How did you learn to drive a 5spd?and i thought toyota was supposed to make "reliable" cars?! i guess not. haha well it is a 91' but that is weird i wonder why it had to have an engine swap?......
Lol i love my '91 but its been kept in a superb condition so it didnt get super shitty like the one you have there lol. i wish for a supra or the newer version celica
@Pizzapacman The fact this car even starts is proof of Toyotas quality, after the amount it's been driven and abuse it's been though any other car would be in a scrap yard!!
@HaloSpartan86 They are I have a '92 Celica Convertible 5 speed and it shares only one problem with this one and that is a torn seat and it has 170,000 miles on it still starts up better then my sisters '06 Chevy which is always in need of repair how well your car lasts depends on how you treat it considering the abuse this car has probably taken it is not running too horribly.
@HaloSpartan86 The fact this car even starts is proof of Toyotas reliability, after the amount it's been driven and abuse it's been though any other car would be in a scrap yard!!
Its the motor mounts on these. They may look ok, but will cause the car to vibrate like all hell. It wasn't until all four were replaced that it stopped
@TheFordguy98 I had one of those drove it to 200k, anyway mine used to stall on every stop unless you kept it raved it up. I don't miss it at all. Could never get it to start during cold mornings and used to shake so bad, would give you a headache.
@julinization I don't know... I got my Celica going forward without hitting the gas pedal, my Celica is very lenient and I couldn't imagine other Celicas are any different. I do get a headache, though, its from the fumes most of the time.

im so sick of people ruining cars that could be fixed when there are people out there who could really use a car. Its rude, disrespectful, wasteful, and just plain stupid.
That car isn't that bad. I could go on. I'd take it over my old car.
Really nice car, unfortunatelly I'm not an adult. Soon I will have my driving licence, then thinking about something easy to maintain, such as Lanos Daewoo 1.5 or Punto 1.2 FIRE, then Eclipse GSX 1990 ;)) So niceee
Sounds like the previous owners did not take good care of the car. A car should not need a new engine with "only" 168,000 miles. If you change the oil regularly and you don't abuse the car, you should be able to get 200,000-250,000 miles out of any engine, easily, or more. I have seen many Toyotas with 250-300K miles on the original engine and they are not as beat up as this car.
I think that car still has a bit of life left in it. It's too bad Kyle's lot wasn't selling it because I would have bought it for $400 and fixed it up.
I have a 1970 Ford Galaxie with 130,000 since I owned it. Who knows how many miles are on that car, it only has a five digit odometer! Car runs fine, passes smog, no smoke, great mileage (20mpg on a 4000 lb sedan!). These jap crap cars are disposable junk. Did I mention that the FOrd was $3100 new in 1970? That Toyota cost way more new, even if you factor inflation.
i have a celica year 2000 gt and when i start the engine early in the morning it starts but shakes then dies but the sec time i start it, it purrs in such a great start tho when i drive over 50 or or jus push the gas to much like hard and make it sound like a race car when im sittin on the inside of the car, the engine shakes dunno y but i luve my celica cause its my first car =D and im 17
hey wars, the motor would shake when you rev it up high because of the motors torque... it is totally normal for cars to do this. i have a 1991 celica st with a 1.6L 4 cylinder in it and it shakes when rev'd also... your newer celica to my knowlege has a 6 cylider, so in turn it would have more torque than mine... therefore it would shake more.
at almost 40 MPG and bieng a convertible that car is worth a guaranteed $1000 to anyone. new power steering pump/ or ac compressor and 2 front struts and shocks and that car is ready to roll.
@yamahonkawazuki Yep, especially a Toyota, one of the finest quality cars meant to last. It ESPECIALLY Troubles me when I see people abuse their Lexus. Those cars are reliable to them, so why do they treat them like crap?
that whine sounds like the same one i had, turned out it was an AC compressor bearing...could be the alternator as well, heard a couple people experience that.
side note, the clock was dim probly cause the headlights were on, thats what happens to my truck, the lights on the radio fade out when my lights are on
Its good to see not everybody has been caught up with the automatic transmission hype, afterall the car would have already conked had it been an auto.
this car also has some really hot a/c, and really cold heat, it has a working radio, clock, since i said just come on in and drive it it now has 56789329581385727528578523852396571387285725723857287575575752378875238957239807508927529385623789562389457289572380957238572385723857238572305823532420572357323089 miles on it. this car is brand new!!! every thing works like new so come on in and drive it to africa!!!!!!!!!!!
hahaha no offense but man i think your too used to your plush lexus aint a thing wrong with that car that some time and a few hundred bucks could fix heck there be alot of folks even me who would be happy to have a car that runs even if its a beater just cuz it has a few things wrong with it dont mean its junk but i do get a laugh at how you point out all the wrong on the car but anyways good video id take it off your hands if i had the money
Man this thing has well over $1000 dollars in repairs, we already checked lol, another purpose of this was that we do not sell stuff like this, I mean someone will probably buy it to fix it up but it has a lot of issues to attend to that we are just not able to do. I'm not nocking others or anything like that man haha, and it's not that I'm "used to my lexus" LOL, if someone wants to buy it then go for it, but FOR US, the car is not worth spending the money to fix it to sell.
yeah man i can understand it not being dealer quality seems to run fine though to me at least id give ya few hundred if i had it lol didnt mean to sound offensive in my last comment either just sounded like you was kinda knockin the car cuz of the shapes its in but yeah good car for someone to fix up no doubt
If I didn't know this was a Toyota I would think it was a Honda Motor

Oh ok, the clutch was so so I mean you had to bring it out far for it to catch, it probably could've used a new one but i didn't really have problems

hahaha no offense but man i think your too used to your plush lexus aint a thing wrong with that car that some time and a few hundred bucks could fix heck there be alot of folks even me who would be happy to have a car that runs even if its a beater just cuz it has a few things wrong with it dont mean its junk but i do get a laugh at how you point out all the wrong on the car but anyways good video id take it off your hands if i had the money
