dude i did something similar but with a smaller car. check it out... if you attach straws or something to the side and then run twine through it, you can keep the car from veering off to the side like that.
Instead of using a D rocket (is it a D12/D11 or something?) you could try to use two C6 rockets, in a two stage setup. Also I can't see it working that well with such small wheels.
