Memory Leak in BF3? (Low and High/Ultra settings)

To all AMD/ATI owners this is how i fixed this issue. uninstall all Gcard related software drivers, ccc etc then re-install only the drivers. if you require any fan/gpu controll use msi afterburner.

I believe now they have issues with the x4 AA. I have 2 HD 6850's in crossfire. Do fine with only a teeny bit of stutter at everything ultra and x2. If I put it at x4 it's unplayable due to the weird stutter. I'll put a vid of it up sometime.

I can run most games pretty well if i tweak my bios settings but when it comes to this game it stutters like a son of a bitch. Even crysis runs better than this.

Yap same , my 10K pc caunt run this game, runs at 3 FPS and its only BF3, its a memory leek

Actually, it was the drivers. They released new Beta drivers and solved all my problems. Nice attempt at trolling, though :)

And i thought my loading times were bad. But yeah the game will run for 5 mins flawless, no fps problem no nothing but then one jerk and within 2 seconds its freeze. ctrl+alt+del only solution. bad bad beta testings.

TheCrazyLinkUno, please post your system specs in you description. How can anyone begin to troubleshoot your issues if we cannot even tell if you meet the minimum requirements for the game. It appears your system is experiencing gfx lag to me, so first thing, "render.DrawFps 1" in console.

I'm curious how you determine this to be a memory leak without actually providing proof with a tool such as rivatuner? It will chart the memory usage on your gfx card and you would see it max out.

@cdooley42 Because im not the only one having this issue and people on the official BF3 Technical forums that are having this problem have run various tools and have come to determine it is bad memory management/memory leak.

It is a graphics lag. It is happening to various systems both high end that exceed the "Recommended" and equal to "Minimum" (which is what I have)

Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz (minimum)

4GB DDR3 (Recommended)

Windows 7 64-Bit (Recommended)

i have everything on ultra and it plays perfect for me. my system specs are phenom II X4 965 BE, 8gigs DDR3 1333, sapphire HD 6670, windows 7 ultimate and 1440x900. i have videos on my channel showing the game on my rig

@cp0020 Yea its works for a nice portion of people but there are plenty of people with high ends rigs with up to 16GB, GTX 570-590 Ti or SLI's and i7's that kick ass, and it stil happens to them. Its not happening to Everyone, but a good portion of the community.

@TheCrazyLinkUno i have a major stutter/freeze issues after a few minutes of gameplay no matter what my settings and my rigs pretty good its defo a memory leak, but from looking at your video dude im seeing a pattern i used to get when i gamed on my laptop i notice the slowdown for a few seconds untill your laptop fan kicks in full throttle then it smooths out again you might be lucky enough dude just to have a cooling issue i sorted mines with a custom made cooling pad with room for the mouse

@wezzy1983 yeah dude that other issue is the laptop cooling im listening full volume on headphones its your gpu throttling due to high temps a common problem with laptops easy fix though. play on a desk or coffee table or ideally a cooling pad. you can hear the fan roar just as it starts to throttle(slowdown) dam laptop are on auto unfortunatly cant be set to run 100% by the user. try that and let me know if it helps with that issue at least. mem leaks dices problem wish they would sort it

I'm on an Alienware M-17x with dual vidcards (radeon mobility 5800 series) , quadcore i7 2.67 ghtz, 8 gig ram, win 7 64 bit and still lagging to the point of making the game unplayable in multiplayer.. I'm hoping it'll be the same as with black ops, that also was shite when released but a month later all lag issues were gone..
