@mizuhokazami1 Darling, there are different modes of black metal; this so happens to be unique and far fetching from you, in a sense of mysticism, occult, and ritual. Only the Old Mayhem with "Dead" on vocals can bleed me satisfaction. Not too much into the new black metal shit; it's too damn glossy, like where's the fucking grime at; like: Mutiilation, Celestia, Gehenna, Gestapo 666, Vlad Tepes, Liar of Golgotha, Satanic Warmaster, and Windir.

@mizuhokazami1 You do realize black metal is beyond copying Darkthrone all the time? Go listen to Bathory, Hellhammer, Von, NME or early Samael, Master's Hammer and Root. That is first wave black metal - Bathory and Hellhammer are often not considered bm nowadays, but it's mostly because too much people seem to forget what black metal truly is, when it truly started - bands which influenced Darkthrone themselves. Darkthrone always admitted they had a strong Bathory and Celtic Frost influences.

@SpearheadBT i know where black metal started celtic frost, venom and bathory are kick ass. the second wave of BM is dark throne( up until theyre latest albums)and other stuff but this is lame. opera doesn't have that black metal sound to it. its not like the feeling i get when i listen to mayhem or grand belial's key

There's a rough feel there, powerful (female) vocals, splendid clean vocals too, terrific music... Few bands nowadays (or none) come any close to what Opera ix did back in the time...

Darkthrone, Immortal, Emperor, Sigh (which I bet you wouldn't consider true bm, yet the first album was released on DSP), Mortuary Drape and yes, Opera IX. If you can't believe it is black metal, you fail to see what the deal is all about. There's this, and there's that who cares about these labels anyway? Bm is but a genre I listen to among others, and it should be that way, we shouldn't judge something by its label but by the music.
