Events trigger when someone is nearby them, not automatically. Whether or not it's made to be a single person event is entirely dependent on the event. And yes, WoW does suck balls.

The gamers know that when you are hooked on a game like WoW (like i was) you do not skip 4 weeks of gaming.
The only thing not taken into account is the on-line buying and download (which i forgot, sorry) but this could not have gone over 2 million (average compaired to retail on previous expansions is 30% max).

@vernonasian First of all, neither of the two Guild Wars games that are out right now only have 5 classes. GW has 10 classes; GW2 has 9 classes. All classes have their own ways to heal, which I like. I've played wow for a while, and the good healers all develop a god complex, while the bad healers hold everyone back. But hey, those rehashed boss fights in 4.3 are some fun boss fights (sarcasm). And yes, I have actually completed Dragon Soul. Shits easy.

GW2 has the looks and i will give it try when one of my other friends buy it first. I am not a fan of every player running around with the same looking weapons, armors. Yeah you get new stuff as you do certain in game crap but its only to make your character look different / armor dye. Like i said i will give it a try when i gets here if that ever happens but unless they give me more of a stand out feature no cash from to them.

just to mention, you have transmutation stones in the game which let you combine weapons for the appearance of one and stats of another so you can customise that weapons and armour.
on top of that you can dye your armour, each armour can be dyed any combination of three colours with over 400 colours to choose from.

I've played GW, WoW, Diablo I & II, Warhammer and Aion. To me they all have positives and negatives. GW 1 is my favorite MMORPG by far and I was very sad to discover that GW2 will be an open-world MMORPG just like WoW.

@MMOGrey It's hard for people to raid and the tactics changes so much for every boss. Blizzard makes every boss unique and they have rare tactics and co-op like throwing rods to another player that freezes the player who carries the rod. Its actually been an issue where players fall behind when guild groups go too far ahead in the learning process of encounters. So blizzard thought of that before making the 4.3 raid by making an easier 25-man version meant for pugs so they'll have the raid exp.
@ZombieCore16 that's the actual problem,everything is too static in a boss combat,bosses don't adapt to the battle,they don't use new tricks,that's what i was talking about,i wasn't talking about the variety of boss fights.
@MMOGrey I don't understand you. At first you say things about co-op and skill, then you say that the boss should have an if senario where they change their mind in combat. I just told you how WoW bosses have their own signiture move that has a lot to do with co-op. I know that theres a boss in WoW that has a different encounter per week by switching what dragons are awake and what are asleep.
@MMOGrey Well according to the number of wipes to the number of successful pugs, making the bosses smarter would be terrible. WoW also makes bosses at a fast rate compared to the programming difficulty of GW2 bosses. And the bosses in WoW are just fine because it was always catching people offgaurd anyways. Hakar from zulgurub for example, watching the ground, recognizing position and making sure healer isn't overrun by adds simultaneously is more than good enough challenge for re-run.

a) Each and every person in the raid doesen't know the tactics

@MMOGrey True, in pugs. Thats where you have mistakes. Guild groups like pentagon is the next step. You still have to see how GW2 plays out. And judging by the death penalty of being healed by all the guys around you after death (when you're still alive at 0 health) and have no corpse running penalty, just waypoints. Why would you care if you died? Get kicked out of the event? In dynamic events, theres no need of communication nor co-op. Baddies do whatever and no one would care.

@MMOGrey I know all about that, including the death penalty. When you die, it shows you on the radar so everyone around you just picks you back up. And the things you just pointed out are all about the "no-roles" they've made. Where everyone has 1 heal and the rest are attacks. Unless you specialize yourself in healing 'perhaps' if they design it that way.
Since it's not out yet, it's clearly pathetic to say it would be better and 'assume' GW2 will be better in everything they do different.

The stuff you see in the demo is repeated over and over just to give the players enough stuff to explore, hence the reason it's called a "demo'. ArenaNet is going to make a fun mmo (unlike wow). With GW2 and Tera Online coming out early next year (hopefully), i don't see much of a future for WoW beyond alot of Panda's and an extreme loss of player subscriptions. I sure as fuck won't be paying a monthly fee for WoW when GW2 is F2P after the initial purchase. lol And fuck, Tera just looks fun as hell, not to mention beautiful. I've played GW, WoW, Diablo I & II, Warhammer and Aion. To me they all have positives and negatives. GW 1 is my favorite MMORPG by far and I was very sad to discover that GW2 will be an open-world MMORPG just like WoW.
I probably won't even get it because of this fact (mostly because I find most people very annoying).
Anyways, yes, it will probably be great, it just will not be like GW 1.

@MMOGrey It's hard for people to raid and the tactics changes so much for every boss. Blizzard makes every boss unique and they have rare tactics and co-op like throwing rods to another player that freezes the player who carries the rod. Its actually been an issue where players fall behind when guild groups go too far ahead in the learning process of encounters. So blizzard thought of that before making the 4.3 raid by making an easier 25-man version meant for pugs so they'll have the raid exp.

@MMOGrey I don't understand you. At first you say things about co-op and skill, then you say that the boss should have an if senario where they change their mind in combat. I just told you how WoW bosses have their own signiture move that has a lot to do with co-op. I know that theres a boss in WoW that has a different encounter per week by switching what dragons are awake and what are asleep.

@MMOGrey Well according to the number of wipes to the number of successful pugs, making the bosses smarter would be terrible. WoW also makes bosses at a fast rate compared to the programming difficulty of GW2 bosses. And the bosses in WoW are just fine because it was always catching people offgaurd anyways. Hakar from zulgurub for example, watching the ground, recognizing position and making sure healer isn't overrun by adds simultaneously is more than good enough challenge for re-run.

a) Each and every person in the raid doesen't know the tactics
b) The leader is just an angry noob
c) People don't listen to the leader.
A good example for c) would be Lord Marrowgar ,back in Lich King where people don't run out of his cold flame and die and after that blame the healer.Also in L.M when u tell people not to go too far bcuz he's gonna spike them ,they do that.

@MMOGrey True, in pugs. Thats where you have mistakes. Guild groups like pentagon is the next step. You still have to see how GW2 plays out. And judging by the death penalty of being healed by all the guys around you after death (when you're still alive at 0 health) and have no corpse running penalty, just waypoints. Why would you care if you died? Get kicked out of the event? In dynamic events, theres no need of communication nor co-op. Baddies do whatever and no one would care.

@MMOGrey I know all about that, including the death penalty. When you die, it shows you on the radar so everyone around you just picks you back up. And the things you just pointed out are all about the "no-roles" they've made. Where everyone has 1 heal and the rest are attacks. Unless you specialize yourself in healing 'perhaps' if they design it that way.
Since it's not out yet, it's clearly pathetic to say it would be better and 'assume' GW2 will be better in everything they do different.

@ZombieCore16 actually it's not called specializing,gw2 is not meant to be a static game like wow with a assigned tank,healer and dps.According to the battle everyone(or almost everyone) will be able to tank heal and dps.For example let's say me and my group are just dpsing normal mobs,when out of nowhere comes a boss and almost kills us all.In that situation some can change to a healing set a skills,for example the engineer can change to a med kit and heal an so on.as I said wow static gw2 not

@Zachylolz The fight with the shatterer is repeated over and over for demo purposes. The events change themself and the world around them. I don't see anything boring about it. This is not WoW...

@TheSupremeLeader1 It's definately going to be interesting for a very long time but probally not up until a fully new and polished exspansion comes out, everything gets boring after a while and i don't want it to happen ever. I don't ever want to see centaurs in a base and people just roll their eyes and walk away. EVER but unfortunately i think it might :/

@Zachylolz Nah it won't trust me and I think it might have some new ideas anyway. But for now I can't say for sure all thinking goes by Arena Net :P. But for now just play GW2 it awesome, everything is new, anti-grind, no more traditional same type quest, no more 10 kill, no more KS, no more holy trinity, no more everyone doing same story as you, got personal story and many more!. That what make it so interesting :P

@Zachylolz The events change. They make new ones and change the old ones. The stuff you see in the demo is repeated over and over just to give the players enough stuff to explore, hence the reason it's called a "demo'. ArenaNet is going to make a fun mmo (unlike wow). They actualy care about the players unlike some other people *cough cough Blizzard cough cough* ...

assuming you're part of the GW2 developing team and you have played and beaten the game already, how are you jumping to these conclusions? i never played GW1 but i'm dying to play GW2 you'd have to be a complete and total loser to get bored of it... this game is hands-down the best MMO rpg thus far considering the amount of different unique quest paths, customization, no subscription fees, vast environment, and most importantly, THE GRAPHICS, WoW's outdated

@roush158 Well firstly developers are people who hope it never gets boring, my opinion on this matter really can't be belittled. You're just excited for the game right now so to you it's "omg this game is amazing, it will never get boring, i'll play it forever" when that's exactly what WoW's players were like, and look now, they went from 12 million to 3 million, maybe even less now.
Fact is, people get bored of a game, it's fact. Even guild wars 2 in time. Yes it is a good game but still.

@Zachylolz i'm not saying that it's never-ending fun, but it definitely has a much longer and meaningful story line as opposed to WoW, and most of the reason why i'm anticipating the release is because i want to see a 2011-2012 newly developed MMO rpg in terms of graphic and game engines... WoW's graphics aren't bad, and its from 2004, so it's about time we see a new MMO
but what i'm trying to say is that i'm assuming that GW2 will be the new WoW, then something better will come out afterwards

You can't compair WoW vs GW2, Wow is old and did its time; now its time to move on people move on to a more modern game and free to play/In-game store content game. Hurry ArenaNet release GuildWars 2 already! Been patient far to long.

Im not poor or finacially unstable. 15$ is cheap, but why should I be forced to pay for a game that doesn't bring top notch quality? sit in ques for hours waiting to actually do something, my /played is mostly from sitting in sw or org waiting for a que.. lol
