  • This isnt related to pingpong but you are cute.

  • what racket do you recommend for someone that has been playing for a year? If it is not

pre-made tell me blade and rubbers.

  • Great video, thanks!

  • Thanks very much for showing the technique.

I'm looking for videos like this to teach it to my kids, but I'm not sure if it is allowed from ITTF rules to throw the ball against yourself. As far as I know you have to throw it up in a (more or less) straight line, am I right?

  • @samzonator you're right. I mean its very difficult to throw in a straight line but my throw wasn't so straight :D But then even pros sometimes have that problem :P

  • thank you for your nice video

  • you're welcome

  • xu xin?

  • @Lovett9x have you got a yasaka rakza 7 ?

  • Bad video , that snowcone in the background was distracting

  • @angrylime I was looking forward to reading your criticism ;) thanks !

  • Thanks for the video sir. Well thought out, and well executed. I especially like the camera placement and the different perspectives on the serves. Your training partner does a very good job of showing what spin is being placed on the ball as well.

    Great job!

  • I did not know they played table tennis inside of the pyramids

  • @Hallur91 well now you know hehe

  • One of the best teaching videos for this serve I have seen. Very nice Explanation. Thank you!

  • @loeksnokes cool! :D

  • @Lovett9x do you know that if the player is able to return the ball so how will we play it when we will be holding the racquette with just thumb and finger?

  • @maheenfatima5 you just reposition your hand immediately after you hit the ball, people always change grips while playing. My backhand grip is different to my forehand grip and similarly alot of the top table tennis players are like that as well but its so fast you cant tell.

  • you from vietnam

  • that basement looks like a terrorist hide out lol

  • your friend is wearing a pokemon t-shit =o... i guess kakakakakkakakakkaka good video lo/

  • haha I think he reading from somewhere :DD

  • It's Wang Liqin's younger brother!!

  • What is wrong with you people? A good player can play with a wooden spoon-ie a toy bat

therefore with great presence of mind and forethought the thickness of your rubber is im-material unless you are having sex-some like it ribbed-some featherlite and some true lovers go comando. Subscribe for more lessons.

  • Great video. Just interested to know what rubber you are using (thickness as well) in this video and the one you had a test match with your mate! It looks like Yasaka?

  • tnx i learned a lot from u:)

  • @GinKikyo that's great! thanks for watching my video too :)

  • Made in China

  • Maybe it's windy day outside, he needs cave where suitable for ping pong

  • @MapleDynasty sure I do ;)

  • haha :D no face expression .

  • @MrLabtec74 hahaa xD

  • if i practice in a cave, would I be as epic as him?

  • @Gottermander Racist

  • Of course it's an asian!

  • @Lovett9x you've got badly stuck the rubber :)

  • haha CAVE ?

you are great buddy ! nice tutorial i must say :)

  • you need a cave to learn serve better.

  • thank you

  • You are a beast haha

  • @MFAFC ok...! :))

  • i wish i had a cave :D

  • i like trains

  • why are you playing ping pong in a cave?

  • @bloggerscompete I live in a cave? :))

  • Its funny cause i can make the sidespin version and topspin version perfectly but i have never managed to pull of the underspin ??? i just cant get it ''underspinny'' because when i try it always does sidespin but your tut. was great anyway :D Just gonna keep practicing :D

  • @TheWillerbazz same here dude

  • where is this place?

  • your cute :)

  • i also have some doubts when i look at it. is it a legal serve actually tried on tournaments with umpire? it doesn't seem like the ball is projected "near vertically". I think Boll throws it higher so the angle is more proper.

Nice vid. I like the background

noise of balls falling of the table ;).

  • @odolany Maybe judges have gone easy on me but I have never been caught serving illegally in tournaments :D

  • @Lovett9x thx for the answer.

i recall some vid from quatar where xu xin's serve was called despite looking "as usual" - he also gives pretty sharp angle and does well with it ;). probably all case depends on the umpire, but anyway it's really uncool that this rule ("mostly vertical") is so imprecise.

    good luck with your training.

  • what rubbers do you use?

  • @1812964 Stiga Boost TC

  • wait did you say u hit on top of the ball to get underspin and bottom of the ball to get topspin or no spin? I didn't really get that.. why is that?

  • I DID IT I DID IT AFTER A MONTH

  • @akashstephen99 GREAT!

  • it's a foul serve... you must throw the ball upward only

  • @kimoro2003 rarely anyone can do it perfectly upward anyway =)

  • @Lovett9x i think also the reason why the ball is going backwards when you throw it up is because your free hand should be a bit closer to your body that way you dont have to throw the ball backwards

  • @kimoro2003 It's "mostly" upward. Not exactly upward.it's a really vague rule but if you draw a line from the resting position of the ball to the point at which it is struck and the angle is >45 degrees then it's mostly upwards.

I rarely see this rule enforced though but the technique I laid out pretty much is how you would define "mostly" upwards.

  • thx:) I'll try this thing with my friends(also my father told me that I have to learn new moves)

  • your rubber doesn't very smooth it will cause bounce of your ball unstably

  • @master5830 that's true, bad glue job :)

  • @Lovett9x yeah. he just pressed it.

  • @roxyafl3 no problem my friend :)

  • @TheRs2guide ok that's weird because I didn't, honestly :D

  • Comment removed

  • please calm down when you talk you have way to much enthusiasm. lol nice man cave. btw

  • @theinterfan1 are you being sarcastic or what? :)) But alright, I know I'm kinda crappy in this vid xD

  • why your friend returning the ball so high Lol ??

  • @aznjc54 well, it's just sort of demonstrating what would happen if you don't return carefully or misread a topspin serve. He is not retarded like some say xD

  • awesome ur vietnamese like me ;D freat vid by the way

  • @pwnage696969 that's cool! Vietnamese ftw!

  • @Lovett9x im viet to man HAHAHAHA

  • @tomyh77 sure...

  • GO ENDLESS POCKET!

  • @xiqianghorny Thank you! I'm from Vietnam, I use Boost TC on forehand and Tibhar Grass Dtecs 1.6mm on BH

  • thx!

  • What country is this? I wish table tennis was a respected sport in the US, id love to play you.

  • @CehJota I'm in Sweden at the moment, it's very popular here.

  • are yo playing for hammarby?

  • @66simonsimon hahah, yes I do!

  • Scary cave, I wouldnt be able to train well there:P

    Liked the vid though :P

  • yeah, long pips for the win.

  • this is my ideal mancave

  • nice english! ^^

  • Where do u practice? in a cave? O_o

  • @ustupidshit yes, I do ;D

  • @Lovett9x uhmm were you shooting this in sweden?

  • @ustupidshit HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA crying

  • hola me pueden explicarmelo en espanish plis ,Gracias

  • At the end of the motion, do you have to flick your wrist out, or do you just brush the ball with your wrist still tucked into your forearm?

  • @BMxJone Flipping the wrist out will of course impart more spin but it should be done when the ball contacts the rubber. Otherwise you're likely to get bad contact. I suggest not flipping the wrist until you're proficient with the serve though. The wrist flipping is for that extra 10-15% spin.

  • @gimplar definitely right on the money there

  • When I serve, I feel like my form isn't correct, like I get effective spin, but I don't seem to be doing it like the long term players. Should I test it out against competitive players, and then just practice, or is there an actual form people use?

  • @sexinthebathtubwith i don't quite catch what you meant. so you get good spin but not good consistency or what is it that you lack? but just practice and use in match situation you will get used to it.

  • @Lovett9x Basically. I get good spin, but the serve doesn't seem to be as effective as when someone who has been playing for a while does it. So I was wondering is there an actual form players use for serves, or should I just keep practicing till it gets better?

  • @sexinthebathtubwith

just keep practicing, you'll slowly get there

  • @sexinthebathtubwith This serve takes a long while to get proficient at. It's a much more difficult serve than regular pendulum but I notice that when i use this serve my opponent's return goes into the net more often.

  • Nihon jin desu ka? Watashi wa amerika jin desu. Anata wa speak Nihongo desu ka? Domo Arigatou.

  • @pkg292 hahaha, thanks! ( they do ;) ! )

  • dude, that looks like a terrorist encampment! lol, still nice serves

  • I would play to the sides of the table!!!!! :p

  • @kaikaz try then :>

  • hello ..

    im a table tennis player..

and i like ur tutor ..

    can you tutor me ?

pls contact me in this email

    joy.chenryl123@yahoo.com

    thank you so much ..

  • is your friend acting or can he not actually play table tennis:P nice serving :D imma try use it :D

  • @MLX63 he's acting but if you mis-read the spin then it would not be any different :)

  • If you extend your index finger a little to support the rubber, similar to Timo Boll, you can change the racket angle with much more control, allowing your reverse pendulum to be more deceptive.

  • @bartek4443 I think that's very true, now I'm doing it like that :D

  • love that background.. dungeon type, very underground.., cool.. though it limits you on lob shots

  • @kitzterII haha ye, very underground-ish =)) I don't really lob so doesn't matter

  • @Lovett9x is that like in your building's basement? btw i see you're on mark v, what's the rest of your set up?

  • @kitzterII ye im using boost tc now though. I use JSH blade and tibhar grass dtecs on bh

  • The link wont work type in timo boll service practice and you should se it properly

  • @TheMroreo95 ok, I'll see =)

  • ThisNice video on the reverse pendulum though

  • uhmm can you show us how to do the serve also done by timo boll. in which he looks like he is doing the pendulum when he in fact reversing it?

  • @yobmas722 I'd be glad to if you can find me a video of him doing that ( tell me exactly at what minute, second ) because what I'm thinking right now is that the serve you're thinking about is actually this normal reverse pendulum serve but he added the quick pendulum wrist movement to trick the opponent. Am I right?

  • @Lovett9x ya thats the one.

  • @yobmas722 timo boll almost always uses the serve that u mean except it look like a reverse pendulum but is a pendulum

  • I have saw more than enough. The only change that I would make is that mabye it is more of a backspin serve than sidespin

  • @TheMroreo95 ok, please find me a video of him doing that and tell me exactly when is he doing that serve so I can really picture what you're saying ;)

  • This serve is nothing like timo boll's. Timo boll has a serve where it looks like a reverse serve but he uses a very fast wrist flick which puts conventional spin on it. Look at it very carefully and you will see that the ball is dragged into his backhand. Sometimes he does your serve but rarely

  • @TheMroreo95 I will leave this for the crowd to judge but make sure you have seen enough of Timo Boll's videos before you make this comment ;)

  • why is there a ping pong table in the dungeon?

  • well explained thank you

  • @BluSUBsound thank you =) you're welcomed

  • could you make another vid showing different serves and describe diferent variations and how to get maximum spin on them.

What country do you play in?

  • @EliTeFuSiOnS Im in sweden right now. What exactly do you mean? What kind of serves do you want to see ?

  • @Lovett9x pendulum

    reverse pendulum

show variation like side back , side top, short long stuff like that

do you play competitavly in sweeden

  • @EliTeFuSiOnS okay, will do that. might as well do tomahawk and reverse tomahawk soon. ye i do play in a league but im still young so im in div 6 XD also tournaments etc.

  • @Lovett9x ye cool

    how old are u?

im 14 but i play for my county in england sometimes

  • @EliTeFuSiOnS I'm 16. you play for your country O.o? like nationally? what do u mean

  • @Lovett9x county its a region of the country

    you play against other regions

  • @EliTeFuSiOnS oh sorry, i read it wrong. ok ok, country i got it ;) that's cool man.

  • @Lovett9x will you make that vid?

  • hehe...man...talking about real "underground" matches....haha...nice video man...

  • @PrinceArt77 you're damn right man :)) we're underground ppl

  • Thank you all for your support ^^

  • good video and very well done with demonstration of the effect of different serves. Thanks.

  • great tutorials! exactly what i was looking for

  • nice blade, my friend had one b4, really amazing for cutting/chopping.

  • btw... what butterfly blade are you using?

  • @yobmas722 Butterfly Joo Se Hyuk FL

  • by the way. what type of grip is used for this?

  • @yobmas722 just normal grip, hold mostly the blade head, not the handle with your thumb and index finger. hope that helps!

  • @Lovett9x hey uhmmm.. i tried it. but i still cant get it........ any more tips you can give....... it helps... tnx.

  • @lovett9x youre handsome :)

  • @lheenel oh really O.o? let me ask the guy in the mirror :))

  • ths man.. i can now do this serve! my friends will be surprised! haha
