Just yesterday I was thinking about GGs doing a review of Spycraft's many goodies, and today I find they al ready have!
To me, Crafty Games have become one of the most essential game-manufaturers alongside Paizo and Green Ronin, and their take on the d20 system makes for hours of great gameplay without the inconsistencies the "original" one has.
Besides SpyCraft is hands-down, the best game there is for any modern or near future action gaming.
Do anyone know if Origin of the Species Transmechs exists as a physical book one can buy? PDFs are fine and dandy but I much prefer a book. And if it do exist as a book, where can I buy it?
Kurt, eh... actually the first book to present master classes was the World on Fire book which was released way before this one. Just fyi. :D Otherwise good review.
That wasn't a review. It was an advertisement. He didn't give us his opinion of the products at all. He just told us what they were about and said if you like this kind of stuff, buy it. He really didn't say anything good about them either so they probably suck.
Never played Spycraft but sounds lke its worth a look, btw Devestator was in season 1 of transformers. Transmech excites me the most as a avid transformer fan.
Rob and everyone- have you ever switched the captioning on for these? There are some HYSTERICAL mistranslations. I was talking about the "cobra commander" commandant master class at around 4:56 and it refers to him as the "bad guys republican covert commander."
I bought the Transmech guide just so I can get a few ideas to make my Savage Worlds Transformers setting for my cousins. It's a very comprehensive book, even if you're not running with the Spycraft 2.0 system.
The art is similar, by coincidence the artist for the first 10 issues were done by Steve Kurth a good friend and now regular artist on Marvel Comics IronMan Legacy comic series.

Well done, Kurt.

I figured out what happened to his wedding ring. He sold it, along with his soul, to DrivethruRPG.

The G.I. Joe one interests me. I would be all over it in a second if it was for the Pathfinder rules. Sounds like there is a P20 Modern coming out.

@Jeffrywith1e One year later and I've come around to the Spycraft rules. I think I'll be picking this up soon.

Hey Kurt, where do you go to get prints for your RPG PDFs? I have a lot of PDF products but I don't want to use too much ink on my printer.

I guess you need to find you youtube video to figure out this predicament you've gotten yourself in!

GI Joe meets Trans also came about in early 2000's as well, like 04 or 05.
These ones are by far the best of the series.

Mr. Wiegel, it's nice to see you still have an interest in Spycraft 2.0. Spiffy review.

Eh, could be worse, Soundwave was a freakin' boombox (it would've been cool if they made a Soundwave toy that would also be a functional boombox).

Has YouTube developed PsiTech? Quite funny.

Actually I had kind of forgotten the Protectobots until you mentioned them, then I remembered.
I'm just wondering if the HEROES version of Destro is a Scot who everyone who hears the voice of thinks is black?
(As a half-black kid, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was to find out Destro was a white dude.)
I'm going to have to buy this just since you mentioned the Zartan character.
Zartan was always my fave Cobra related character.

I was about to mention that he was balck but everyone thought he was Scottish, but I won't....
I kid....
Anyway, he has a silver mechanical hand or something and his heritage is much more obvious.

The art of Real American H.E.R.O.E.S is similar to the original relaunched Devil's Due comics.
