For the first time, I visited Wrigley Field 4 weeks ago and I was mighty impressed. It is a great ballpark, it is real, and it concentrates solely on what it is all about: baseball. It is a shrine to America's game.

i just wish i could've gone there with him.....he deserved to see at least one world series win. im proud to say, im always going to be a cubs fan, through and through. it doesnt matter if they win the world series or not, TRUE fans stick by their team no matter what. they dont "band wagon", clearly we don't. wrigley is the most beautiful park. i've only been to 4 stadiums( Petco Park in San Diego, Dodger Stadium in LA, Wrigley Field in Chicago, and Chase Field in AZ) wrigley is the prettiest.

my grandpa was the club hous boy at wrigley back in the 40s when he was a young boy. he got a picture with a cubs player, i forgot which one. anyway, he was an avid cubs fan as am i and my dad, and im proud he was the club house boy. then he passed away in 2008 at 78 years old, and he never got the experience of seeing the cubbies winning the world series :( thats all he ever wanted. i was told he thought highly of me. he used to go to wrigley a lot. and when i go there, its really cool for me.

i've been to the stadiums in san diego, anaheim, los angeles, san francisco, oakland, tampa, milwaukee, minnesota, cleveland, and both wrigley and us. cellular. i plan on going to fenway and philly this summer. but so far as far as "nicest" goes san diego and san francisco take the cake. none of the atmospheres at these places were fun though except wrigley. the thing i like about wrigley (and im assuming i will like about fenway) is that watching games here is like watching 100 years ago.

Sorry to say but the only history this stadium has seen is pretty much bad history. The cubs have not won a world series there since the team was bought by the Wrigley family. Yes, there may be much history on a individual and personal level but not because the cubs have accomplished anything. The truth is bitter cubs fans. You can fool yourselves and every fool out there about your team and stadium but you can't fool a true baseball fan.

And, this is coming from a Rangers fan, where we have one of the best ballparks there is with the Temple. Still love Wrigley, though. And, as the Rangers proved this year, just because the World Series has eluded you for decades doesn't mean it always will. The Cubs will have their day.

Chicago Stadium was an INCREDIBLE place to see a Hockey Game.

Maple Leaf Gardens should be used again.

Toronto is smart for keeping it.

Wrigley Field IS the reason people go there - not the Cubs.

I have seen Riverfront Stadium, Turner Field, Milwaukee County Stadium, and Now Miller Park.

Miller Park is better than County Stadium. Miller Park is cool.

@dclaver2: I agree, that's why as sad I was to see Yankee Stadium go, it had to. You can only keep old ballparks like that going for so long until it's simply no longer economically viable. Better to do it sooner rather than later. Besides that, I've always had a soft spot for the Cubs, but what great moments and memories does Wrigley REALLY hold? They havent won a World Series in 101 years. It's not like it was a shrine like Yankee Stadium was.

The last world series won at Wrigley was Detroit in 1945.

Last time the Cubs won the world series was at Bennett Park in Detroit in 1908.

Its only historic because its old. Not much of any major significance happened there. Other than the Babe Ruth "called shot" that never actually happened.

In the classic baseball era, it wasn't even in the top ten of stadiums. Its only charm is because its old. Its n Yankee Stadium, Tiger Stadium, Polo Grounds, Ebbetts, Field, Forbes, Comiskey, etc...

It doesn't even rank among the top 10 current stadiums. But its mediocrity is suitable for the mediocre team that plays there.

Giant screen? That's why Wrigley is Wrigley. They didn't have giant screens in 1935 or anytime in that era. That's what makes Wrigley special. It's like watching a game in the old days. One of the very few stadiums that you can do that.
