  • Dude, you forgot the best part! This is where it gets good.

  • this song is a bitch im learning it but the sweeps are so hard

  • nice job, well done sir!

  • Maybe have you got tabs to your version of the solo?

  • @gruszkos666 I posted this video over 3 years ago haha. I believe at the time I learned this using a Guitar Pro file, which you can find on ultimate-guitar, most likely.

  • @gruszkos666 The tab at songsterr matches this.

  • FUC WELL DONE MAN!!!

  • better than i can do on that. nice job bro!

  • je is the RR3 right? i have the same guitar :D!! nice playing

  • this solo is so orgasmic! check my cover of it!

  • nice cover man! =)

  • for me very technical solo

  • i just creamed as hard as i did the first time this amazing solo graced my ears

  • @tsunami624 hahaha Thank you!

  • Martys Lucretia solo is one of my favs, nice cover. I hate Daves solo though, it was awful. Nobody has covered Daves solo yet, I was hoping on finding a cleaner version on it.

  • shit! i love that guitar . jackson (l)

  • this is one of my favorite guitar solos ever, i wanna learn it.

  • Marty solos are SO TECHNICAL stop saying that bullshit of "Marty solos are not technical"

  • @Vansork91 Who said they weren't technical? I juzt said they're not overly technical, he alwayz haz feel. Rusty Cooley iz overly technical to me, Marty iz not.

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr Well, Marty's solos ARE technical as all hell, but they're not that fast..

But I don't care how fast/technical they are, they sound good, and that's all I ever cared about, awesome cover btw, trying to figure this solo out atm, but it's damn hard.

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr

i disagree, marty is very technical.. havnt you ever watched his lessons... His lessons are guaranteed to make your improve better... i dont care what anyone says they do. lol

  • @ChaosMario6969 My point wazn't that Marty izn't technical, I mean lizten to Cacophony! But what I'm saying iz that oppozed to some playerz who juzt senselessly shred, Marty doez it with feeling and emotion!

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr Why the hell are you using the letter z in place of the letter s? Are you ztupid?

  • @lolroflstomp Mainly so people like you will azk me questionz similar to the one you juzt azked. Alzo, becauze I'm ztupid.

  • @Vansork91 dude marty's solos are fucking magical, it's out of the world..

  • how did you get the tone :o

  • wow good job men

  • well done !! check out my full solo version

  • OW MY EARS! shrill tone o_o but that was a PERFECT cover imo! NICE!

  • @J03SA Yeah, I know! I was using a Boss MT-2 at this time, which is a pretty tinny sounding pedal, and on top of that the camera I use seems to really amplify high frequencies. Sorry about your earz!

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr aha np xD and again, nice playing :)

  • You rock dude!

  • Nice job, check out my cover too :)

  • martys solos are pretty technical in my opinion......

  • They are, but they're never overly technical like a lot guys who just shred up the butt. Marty is always feelin' it!

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr That's why he's my fav.Good one.

P.S. You need a new bed.

  • @cocain93 Yeah, they are quite technical, but Marty makes so beautiful melodies so the speed doesn't matter much....

  • @cocain93 well he came from probably the most technical band ever Cacophony

  • this fucking awesome !! =D

  • pretty good, a couple licks were a bit off, but no one can play a marty solo perfectly lol. good job.

  • GOD! At the beginning I thought you lost a leg.

  • There was a flat note in the middle somewhere but other than that this was pretty good man, keep it up.,

  • friedman´s solos are always bitchy, but i have to say that mustaine´s solo in lucretia is harder

  • GREAT MAN!!!!!! ★10000

  • I've learned how to play Tornado of Souls,Solo and all, In my opinion, Lucretia is way harder( mabey it's because I don't listen to it enough to see what I've been doing wrong)

  • amazing

  • That was really good my friend! Getting a back track next time and it'll sound spot on.

    5 stars!

  • Marty Friedman is very difficult to play. For me Lucretia is very difficult. I think Tornado Of Souls is easier.

    (sorry for my english...i'm italian)

  • That's funny because I think "Tornado of Souls" is harder to play than "Lucretia"! I guess as a whole Lucretia is more technical, but the end of ToS is tough.

  • i feel the same like painrinnegan90. i learned tornado of souls before lucretia, and still lucretia is much more of a bitch to play than tornado, but i have heard the exact opposite about how tornado of souls is so much harder, but idk.

  • I can't play either solo Tornado or Lucretia, but I'm much close to pulling off Lucretia than Tornado. Weird.

  • yeah when i posted that comment lucretia was a huge bitch, because i was still learning it. now lucretia is not as hard to play, but i still think it takes more to wrap around it as a whole than tornado of souls. lucretia has this weird time signature and slides and to me still requires much more concentration than tornado of souls.

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr

hell yeah , that ending is a bitch to play. I just tap the ending part..but someday soon hope to get it the way it's actually played.

kick ass vid by the way.

  • @EndeavorLeadGtr Are you kidding me?? Lucretia is a bitch to play i say tornado of souls is easier.

  • awesome killer tone O_O

  • Thanks for the friend invite. Nice work on this solo. Its one of my favorites. Marty Friedman rocks. 5 stars.

  • this is awesome :D - kenzy's friend

  • Thanks. -Kenzy's other friend

  • Great execution, you got the feel.

But hey, ugly right hand eh?

  • Are you referring to the way I hold the pick?

  • Yeah exactly, it looks like you've broken your thumb!

  • haha I've had several people tell me that I hold the pick strangely, but you're the first person on youtube to point it out!

  • your awesome dude, how long did it take to learn and remember all that?

  • Uhhhh.....I learned it a while ago, so I don't really remember, but it probably took somewhere between 1-3 hours.

  • sick guitar man and nice cover :D

  • That was awesome!

  • Thanks!

  • What amp is he using?

  • He is using a Marshall MG100HDFX with a Boss MT-2 Metal Zone. Nothing too fancy.

  • I'm useing MT-2 metal zone too!

  • i guess only marty can play that one perfectly, so im not going to criticize it.

you make it look so easy man, like i could learn it. i know better though thats a hard ass solo- just flying up and down the neck.

    5/5 for sure, great cover.

  • i think this was a joke look green day and britney spears

  • Hey you got the sound spot on that was well sweet

  • wich guitar is that?? i mena is it a Jackson Pro Series or USA?

  • It's a Jackson RR3. I believe it's a 2005.

  • can you play any YANNI just wondering

  • dude tab that shit for me or something for real

  • Man this cover is perfect!!! sounds fucking great!! and plus... you played it without backing trancs and anything!!

    perfect man!! 5 thousand stars!!

If you want, you can check my cover!

  • Ha that was pretty good! Think I am gonna give her a shot!

  • lol

  • Shut up Dave! You ONLY wish YOU were this good at HIS age.

  • @Grailorc: You, sir, is the scum of the universe. One day I will find you, and take a huge fart in your face...

    ...and set it on FIRE

  • Nice solo man, way to shred :)

  • Comment removed

  • yeah bit harsh give the chap credit its a decent effort.

  • Yes...well...I love you too.

  • Dude..way to freak out on the kid...

  • some of the notes needed alittle more emphasis on but other than that you blew me away man whoa and to play at that level of timing without backing i take my hat off and give you two thumbs up man all the way sweet

  • you can easily take a whammy off a jackson model at guitar center

  • this was just amazing, and had so much soul in it

  • Pretty good bro! 5 stars!

  • Very nice, you did a great cover. Love that tone too, and gotta love the RR. Check out my tornado solo vid :)

  • i spy seymour duncan invaders in that RR3

  • marty is a living ledgend!

i made a shirt for him and its selling on ebay, you should check it out. just type in marty friedman and it'll pop up.. tell me what you think..

  • awesome playing dude...i want your guitr o.o

  • Yeah I love my Jackson. The playability is awesome. I just wish I could find my whammy bar...

  • I might have an extra one I could mail you if you'd like, from an old jackson, let me know

  • that was great dude, flawless! if i could give you some advice on your vibrato i would say you have to make a pivot with your hand and the neck of your guitar. lol that prolly won't help you much at all but if you want good vibrato just try mimic malmsteens vibrato, w/o a doubt the best vibrato imo

  • your skills are mega BOSS!

  • that was awesome dude!

your vibrato was a bit off but thats marty for you, keep up the good work!

  • Yeah, my vibrato's the thing that people always critique...I'm working on it!

  • orgasmic

  • Damn! That's impressive dude. And the fact that you did it without a backing track makes it even more impressive.

    SHRED ON!

  • Thanks! I try, man, I try...

  • skills

  • very well done you did a really good job playing this solo. keep on rocking!

  • nice

    what gear do you use?

  • Currently I'm using:

    2005 Jackson RR3

Marshall MG100HDFX (Believe it or not, they can actual sound decent with a lot of fiddling around. I only use it for clean and sometimes lead sounds.)

    BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone

Dunlop Tortex picks (the purple, can't

remember the size, I think around 1.14mm? In my opinion, or at least with my playing, the type and size of a pick make a large difference for me.)

In this video it's the Metal Zone over the clean Marshall.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • everyone seems to use the metal zone pedal

    is it really good?

  • Well, it needs to go through a lot of tweaking and long hours of turning knobs, but it is a very capable pedal. You just can't go and scoop out the mids and the bass all the way or whatever a typical metal player does. It will sound tinny if you just use presets and such. It's a good pedal, but the Line6 Uber Metal is probably better. I'm going to start looking into some tube based distortion like Mesa/Boogie amps, but I don't have the cash yet. In the meantime, the MT-2 gets the job done!

  • dude you are a real player and dont need a fuckin backingtrack hows it done good job.

  • dude you are a real player and dont need a fuckin backingtrack hows it done good job.

  • Very nice!

  • cool!

  • your guitar sounds incredible man, and the solo was very cool, practice with samplers or with backing tracks thath is goos and help to your coordination, keep on! you are a very good guitar player

  • Thanks! I don't really know much else to say other than thanks! I appreciate it.
