  • @africanmila oh...ok thx!!!

  • is that google sketch up 8??

  • like metal, you turn it into sort of mesh.and u can manippulate the x,y,z. it may look displaced, so take a closer look...remember clean up as ur manipulating the poly's accord.

there is more, to this but ..look at the intersecting with model clicks he does, and then the clean up..he doesn't vary to far from the menu.like repetition.....FYI..4 ya..

  • 1.u draw the profiles. all 4 sides.

2.push pull, the faces accordanly..mind alot of rotating, and moving

3.interserting the 2-pieces..and clearing out what you dont need..alot of clicking...rotating and stuff.so be ready.

    4. repeat for every profile. cleaning at the same time...don't need it ..errase.....

5.aligning your so callled polygons to the profiles.alot of clicking and draging.l

  • too fast

  • O thank God there is a short video that explains it :)

  • Great video. But, you sorta cheated. You used blue prints and traced them. But it was still a nice video :D

  • hey dude pls. slower its too fast

  • @Mastermazak I'm not going to make this video again, but if it helps, you can pause and rewind.

  • @Mastermazak how did u double it the half? coz this vid was sooo helpful

  • how do you copy your side please help

  • @Theuppriser221 go to the Google sketchup help section and type your problem or look for my username: nivracer, you can copy and past this: sketchup.google.com here is the steps: 1: click the link 2: hit help 3: hit ask a question 4:hit the red button (ask a question). i think you can take it from there (;

  • Nice video, but there's a lot of details left out. For instance, windows, doors, mirrors, and lights etc. It's still a great tutorial and helped me get the hang of this

  • Thank you

  • Hey, nice video. But please slow it down a little bit. It's hard to see what you are doing...

  • hey i want to make A Game :D can i use this models?

  • great job!!

  • @StargateAtlantisFan4 Hye it easy just drag the image to the sketchup :)

  • nice car i prefer american muscle but Aston martins are in a league of there own.

  • @thesebflynn Its a ferrari GTO.I know...nobodys perfect bro

  • umm... this is a toyota - not a ford mustang

  • is that Aa Shelby Daytona coupe? Nice choice of car.

  • i dun get it....I see you drawing the lines but how do you make it grey then make it 3d and stuff -______-

  • thanks for teaching me how to not want to make a car in google sketchup

  • @DJpitchbenderz seems like you dont know how a CAD program works

  • To all of you who can't find the image you have to be sure that you've selected the right file type.

  • how do you get jpg images there? Do you use a plugin or something?

  • i love you.

  • When I try to rotate the body of the car, (it's flat) to go sideways and go on top of the other half top, it won't turn. When I use the rotater, it selects one point rather than the whole car and when I use the move tool to rotate it, it just moves around in a circle. Need help!

  • How do you drag it out once you have traced over it??

  • Does "intersect faces" work the same way?

  • yeh a bit too much effort for me !!!

  • Wow you make it look so hard the first minute trying to trace out the car. Might scare people away expecting this to be a tutorial when its being done by someone thats not to familiar with the software, or more obviously barely any experience.

  • what about the wheeles

  • can u show how to draw a car without the aid of the blueprint that u r using & pls add a audio instruction in ur next vid

  • can u show how to draw a car without the aid of the blueprint that u r using

  • kinda sucks that you have to pay for the blueprints dontcha think? Great video though.

  • i can't import the JPG it wound finds it

  • What do you save it as when you have Google SketchUp 8?

  • @kuku335 save what as

  • @kuku335 do you mean the end bit like .skp? because when i saved mine it saved it as "car.skp"

  • @kuku335 If you want to see your saved files go to File(Top Left) and the press Open...You will be able to see the files you saved with the name you gave them....dubble click on them to open....If you do a work and you computer turns off while you do this job you will see a file called Autosave_(The name off the save). If you havent saved your work it will called Autosave_Untitled

  • i cant make it a jpg file, mine stays on jpeg??? any advice?

  • thanks bro, didn't know about the intersect fuction.

  • nice

  • Great, if you want to generate a paper cut-out looking car. I want curves! Thanks for the idea though.

  • ertu íslenskur?

  • @krillicool

    Jámm ;)

  • @sokkaperri ohh gaur töff

  • @krillicool Urtur hurtur burtut :D

  • I can't see any yellow button anymore!!!

  • @Picu97 hes talking about the old subscribe button :)

  • this is amazing mate thank youu

  • you get blueprints free no registering needed

  • Problem with the video, I hear no audio commentary.

  • @StargateAtlantisFan4

Just grab the jpg and drop it in sketchup

  • After you trace around the blueprint you carve up the outline to make it turn grey. It looks like you're hitting the compontent key before you erase each line, but I get a popup about components when I do that. Am I missing something?

  • which blueprint is the one u used here??

  • how are you supposed to make the details this way?

  • @Chris90skates you can actually make the details using the same method like making the body..

  • nice video it helped me a lot but i misssome things in your video, like ' how to make the tires' or the lights. i all did it by myself now but i missed it very much. anyway nice good job XD

  • great work

  • dude that was amazing i didnt even know half those tricks.. nice job

  • It's SketchUp 6 or SketchUp 7 ?

  • i have the same problem

when i go to the picture folder, there is no picture!

    whatever format (png, Jpg, gif,...)

the video is good, but here and there a little bit to fast ;)

  • great

  • zmodler is so much better for models in game

  • I knew this was posible1 I just didn't know how!

    thanks a lot! ^^,

  • what about the wheels

  • @000MMproductions theres a circle button that makes it good enough to make wheels

  • @guitar1195 you did a great job on this

  • the best car I ever made on sketchup was an 80s futuristic minivan, and it isn't even as good as these.

  • Wow! And guess what!? It worked for me this time! I realized in Sketchup 7 it allows it to work better and is more made for this type of stuff! Thanks a lot man!

  • @StargateAtlantisFan4 What you do is you look in files of type it says sketchup files change it to jpeg files then you will be able to import

  • hey i cant put pics in

  • what did he do at 3:23

  • Where do u get pictures like the one u used.

  • thanks

  • hatta er eitt fínt vid

  • When I intersect it just makes a hole... help...

  • n1 ;-)

    5/5*

  • Lovely tutorial, the only one that made some sense. Okay, now I made the model car, so I believe the next step would be filling in the details. Could you kindly make a video that would cover that ? (the colors, the shades and all that shebang?) I am actually new to 3d, VERY new :P Thank you for the efforts :)

  • What type of car is this? I want the same type so I can also create it on Google sketchup.

  • @StargateAtlantisFan4 Thansk for the comment :) When you say you can't import it do you mean when you select the file and then click import do you get a message that tells you that you can't import JPGS's? Or are you having a problem finding the image file?

  • @sokkaperri i cant get it either i just cant find the file in my documents or the pictures folder

  • @trueamericanidiot28 make sure you change the file format on the list below whether it's JPEG or TARGA or something, you got to do that unless sketchup won't show you the JPEG file or TARGA images you uploaded

  • @sokkaperri im having the same problem...i have tried saving it in a lot of different locations on my computer, but everytime, it says it cant import the jpg....help?

  • @sokkaperri i have same prob. it doesnt let me see the image at all, everthing comes up just not the image

  • when i see this i'm so lol at "from a box" modeling :D

  • Nice tutorial man! But when I trace on the lines to add it always goes to the straight axes or it just does not curve well but it looks like you just select tool and click away curved lines... how are you doing that? I know there is the curve tool.. is that what your using?

  • You've to buy the blueprints,, or have you are tric for that?

  • When i did this for the first time (about an year ago, i only had to register to the website, i didn't have to buy anything :D

  • I checked the website and i think you only have to register, the 'register' button is in the top right corner.

  • @GolfJ2 you can just choose the blue print then save as image

  • @GolfJ2 the-blueprints(dot)com its loads of blueprints there ;)

  • @GolfJ2 Just Go Right Click at the blueprint then click save picture as and thats It :D

  • @GolfJ2 You just have to right click and save the picture. That's what I did.

  • is there a way to delete the lines?

  • Not that i have heard of it.. but the fastest way i know of is to use the eraser

  • @sokkaperri Drag over the ara and right click delete

  • Yes, that works unless you're dealing with really small lines and you could acidentaly select a surface when you want to select a line.

  • man, that is genious! I will try it out right now! :D

  • thanks :)

  • Comment removed

  • Ofcourse not. This is supposed to show the average Joe how to do this ;)

  • Nevermind (i just read the video info)

  • ok, can you post a URL for where I can get that uuh, what looks to me like an engineering blueprint of a 1960s era Exotic car that's most likely of Italian origin like Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Ferrari, Fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati, & MANY More, (...those are just the brands that people who haven't ever left the United States may have possibly heard of before.) but a URL to that image you're using would be great sokkaperri
