wow O_O very nice playing, and an amazing piano too!!!! I don't understand how there can be 21 dislikes. . . clearly anyone with a sensible ear can hear how beautiful this is played.
Strange. It's difficult for me to know what emotions I'm feeling each time I hear this piece. All I know is it is one of favourite pieces and that I am confused at 16 thumbs down.
@ninjaassassin27 i checked your channel already... i think you must do another thing.... a toddler hitting the keyboard is more musical than your "improvisations" :S
@rolipoli really? maybe you just don't listen to the music or not, but i'm a better pianist than you. if i posted the classicals that i play, you wouldn't believe it. rachmaninoff etudes, chopin etudes, some debussy, the bach fugues... i've recorded in vegas. what i post is child's play.
wow yews can play piano 2!! I keed. Relax, am not THAT racist haha only Muslims. Jeez stop taking me so seriously!. Anywayz, this is awesome. This sounds great, I enjoyed listening. Keep it up :)
well done!!!. rubinstein played it the best i think, but you can give this nocturne a little bit from a perfect interpretation. just a little bit if i compare you with rubinstein ... but in case you are not a professional pianist, wonderful. you get the feeling...
Kuriliov: how do you have the audacity to make a comment like that. If you have negative comments to make, look at your own uploaded videos. There's plenty of negative things you can say about yourself
@ Kuriliov: Shut up with your stupid comment, and show us osme of your 'great pianowork' instead of moaning around like a grumpy bastard on Youtube. Nathan here puts a delicate piece of music, and if it is imperfect, well what isn't imperefect? Imperfection is the very base of nature. Chopin also made his mistakes. Perfectionism exists only in the heads of some bureaucrats and dictators, perfectionism is an awful meaning.
@ Kuriliov hey retard.....maybe youd better lean how to spell rhythm before commenting on his....youre full of shit and have no clue what youre even talking about
learn how to spell well and start with grammar basics and then start trying to spell rhythm
@tan73h You know for some reason, I thought someone was going to make a comment like "LOLOL YOUR JEWSHI!" but you managed to make that statement better.
It was ok. I think there could have been a lot more done. Some important high tension points were overlooked. Not bad for self-taught but there were several rhythmical errors, and loss of syncopation, and off notes. You might want to read over. I agree with the comments made on the tone. It is not balanced from the shoulder. These are things that any well trained pianist should easily be able to see in your playing. Again, not bad for a self taught. But could have been better.
You guys should stop giving thumbs down to people who are pointing out your weaknesses. They are simply speaking the truth, and the mistakes they pointed out are ones that any trained piano player can see. The player can then take their constructive critisms the right way and try to improve in the areas he's lacking.
at the start the right hand just sounds weak....because you are pressing with finger...press with whole arm...it must be much quieter, but much crisper...
too much finger pressing....do not press finger....stiff finger, falling arm...this is how you control the tone. this is how you keep the left hand from dominating the right hand, as well...
@Kaggypants keep your finger stiff, and just let the weight of your arm press the note...use gravity. You get a softer, more even tone that way. Dont actually move any of your finger joints...just roll the wrist with stiff fingers to press the other notes. When you press with the finger joints instead, the tone is more stacatto, if you want that...but it usually just sounds bad, imo, for the base in nocturnes
@idlenessss Thank you for clarifying. :) Yes it does sound bad! I've been trying to figure out a way to stop my left hand from completely overpowering my right hand's tone in many pieces. I think I just got my answer! Thanks again.
i dont want to talk about all the mistakes, but about yout rhythm.why do you play so many notes at the wrong place in the slow part?(f.e.bar 5,9,14...).
in the fast part the first two lines complete wrong rhythm.there are many other important things.you should take a real good teacher, then you will play really good, but at the moment every muscian can hear whats going on.
Self-taught? Incredible! I watched this twice (and after a few videos of Horowitz no less!). I (truly) look forward to more of your videos and I have subscribed. There was one thing I noticed, but perhaps another day and another time I'll comment on it. I took childhood piano lessons but am self-taught on clarinet. I like your Chopin very much.
If I'm not mistaken the part you're thinking of is actually A-Flat major. At the end the key signature returns to C# minor but the writing contains many E#s indicating an actual key of C# Major.
Bravo.

Very nice. You were probably trained quite young to get to this point. How long would it take for someone to master this piece? Thanks so much

Nocturne is a track that should flow. If you refine the tempo and dynamics (which is where a good performance but listen Pollini) it will be perfect.

The quaver triplets are not in time, makes the music a bit whacky.
Also, your too-strong base spoil the caressing and singing nature of the top part.

No it returns to the original key of C# after the D flat section and octaves.

What is the black key right below d? C# or D flat!
paiwacky 4 years ago
that's a great question! it's both of them ;]

it dipends on what key your in
klavierspielerin83 3 years ago
It goes into Db when the tempo speeds up, and returns to C#m when the left hand repeats what it played in the beginning.
