  • cool game

  • This video went viral on Banjul

  • Dude the statues starting at 1:21:00 are fucking terrifying :-D

  • its like you played a completely different game from what i played. hell, I didnt even bother with the staff..lol... sweet sweet is all i am going to say now.. this brings back memories and now i am going to reconnect it again to play....

  • someone needs to rip the music for this game, it's really mystical and fantastic.

  • @Senshismackdown If you like, I found a torrent with the soundtrack for this and a few other PC-E games and I'd be happy to share the link with you. I'll send it in a private message.

  • Sweet. The gameplay reminds me of King's Quest. When I begin my TG-16 collection this will be one of the first games I try to acquire even though from the looks of things it's pretty damn expensive. Must be a pretty rare game.

  • 1:43:34 XD

  • 1:31:48 Frendship

    Shao Khan: Frendship? Again?

  • >1:31:15

Prince Eric: Imma bust a magic cap in yo ass!

  • This looks like Gygaxian Dungeon: The Game.

  • LMAO DEATH BY OLD LADY XD

  • Very cool, thank you for posting this!

  • Estupendos graficos para una pc engine

  • Those death scenes are gross!

    Especially the album one.

  • it's interesting that they went to the SCUMM style

  • I LOVED the first ShadowGate, especially the NES version! There were some other versions with better graphics and a more friendly user interface (like the Windows '95 version), but the NES one will keep a place in my heart forever!

So, I was a little bit shocked to see that this sequel adopted a completely different style, it's more like watching one of the classic Lucasfilm adventure games than a ShadowGate series installment, what did they do to all the grim and dark atmosphere?

  • Humor and funny characters? OMG, I was about to pass on this one but somehow the game excels in some aspects.

It must be said, though, that some of the puzzles are plain impossible and I don't believe there is a single soul on Earth who can solve all of them, they're ridiculously illogical (even for ShadowGate standards) and simply can't be solved without using a guide.

  • And, on the other hand, this is ShadowGate, you're supposed to bypass every enemy using your brains and deductive skills, it's frustrating exhausting every possibility with every item on each enemy just to know that you were supposed to hit them with your fists. O_o

Another thing I didn't like were how far some locations and items are form others, the game has some very slow moments like when you traverse empty screen after empty screen trying to reach your next destination.

  • Anyway, the game grew into me and while it's not great I must admit it's a lot of fun and I especially liked the graphics and the final encounter with the Master Warlock. I must thank you too for providing all the endings and all those hilarious death scenes!

Please, keep posting more of these!

  • @LaVeyCharkusVeros (I know, you'll never read this) It's not like the original Shadowgate was 100% grimdark. In fact, some of the game's death scenes were too atrocious to take seriously (break the mirrors, for example) and oftentimes the game would laugh at you for doing something stupid (You got slimed!) Furthermore, Uninvited and Deja Vu (and it's sequel) had more of a playful atmosphere; so it's not like the change came out of nowhere.

  • @TheTaiyakiGuy WRT to the using items on enemies thing, they could have done it more, but it's not like they didn't do it at all.

  • so the character who you played in the first game was named erind awesome

  • 12:08 I lol'd

  • This game looks strange..

    Yes?

  • i see they brought a few old friends from the last game

  • I have never heard about this game.

  • Didn't know there was a sequel only for the PC-Engine.

  • How he escapes from the cell is exactly like Lure Of The Temptress.

  • shadowgate was a very good game i enjoyed playing it especially uninvited and deja vu

  • Wow the audio is really great and atmospheric. Too bad the graphics can't match. :(

  • sound over graphic can do wonders and vice versa

  • One of the best TurboGrafx-CD games ever.

  • thank you!! great great great

  • I also have to add that the graphics, animations and the voice acting sure is terrific!

The music is also very nice, even though it maybe isn't as memorable as the music in King's Quest but still very nice. =)

  • Is this the sequel to the NES game Shadowgate?

  • Yes it is.

  • What is the point of giving me negative on the comment above? I was just asking, it isn't like it's a bad comment from me. =I

  • @Sarato yes.

  • @Sarato yes

  • @Sarato Seeing as they are both developed by Icom Simulations, I would assume yes.

  • @Doommaster1994 Actually, I think Kemco developed the NES version for Icom, just as they developed the NES and Super NES ports of Infogrames' computer games.

  • @ApacheMan2K The NES versions were developed by a company called Kotobuki System but I think that Kemco▲Seika published all their games.

  • @Doommaster1994 Yep. I think it was a joint venture between two Japanese companies and their North American branch.

  • Good old point & click, have you ever played Simon the Sorcerer?

  • A quick search shows hes actually done a video on it.. :)

  • Punch stuff for victory!

  • A game made during a time when computer games were truly fun and exciting. Not like PC games made now.

  • Not unless you're a fun of MMOs :-|
