We all need to move on from Citrix because it is such a shitty program. Our company upgraded from the normal app farm (I guess is what you would call it) to the web-based farm. I like that it's web-based, but it's not any better...it's worse. As far as Terminal Server goes, I'm sure it keeps crashing because we have shitty servers (sysadmin are always rebooting it).
@tonbert this comment doesn't really make much sense. i think you're trying to say your company moved from a physical server citrix farm to virtualised? or that you're using a web interface to sign into Citrix rather than using ica files or program neighbourhood? either way, Citrix is a great tool if configured well.
@emojo1990 performance in citrix depends on the WAN link and the performance of the Citrix servers. it has minimal dependency on the local device connecting to Citrix, therefore if the WAN link and Citrix servers have suitable capacity, you'll notice your citrix sessions will be smooth and efficient.
I wouldn't expect your school Citrix farm to be up with the enterprise company farms used for business - where applications like using Citrix on an iPhone will mostly apply.
Mhm, The iPhone 4g feaures a component that appeared to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation

Just been asked to look at getting this on iPads and iPhones. Why do I hear the phrase "Citrix problem" coming over the airwaves a million miles away. God help me....
I think NOT. This has the ability to stream Movies via ICA. Let's say you have a Linux Box on your TV, but want to watch Netflix. You can install ICA on your Linux Box, you can stream the Windows 7 Desktop via XenDesktop to your Linux Box. Can't do that with VNC. 3D Images won't even show up.
This is for conecting to virtual systems. It's not to connect to a single pc. It makes use of the ICA protocol, and the desktop you see is a published desktop OR a VDI running on xendesktop (xenserver). This is a huge step in the right direction of mobiity. This is something totally diferent than VNC!
I second that! Citrix is all about centralized managment, optimized performance (ICA protocol) and application delivery. VNC may function but will not be as easy to manage from an IT perspective nor will it perform to a level that users will be happy with.
I would like this very much except one thing that ticks me off about remoting to another pc is when I remote and try to play WOW. then the remote tool say runn game not supported.
BULL!!!! I know it can be done and I have tried using other flavor of remote tools and it can be done! even if it is a tad slow.... so what!
