The reason why CoD fans generally can't like TF2 is they are easily satisfied with their generic shooter with no real difficulty. No amazing reason, nothing worth evaluating.
The main reason CoD players have a difficult transition to TF2 is simply that the environment is much less competitive and much more focused on having a good time laughing at silly hats or enjoying a rather funny death/kill. CoD doesnt have that friendly and fun atmosphere.

Stopped listening at around the 2:17 mark. If you don't have the correct team balance In a HIGHLANDER game, then yeah, you'd have a valid point. But pubs and shit you can win with anything. And its not your fault that your team are idiots playing sniper and spy. This is the F2P mindset. Get the team on your side, get them pushing better classes.

MrAyayob Any half-decent player wouldn't fall for a camper more than once... You can't camp in tf2 (unless you are a beast of a sniper) amd hope to go 30-0. Also you are not playing the objective, which is what the game is about...
Cod is a fairly generic game. You pick a class and you shoot stuff. Ooh shiny graphics!! Tf2 is fun even with the cartoony graphics. I play cod tf2 halo battlefield and minecraft and I've found that the ones that aren't all shiny are the funnest, mainly tf2 and minecraft. Tell infinity ward to make a more team angled game and I'll play it.
The problem with most CoD players is that CoD was their first shooter. While many of us had the opportunity to grow up on quake, unreal tournament, CS, and tribes, etc.., these children missed their opportunity to develop real fps skills like twitch, muscle memory and teamwork. CoD is purposely dumbed down so it's easy to learn, and in turn, appeals to more people. If you're good at CoD, congrats... so is everyone else.
I disagree, I'm fairly good at BF3, CoD and TF2. The thing which determines skill is how you play each game. A lot of CoD players are idiots who come in thinking they can run around the same way. I've seen the same issue the other way. People in TF2/BF3 will be much more static in their play style when they can't. Basic FPS skills transfer over such as aiming, movement and logistic placement. HOW you play the game does and that's often what's missed. I like all 3 games about the same BTW.
CoD is terrible, no team play, terrible community, terrible engine, terrible graphics, no destruction, no "free roam" style maps, no vehicles and killstreaks are just pointless.
Ehh, not true i'm a CoD player i came straight to TF2 thinking hey "im going to be a badass". Well it did happen i'm fucking amazing at that game "not bragging" but, the first game i had i got 40 kills 12 deaths in Payload Race. COD IS BETTER :)
@eddzorz the two games play very differently, it takes a different kind of skill to play TF2 and a different kind of skill to play COD and BF, team coordination and counters, BF2 and COD are more about shoot everything in sight. (it's not entirely true about BF2, but whatever)

@alex1994iscool Umm tf2 graphics are about ten times better on the pc, unless your pc is crap (or its, god forbid, a mac) The reason tf2 is better on pc is because its updated once a week. Tf2 on xbox is rarely updated because microsoft has restrictions for updates. Also the source engine was built for pc, meaning the controls are much tighter. Its almost impossible to rocket jump on xbox. Which is one of the soldiers most powerful tools.
i recently learned the thing with every team needs at least one of each class.. that's why i learned how to be medic and its actually fun when you really know what to do as one... and yeah i am "f2p". i really hate CoD because the only weapon i see is any thing that you can have akimbo on... its annoying as balls. my dad keeps saying: "play a better game like CoD!" and i say that tf2 is better because of the community and the game itself not because of the graphics.
To be serious: yes, both games require skill. But in CoD you can customize your weapons to ass-rape guns and just walk and kill. And there is also the most OP version of the sniper rifle, I´ve ever seen. In TF2 you will need you team to win, because there are no OP guns, there are no perks, there is your team, the opponent team and the objective. And if you don´t move your ass to the CP/Flag and take your goddamn team with you, you´ll get dominated faster than you can say the word "domination".

I've been kicked from a server before for spawn camping. Spawn camping is one of the reasons why the Medic class exists! Build up your Über in the spawn, hit a teammate (Preferably a Heavy, Soldier, Pyro, or Demoman), and kill all the nasty spawn campers while you're both Übercharged! It's that easy! It's TEAM Fortress, not Cry Fortress.
i must say, you do have a point. i love cod and tf2, and at times both are equally gay. But, CoD feels easier to me than tf2. Both games im a great sniper, but with all the perks in CoD make it a little easy. Heartbeat sensor and FNJ. pretty cheap.
I completely agree, other FPS games just require you to shoot each other and not hold any special positions useful for your team, and now we get more COD players then every with the stupid F2P update.
A lot of my friends tell me TF2 is too easy because it requires little skills, even those who hate most modern FPS games. I think TF2 actually requires more than skills. There's just that general communication aspect among others that makes TF2 such a special and different FPS.
I remember when I first got the orange box I loved half life, loved portal, and ignored tf2 cuz it was so cartoony. After watching my friend play he made it look fun. Now tf2 is my main game. I have more hours on it than any other game on my steam account and I'm still playing it, where as other games phase in and out. Tf2 is so god damn fun and it's always updating! May as well try it... it's free!

Basic skill from CoD doesn't transfer because CoD is skilless. In battlefield we got different classes, vehicles and RECOIL while CoD got first person too shoot. Halo is also slowpace gameplay and got more aiming and dodging into it, which CoD also lack. The only skill you transfer is how well you know the MOVEMENT CONTROLS. CoD is just a bad example.

I play Battlefield 3 it requires... A SHIT TON OF SKILL. Not just TF2 type skill. Like HARDCORE skill. Reason is because in battlefield 3 you have to deal with, Helicopters, Suicide Planes, Tanks, Cars, boats, and motars. It's actually VERY fucking not just a stroll the park sing and dance around with no care at all, it's a shitstorm of bombs bullets and tanks.
Because in TF2, you have no magic bullets that home in on your target, can't noobtube, can't quickscope, can't sprint around and spray bullets everywhere like a crackhead (without getting killed) and you can't aim down the sights for near-perfect accuracy.

@alex1994iscool Umm tf2 graphics are about ten times better on the pc, unless your pc is crap (or its, god forbid, a mac) The reason tf2 is better on pc is because its updated once a week. Tf2 on xbox is rarely updated because microsoft has restrictions for updates. Also the source engine was built for pc, meaning the controls are much tighter. Its almost impossible to rocket jump on xbox. Which is one of the soldiers most powerful tools.

i recently learned the thing with every team needs at least one of each class.. that's why i learned how to be medic and its actually fun when you really know what to do as one... and yeah i am "f2p". i really hate CoD because the only weapon i see is any thing that you can have akimbo on... its annoying as balls. my dad keeps saying: "play a better game like CoD!" and i say that tf2 is better because of the community and the game itself not because of the graphics.

To be serious: yes, both games require skill. But in CoD you can customize your weapons to ass-rape guns and just walk and kill. And there is also the most OP version of the sniper rifle, I´ve ever seen. In TF2 you will need you team to win, because there are no OP guns, there are no perks, there is your team, the opponent team and the objective. And if you don´t move your ass to the CP/Flag and take your goddamn team with you, you´ll get dominated faster than you can say the word "domination".

I've been kicked from a server before for spawn camping. Spawn camping is one of the reasons why the Medic class exists! Build up your Über in the spawn, hit a teammate (Preferably a Heavy, Soldier, Pyro, or Demoman), and kill all the nasty spawn campers while you're both Übercharged! It's that easy! It's TEAM Fortress, not Cry Fortress.

i must say, you do have a point. i love cod and tf2, and at times both are equally gay. But, CoD feels easier to me than tf2. Both games im a great sniper, but with all the perks in CoD make it a little easy. Heartbeat sensor and FNJ. pretty cheap.

A lot of my friends tell me TF2 is too easy because it requires little skills, even those who hate most modern FPS games. I think TF2 actually requires more than skills. There's just that general communication aspect among others that makes TF2 such a special and different FPS.

I remember when I first got the orange box I loved half life, loved portal, and ignored tf2 cuz it was so cartoony. After watching my friend play he made it look fun. Now tf2 is my main game. I have more hours on it than any other game on my steam account and I'm still playing it, where as other games phase in and out. Tf2 is so god damn fun and it's always updating! May as well try it... it's free!

Well, Scout and Sniper are the most typical fps guys.
Avoid taking damage and focus on healing when injured, stay really far away.
Assuming you have "global" fps skill, they will probably be easiest.

i got 1000 kills with ac130 on MW3 and i still think TF2 has better community and gameplay, shet on CoD you can give a retarded monkey the controller and tell him to corner-camp with an AA-12 shotgun and spray as soon as he sees an enemy walk by and he'll get the kill...try that crap on TF2 and the results will be 110% opposite...admit it you all CoD fan fags...TF2 takes more skill than you'll ever have on your best day...

Basic skill from CoD doesn't transfer because CoD is skilless. In battlefield we got different classes, vehicles and RECOIL while CoD got first person too shoot. Halo is also slowpace gameplay and got more aiming and dodging into it, which CoD also lack. The only skill you transfer is how well you know the MOVEMENT CONTROLS. CoD is just a bad example.

I play Battlefield 3 it requires... A SHIT TON OF SKILL. Not just TF2 type skill. Like HARDCORE skill. Reason is because in battlefield 3 you have to deal with, Helicopters, Suicide Planes, Tanks, Cars, boats, and motars. It's actually VERY fucking not just a stroll the park sing and dance around with no care at all, it's a shitstorm of bombs bullets and tanks.

Because in TF2, you have no magic bullets that home in on your target, can't noobtube, can't quickscope, can't sprint around and spray bullets everywhere like a crackhead (without getting killed) and you can't aim down the sights for near-perfect accuracy.
To be concise, it's because TF2 requires skill.

You make fun of COD because it is not "realistic", however, you have a class that has a medicine gun that can make a player invincible, you can aim a rocket at the ground and propel yourself through the air, a class can double jump, and a class can hit a toolbox with a wrench and magically spawn auto-targeting machine guns. And TF2 doesn't really require skill, to be honest. You can go 30-0 in TF2 by sitting in a corner with a flamethrower.

@crashnburner187 About the skill part; In TF2 it takes MULTIPLE hits to kill somebody. Guess how many hits it takes in COD? One mistake and you're simply dead. You need to have near perfect reflexes and eyesight to play. I'm guessing you were badly beaten in COD, and decided to point out every flaw in the game on a video where people hate the game. But, more on subject; TF2 is a slower and cartoony game. Unrealistic amount of bullets your enemy can take as well.

@mechaspark1 I love tf2, and I couldn't give a shit less if it's realistic or not. Noone who plays tf2 plays it because of how realistic it is, we play it because it's fun. Now as for the skill bit, the true skill is in the intelligence, the game-awareness. To do well in TF2 you need to be SMART. You can't just run into a room against 5 people, spray, and expect to kill the majority of them. You need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each class, and how to exploit them

@Smithsonian45 Funny thing is, after I commented, I went and played a few rounds of TF2. It is quite fun to work as a team, and that's EXACTLY what I did. We won all the rounds of course. Also, what do you mean "intelligence" ?? TF2 has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence. Perhaps enough intellect to figure out how to shoot a gun, but no. TF2 requires skill as well as COD. How do I know? I don't know, it's my opinion.

@mechaspark1 Yeah, but all you need is reflexes. In that respect, it's pretty much an easier version of Quake. In TF2, you have to memorise ways to counter different classes and loadouts.

For example, in CoD you have to be able to aim through that annoying red jam that leaks onto your screen when at low health, while in TF2 you have to manage your remaining backpack slots and Steam Library so you don't get bogged down with promotional hats with no room for Refined Metal

One bad teammate, or too many of one class, can lead to a loss. It requires thought and strategy, while CoD and other twitch shooters require reflexes.

@nozajshadowcaster Obviously you don't know where to look. In almost every single map there are good sniper spots. The only autoaim is with the Engineer's Wrangler, it's not even that accurate, you still have to be able to aim.
