  • yo' don't think youngesters don't get it. yuo gotta understand music changes. do you not like what your parents played?

  • @mistycat57 I get it...

so why do most of the new music basically samples of old school tracks with New Lyrics--

"watered down" is what it is. I can't listen to the new stuff because it isn't new AT ALL!

  • @mistycat57 I get it...

  • @Ojukiah ,do you like the songs your parents listen to. not only did alot of their music get covered by the artist of our time. but like i said the music changed, and like zep says "the song remains the same".although they didn't sample, the play the music and lyrics.

  • @Ojukiah the reason is they can't write music, they're good at what they think is poetry,or something ,nor can't play instraments (sorry i don't spell good) but in the 70"s there were remakes of earlier songs with no change in music or lyrics.

  • mean horn

  • That's that hit rite dere!!!

  • That's that hit rite dere!!!

  • songs like these are responsible for my jacked up feet! Trying to be cute back in the days, wearing high heel (w/pointy toes on top of that) shoes, & couldn't sit down with jamz like these coming back to back...long-extended versions mixed into the next. we danced until we were soaking wet & had to carry shoes home.....so much fun!!!!

  • Funky Tom Browne & band classic w/a Chaka sound twist !

  • Just because we're young doesn't mean we don't know what real music is. I hate when people say that then get surprised when I take out my bass and start playing Earth, Wind, & Fire or Zapp & Roger basslines. Either way...it sounds like Marcus Miller is on this track tearing the pocket up with some funky bass!!!

  • @JazzBass7 Well, according to the album sleeve it's not Marcus Miller on this very track, but Sekou Bunch.

The singer who is featured on "Thighs High" (she song lead on Funkin For Jamaica as well) is Toni Smith.

  • Back in da day; Gone so fast, and so quick. The quality of music back then, is not being made like this anymore. True music is lost, and forgotten, but I know that times changes, and nothing stays the same; I just think, that today's new artists should bring back some of that old music in a, new, old, original stylish form.

  • I believe that's guitarist Doc Powell on that cover. Someone pulled a major faux pas!

  • @ericbuchanan; sounds like a good idea. An 70/80's party & have people dress up as their favorite 70/80's artist or outfit. I'm doing the same for my next birthday party.

  • @Aquarianquetie will keep you posted but like 100% sure its going down......too many people want it
