It's an extremely dramatic choice by Von Trier - Tristan und Isolde's 'Liebestod' theme (there is no chord in this piece of music that is resolved in a harmonic scheme) for a movie about a wedding that is doomed to defeat from the outset. I love this music, and I must see this movie.
Audio is revelation!Still can't stand the movie of Lars Von Trier! Tell me if it was the same scene after the end that peaple did'nt want to stand up and therre was a total silence after the movie in the cinema?!
I think it's a great movie with a great soundtrack, but I don't understand what you mean with the scinema. If people didn't wanna stand up, it's clearly not because they simply didn't like the movie. If people don't like a movie, they don't sit around after it's done, they just leave and start talking right away. If people kept sitting there thinking about the movie, it had an effect on them.
@spoko55 Exactly! I didn't really like the film, but the end was so overwhelming that all the cinema (me included) couldn't just leave. And when I listen to this soundtrack, these emotions came back! Gosh!
Cosmic soundtrack. Here we are, aliens!
