  • 1:47 SO true. I have two balinese kittens and their mom and it's a constant battle between loving them as much as i can and keeping their ego's in check !

  • Indoor cats have a higher lifespan than outdoor cats or ones that are allowed out. It's just not worth the risk.

  • The lack of an undercoat is also really nice if you're an allergy sufferer like myself yet still want a fuzzy companion. They also produce less of the protein I'm allergic to making this type of breed a cat I would love to have in my home!

  • You can always give your kitty the best of both worlds ^_^ You can build outdoor enclosures for your cat to "explore" and "experience the outside world" in, but all in safety :) Also, if you have a fenced in area, & are watching your cats & outside with them, I don't see anything wrong with letting them out that way for a little bit of adventure.

And if you have the room (and the $) you can always make a cat room that incorporates lots of plants and access to fresh air, while still being safe.

  • my parents have 3 balinese!!!

  • They are so cute!

  • YES AND YES AND YES!!! You have said it so well. It is not safe outside for cats and they should never be allowed out.

The Balinese are darling but I do love my noisy, active Siamese.

All cats are sacred, though, no matter their bloodline. I want them all safe and happy!

  • I'd like an active cat, but I'm away a lot(work all day, allweekend sometimes), so I will have to go for a quiet one, and then two, they can keep each other company.

  • They do shed, I wouldn't say that 90-95% don't shed. I've had 3 of them. My baby Aja is a seal point with pretty long hair. She's 17

  • Very nicely done! I've been working w/ Balinese since 1972.

  • My two Balinese are the best cats ever!!!!!

  • That's a beautiful cat.

  • rock on keep it up :)

  • 2:20 looks like cross-eyed lol...cute cat though

  • I have a 12 month old Balinese named Picasso. He is just the most gorgeous and energetic little thing. We play a game where he wrestles with my hands; clawing and biting them. He wrestles vigorously, yet he is so gentle he NEVER opens a scratch on my skin. Affectionate little guy :) My favourite cats!!!

  • the cat at 2:22 is stunning , its colors its face shape just stunning wow .

  • @KAIIIYO You're right, but I like the grey-nosed one at 2:25. Oh god, I am such a sucker for dark, silky haired cats with smooth color blanding. Like I just fell in love with the Russian Blues in one of their other vids, then came here and fell in love with these kitties! I am powerless against them all. :(

  • @JapanForSale russian blues are my favorite breed ever ! i own one i can tell you its the most loving smart amazing cat i have ever had .. too bad he's really old now

but i love gray cats the most especially rb's i can see myself having like 4 when i get older lol

i also like cats that are gray with black or white stripes

  • Balinese were named after the Bali dancers & their flowing robes. The number of long hairs that appear (even today) in *pure* short hair blood lines are too few to substantiate any claims that the the long hair gene can be traced back to Thailand & the original temple cats.

  • Your history of the Balinese is not 100% accurate. Balinese originated in the USA & were 1st exported to the UK in the 1970s, I can name the 1st exports. Otherwise the examples presented are beautiful cats, it is nice to see the breed well represented. Su-Bali & KLM - established 1972, CFA Breed Council Secretary,

  • How can you say that you love cats and them keep them indoors? It is like saying that you love your kids but they can not play outsude for they might get hurt. It is unnatural and cruel.

    Zenzooi

  • I agree. Cats have instincts, and living indoors is very unnatural for them. They should at least have another cat to keep them company.

  • Me too. Totally indoor cats tend to turn lazy. My cat Martha sleeps all day.

  • @SpongLena Cats only become lazy if they're not provided with enough stimulation. It's not being indoor that does it, its due to the owner not taking the initiative to play with the cat. Letting it out is a lazy way of keeping it "fit". all you're doing is shortening its life, putting it at great risk.

  • @lexxwolfen misconception.some breeds are more active than others.

  • Instincts that are lost from indoor breeding. Purebreds aren't meant to be outside cats do to this.

  • ..acually they are keeping them safe. its not cruel. some sick bastards, like to harm or poision outdoor cats, some steal them for value, and some will go to anything because they are so nice. i wouldnt want my cat going to a great big rottie to get torn appart. my cats indoor as well. mainly cuz i know the people around here arnt that nice to animals

  • @LittleMissSorrow666 I have an outdorr cat that's lived for 13 years so far and the only fights he's gotten in were with other cats.

  • They all say that for purebred cats because they have been bred indoors to prevent cross or mix breeding. In doing so they lose their instincts to survive well outside.

  • @nienkefransisca Keeping your cat indoors keeps it safe from idiot people, cars, wild animals, weather, toxins/poisons in the ground, mosquitos that may carry disease, etc. If you hate your cat and dont give a rats ass about its safety and well being, by all means let it out. It's your kind of ignorance that leads to cats being run over, poisoned, tortured by sick humans and so on.

  • @lexxwolfen Also, just as people kidnap purebred dogs, someone may be tempted to try to steal an expensive purebred cat like that.

  • i have a male balinese he's 15 yrs old now. he's like a dog so intelligent and does things that keeps me wondering that he's really thinking.

If u like cats and are willing to put up some money on the table i would certainly recommend a balinese he or she will be ur companion for life and they are great with children too.

  • I got one. :D

  • I Love these cats! I had a balinese growing up - he passed away 3 years ago at the ripe old age of 15. He was one of my greatest friends - these cats are so in tune with human emotion and they are so gentle. He used to let my sister tackle him when she was a toddler and he wouldn't even flinch! You are a breeder - where are you located?

  • so cute!

  • Wow, I wish I had a balinese. Some day I will, I hope!

  • What a cool cat!

  • Thanks for posting this. Very informative. I had a brother and sister Balinese pair. They were my best friends, and lived to be in their early 20s.
