@santuarysucks - I have had some minor issues with gear slippage when to much force is applied to the pedals. No big deal just once in a while though.
Durkman, go for it I got the TT Rover8 also and I weigh just under 400 and it takes my weight easy, plus easy to get on and off for my bad knees. As for me and mine I bought it from TT direct Shipping was free so it balances out if you buy local or from another online site. Either way it will be the best purchase for your health.
I'm 6'2 and 290 lbs so I'm curious about how many miles you've already put on your trike and how well it's holding up. Also, are you using your Rover 8 for leisure exercise or are you actually trying to lose weight on it? I ask since the point of my purchase is to help me achieve my goal weight of 230 lbs so I'm curious about how good of a workout it will give me. You seem to be running circles around your wife while on it, and it seems like a lot of fun. Just what I'm looking for.
@durkman Hi Durkman. The rover 8 has been great and has held up well. Plus I am quite a bit heavier then you are. The only issue that I have had is the seat seems to slide on the frame while I'm riding. I have been told that Terra trike is coming out with a device that will hold the seat in place better within the next month. Lastly since riding my bike I have lost about 30 pounds. So like Oimmuk said ... go for it!
@durkman I weigh 275, and I've been riding almost every morning for 20-30 minutes for about 2-3 weeks, and alot on weekends. it's really nice. I have been eating too much though, so I don't think I've lost much weight, but I'm feeling great. It will get your heart rate going fast, especially if you go up hills.
I'm going back on forth between the Rover 8 and the new Rambler TerraTrike line that is coming out next month, but I'm really torn because of the price difference. Personally, the Rambler seems way over priced starting at 400 bucks more then the Rover 8. My question is did you buy your Rover 8 direct from TerraTrike or did you go thru a local vendor or a different online Vendor like Utah Trikes? Utah Trikes is advertising the Rover 8 for $949 which is $50 bucks less then TerraTrike.
interesting

Have you had any problems with the internal 8 speed hub? Thanks.

It's a very clean looking design. I like it when a machine is simple, clean, an uncluttered looking.
