the reason why mac is so popular in college is because only rich people go to college. if you polled the whole world, including working class, who probably use their computers for more stuff, it is WAY more pc users.
The processors are the same, Dell has 1 more GB of memory, and the video card on the Dell is a nVidia GeForce GT 220, 1024MB whereas the video card on the Mac Pro was NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB.

I used to use mac all the time in music production and film which it had a good set up for but if you want to change that set up or program something better it's not going to happen in all the ways you want it to. It doesn't "need" Microsoft's software. Microsoft releases Office for Mac to sell more of Office. Apple has iWork for Mac to use instead of Office. Did you even see the commercial "Office Stress?"

I have a mac, only thing that annoys me about it is that there are a lot of websites with downloads that are only for PCs and programs that I want that are only for PCs, so to me it's the only downside.

Well I think it is really sad that a company makes advertisment making fun of an other, and putting them selvs over the other, i mean cant they make their own advertisment! have you ever seen a car advertisment in which they tell the audience that their car is saver than a merzedes for example!! no beacause they have honor not like apple

Meh, for $1000 less than a Mac you can get a PC with blue ray, Core i7, 1333 MHz RAM, and 1 GB hard drive all of which Macbook Pros can't do yet.
Yes it's full Bluetooth, Wireless N, built in camera and mic, backlit keyboard, 500 GB 7200 RPM HD, Microsoft Office and Win 7, plus PCs are 90% so this ad makes no sense.
I have nothing against Macs, but my PC has been great, and it was a great deal, $900 for about what a $1650 Macbook pro is.

It doesn't "need" Microsoft's software. Microsoft releases Office for Mac to sell more of Office. Apple has iWork for Mac to use instead of Office. Did you even see the commercial "Office Stress?"

you know what i've noticed, everytime a dude that likes pc says "i like gaming etc,etc" a mac user always recomends either the Wii, or ps3, never the 360.. perhaps 'cause they're microsoft haters and not just Windows haters??? :D point proven.

@DonZaloog88 lol normally i suggest dual-booting the mac with windows so u can get the best of both worlds? i gues im the exception that proves the rule eh? ;) (P.s. i own an xbox AND a mac and they stream to eachother quite nicely :P)
