With all the technologi today,he only uses Pro-One,Arp-2600 with arp sequencer,Jupiter-4 and of course TR-808 drums to do that album. He's a genious:-)respect.
The moment when that bass line kicks in... you know... the one where the buzz gets all the way under your skin and rattles you down to the core of your bones... the one that nearly hurts because it throbs so deeply. That has to be THE richest, most rewarding moment I've ever experienced at a live musical performance. It was absolute magic. Being intimately familiar with the song and having never heard it performed live before, it was pure joy. Euphoria.
Yes! I was at the gig in Hammersmith, London and had the same feeling when this song was played. The crowd on this vid seem quite quiet compared to the London gig. When the 2.03 'moment' started the crowd went crazy, I have never experienced anything quite like it and I doubt if I ever will again. It was like everyone was in awe of Vince's genius to make electronc music sound so amazing!
@tjcoolid We waited many years for that moment, dear tj. I know exactly how you feel. UAE is the greatest album of my life and to see them live made me understand the joy of being human. You could not have described the moment any better. Thank you,
@tjcoolid No doubt...that moment at 2:03 does make the hair on the back of your neck stand straight up... I really wish Vince would make the ending of this song about 30 minutes longer...I could seriously listen to it that long.
Also, props to whomever recorded this. This is the best audio of this live version on youtube.
This was also a highlight for me, as it has always been one of my favourite tracks. The moment Alison walks off, and that beautiful instrumental second half starts, sent chills down my spine. A great, no frills concert. Now waiting for the DVD!!! (Interesting detail: the "support act" DJ was chased off the stage, in the middle of his pretty pointless set, with people booing, shouting, hissing and waiving their Yazoo tickets in the air!).
This was my favorite song at the Beacon show. What an incredible experience to see this show after so many years. I can't get this concert out of my head and it's been a week since I saw it. Thanks for posting the video.
Yazoo is playing in Dallas, July 22, 2008 and I can't wait to see them reunited. I loved them so much back then because of how they defined who we were as individuals and I have a much greater apprectiation for them now. (i even named my dog of 18 years Yazoo!
you were sooo right! it was an experience of a lifetime. We were on the front row, right in front of Alison. You would have thought she was singing to us personally. My boyfriend, who didnt know who they were, went with me and he had a total appreciation for their music. It was bone chilling, emotional and all together the best trip down memory lane that i could have taken.
Bless your heart! My experience got even better. I made the crazy decision to head to Orange County from Miami for their final show. After the gig, a nice guy called Pepe and I searched for her and found her having drinks with her crew at her hotel near the Pacific Coast Highway. I took the picture of a lifetime and went to heaven. My page here has it posted.
what an awewsome experience. The picture of the two of you is great. I wish i would have taken my camera with me. I just didn't know what to expect when i went. perhaps we may have another chance to see this again. Didnt they say there was a video release this year or was it just an new album? I haven't either of them in the stores.
Excellent pic, you lucky lucky dawg!! Yaz came to my city and I was very excited when I found out. But, one of my best friends who also loved Yaz introduced me to their music in 1982 and has since passed-away. I know, had I gone to see Yaz, the flood of emotions would have been too strong and overwhelming for me to endure. But I absolutely LOVE their music. I appreciate your comment. -Steve
Halllllö!War es nicht geil?Teufel-hatten wir einen Spaß!!!Hast Du vielleicht auch ein paar pics machen können?Mein Handy war permanent am abstinken.Wäre ja fein!
