No, it's got the thinner handguards, the m4 has thicker handguards with more heatshielding. It also has a shorter barrel and a flash hider that was on some of the models of the CAR-15 SMG (for instance, the Colt model 629). Also note the fixed carry handle, almost all M4s have detachable carry handles, with a Picatinny rail underneath.
It is heavily customized, whatever it is. Pretty sure no gun was ever put into production with that receiver and that flash hider.

The M4 has a 14.5" barrel, civilian copies will be 16", but this one has a barrel that goes just ever so slightly past the front sight block, pegging it at around 11".

and by the way when a gun like this over heats u dont get burned! the barrel gets so hot(which is covered by the material of the gun) that it will either worp or start to cook off rounds without u pulling the trigger
The heat coming off of the barrel will burn your hand first. The steel of a gun barrel goes red hot at above 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat radiates, it will heat up the handguards, and if you fire enough rounds, the handguards will get hot to the touch. That will happen far before the rounds cook off or the barrel warps.
ok this we r not gonna agree on the polymer covering the barrel isnt touching it i believe it might be but i think its about 1/4" away from the barrel while it will get hot i dont think it will burn ur skin unless u go out one day with some drum mags and intentionally tested it which if u live any where near PA we can try it split the price of the ammo i have reloading equip so will b a little cheaper......check out my vids
