The lines 'I see the girls walk by dressed in their Summer clothes. I have to turn my head until my darkness goes', I always interpreted as him meaning the 'darkness' as his lust for them and trying to ignore it.

I know it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the song but that's how the line always translates to me.

@xDarkTranquility I've always interpreted the "darkness" in that line as his sorrow over the death of his girlfriend or wife. Seeing "the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes" reminds him of when she was alive and happy, and it hurts him to remember things about her. I think that's why he wants to "paint black" all of these things that would be considered happy to another person: if everyone else were depressed too, he wouldn't feel so alone.

And everything is also very perspective based, a B cup is small compared to a C, but big compared to an A.
