I was there for that too except I was stuck up on the bridge. Next few days were wild though. I remember going down the AC &R shop for cleanup and seeing some dude's PS3 melted flat. The crazy thing is that the space just outside the room with the cableway that fire started in was packed with acetylene and propane tanks. That fire could have been a lot worse.

Any human being who has a soul and moral values would do anything to save those for guys! i was on the ship also, and even though i dind't fight the fire, i did everything that i could to help those who actually were putting their lives on the line "not for the ship" but for the guys who were trapped! that is the TRUE meaning of Honor Courage and Commitment!!!

i was on the boat for that too. it smelt like smoke and the food tasted like smoke for weeks. im an IC, and it took forever to get my systems up and running. this isnt my account though

i was on this ship for that fire. in fact im a navy firefighter, so that day and the following days were wild. so many fires. was a lot of fun for me, luckily no one got hurt

How can you say that was fun... For hours we thought there were dead bodies in shaft alley. People were trying to cut through bulkheads to get to them. Yeah it is real fun when a 10 story fire breaks out in the middle of the ocean and we think crew members are dead. Either grow up and pull your head out of your a** for making comments like that or you weren't even there. I was there and no one thought that was fun. And just because you are DC you weren't the only one fighting the fires.

no one thought there were dead bodies in the shaft alleys. the 4 people stuck were in pump room 3, and i was up on the second deck helpin the people that went down to cut through the bulkhead. no one was dead, and all of us that arent morons knew that. now, try to apply some common sense and realize i wasnt talkin about while the fires were happening, that i meant when all was over and everyone was ok, it was fun. and try to know what you're talkin about before you open your big fuckin mouth

Ok when people are responding and communicating and then all communication ceases and there is no response for quite some time one possibility is that they are dead. And to say that NO ONE thought they were dead is an ignorant statement. And I know exactly what I am talking about because while you were up on the second deck helping people I was down on the 4th, 5th, 6th decks actually on a fire team. And it was a blast eating MRE's, no AC and having half the ship in darkeness.

Talk to the people who were sleeping on the deck in some random spot because they couldn't go back to their berthing. And if no one thought they were dead or severely injured then why cut through bulkheads and everything else? I know exactly what I am talking about.
