cougars are more flexible/stronger then wolves, and when wolves are young, they leave to find a new pack to prevent inbreeding, and can often be alone for a year or so. cougars are better equiped to fight, and dont make much of a lone wolf.

Everyone saying "BS, THE WOLF WOULD'VE HAD HIS PACK!" needs to read the title. WOLF vs. Cougar, not WOLVES vs. Cougar. It was testing one-on-one, not how you'd naturally find the Wolves. And on one-on-one, the Wolf would get his butt kicked, though maybe not as fast. Pack effort, the Cougar would lose. Honestly, I like both the animals, but the fact remains that Cougars do pick off and eat Wolves in real life, that being yet another reason why they need a pack.

Wolf: 3ft tall at the shouldar

6ft long, No claws, but a bite of 1500lbs

Up to 150lbs or more. Has a ton of stamina can run up to 40 mph

Cougar 2 1/2 ft at shouldar Has claws but a bite of 700 lbs

roughly up to 7ft long. Lacks stamina can run up to 35 mph

Both animals have their advantages and disadvantges, and The wolf would not have died from just being scratched and thrown to the ground. Hope i helped.

Also I hate how this show depicts the cats as being so Immobile, I mean look at the cougar it hardly moved just walked arounf slowly and lay down a couple of times and when it heard the other wolves comming it just stud there. I though cats were a bit more atheletic than that?
