To answer your questions, yes usually the SAD boxes do light up the whole room, bearing in mind that the larger the light panel, the further the light will carry.
Absolutely these lights can be used for arts and crafts, I have used my light for this reason before. However, to begin with you should not use the light for more than an hour, until you get used to the intensity of the light. Your work will be more enjoyable, and these lights will defintely brighten up your day!

1] Do these SAD light boxes light up the whole room?
2] Can they also be used for art & craft?
Im mainly looking for a art & craft light but if it makes me feel better in the winter then its a bonus!
