman can hold its weight and then some before it opens and his is clicking and clacking just idling in his hands..
what do you mean not factory conditon. I dont know anyone with a leatherman in "factory condition" except maybe a wuss. mine opens like that too. Its been used like almost everyday since Ive had it. Its called worn in. it happens.
hahaha what a fucking moron he is for taking the time to practice that, lololol if i seen a plumber or electrician doing that at my house id shove ut up his ass
haha... that was cool and funny.... good way to scare people..... i'll plier u.... *flick flick flick*

I use my Leatherman at work everyday and I often need to get at my tool with only one hand.
I you think this is dumb should throw your tool away, because you obviously don't use it.

I over- lubricated it to the point that the pliars would stick and make useage almost impossible.
