  • Nice fake. But next time add the gear horn and figure out a way to get the prop to stop turning once it "hits" ground and it might be more convincing.

  • Keep your day job, you're lousy at faking videos.

  • Definitely fake - notice the prop keeps turning.

  • Seen another video on YT where the student and his CFI basically did the whole approach with their gear horn on.....and they still landed on their belly.

  • A C-172RG has retractable gear. But why no gear warning? There should have been a loud beep beep beep when manifold pressure falls below 15 inches with the gear up.

  • c-172 has no retrackable gear

  • Fake but even if it was real...you managed to turn the camera on but not put down the gear, lol!

  • no crash

  • perfect landing

  • Fake but cool!!!!

  • Prop is still spinning, so no belly land. Really nice effects though! Love the cutlass.

  • FAKE

  • It was surprising to discover the 172 Cutlass RG was offically categorized as a 175.

  • Believe it or not, even though it was sold as a 172 RG, the official classification was 175. I was surprised to discover this.

  • the C-172 was revamped with retractable landing gear and named the Cutlass RG. c'mon just do a google search for 172 RG and you wouldn't be embarrassing yourselves

  • Had me the first time, replayed it and saw the touchdown..

Got me for a sec tho

  • We thinkin of same 172? dosent if have like...fixed undercarrage?

  • I thought this video was funny.

  • Google C172RG. Jus sayin'...

  • lol he would have heard the gear horn

  • Its called a joke u nimrods

  • fake landing is slowed down....on contact..very fake!!

  • @issueagent it's a 172RG, they have retractable gear. Plain 172's are fixed gear.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. when the fuck did cessna have a landing button. those landing gears are fucking down all the time

  • @farhan20deco some do, but definitely not the c-172

  • It was the main landing gear which didn't extend, the nose is in its position.

I've seen this in a RG Cardinal.

Think a little before post stupidities, Joe.

Good job Stereonipples, but I rather land in the grass to avoid damage and prevent fire, also you didn't block the runway for other planes ;)

  • @benmiata easier to nose over in the grass though...usually

  • NICE LANDING

  • well congratulations for belly landing a (mostly, 99% of them) fixed gear aircraft and managing to keep the prop spinning once you were on hthe ground, i'm suspecting a fake as you remembered to get the camera out before the landing gear...

  • That prop is still spinning pretty good for a belly landing!

  • Cessna made only one variant in the 172 model that had retractable landing gear and that was the 172RG Cutlass made between 1980-84. Over 1100 were made and most went to military and civilian flight schools for complex training. Problem was that private pilots could not remember to lower the gear prior to landing which is why it became obsolete.

  • horsecrap

  • c172 fixed gear. gg

And try to put a more realistic crash sound next time!

  • Fake! C172RG..now that would make an interesting video. if you had any flap down then the configuration warning horn would have sounded. Mighty quiet on this video.

    (500+ hours Cessna pilot)

  • @oldbloke01 great answer. Im a pilot student, but in my school there is a C172 Rg, when that airplane doesnt have the gear down or flaps down and u cut off the throttle, the warning horn, begins to work. hehehe, only 70 hours cessna pilot. thanks

  • how the hell can u have a belly landing in a cessna...the gear dosnt retract

  • @Piano1515 172RG I own one N4659Q.....GUMP CHECK!!!!!!! Gas, Undercarriage, Mixture, and Propeller. ...

  • @Piano1515 in a 172 rg it does look it up

  • C-172 landing gear is fixed, faked shit

  • @HotChilliSquirrel

C 172 RG (rg stands for retractable gear)

  • @bampilot06 Yeah I get that now sorry :P

  • @HotChilliSquirrel C172RG has Retractable Gear, hence the RG.

  • Check list.....check list.

  • Gasoline Undercarriage Mixture and Props.

    Gasoline Undercarriage Mixture and Props.

    Gasoline Undercarriage Mixture and Props.

A nice reminder of why I say it to myself compulsively on approach no matter what airplane I fly. Thanks for sharing!

  • you forgot to put wheels down but you forgot to retract them after take off so evens it out...Just dont disturb the camera after touchdown next time...Blue side up!

  • cabação.

  • RG models are 'cutlass'

  • FFFFAAAAKKKKEEEE!!!!

  • since when did 172's start having retractable landing gear

  • @bobistheman02

Look for a C172 RG. But this vid is FAKE

  • @bobistheman02 Since 1980.

Its fake, but still, 172RG's are out there.

  • FAKE>>>

  • fake as fuck. may even have been flight simulator

  • @ThePeapod666 Flight simulator isnt that good, and ya fake as shit

  • Comment removed

  • @FSXaddict5 because a 172 Cutlass RG has retractable landing gear...hence the RG. Playing with pretend airplanes on your computer does not make you an expert, or sound any more intelligent

  • Thats fsx, didnt fool anyone dumb fuck

  • you rel stupid

  • @FSXaddict5 Playing the FSX doesnt make you a pilot in any way. Your not an expert. Try flying in a real plane. And the Cessna 172 RG can retract its landing gear hence RG!

  • That was just a landing the prop was still spinning wow

  • Comment removed

  • Why the need to lie ?? Do you really think that the rest of us are that stupid?

  • hahah !

  • fakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Anything lower than someone who lies to try to get more views on youtube?

  • nice stall landing

  • It is not a belly landing...since in C172 u do not have an option to take the gear up while take off or gear down while landing. The gear always remains where they are....

  • @sudysona Who said it wasn't a RG model. Which is the complex Cessna 172 with a constant speed propeller and retractable gear. Still the video is ovbiously fake.

  • @sudysona - the RG's have retractable landing gears. Research before you make yourself look like a moron.

  • There should have been a warning sounding if the gear was not down. I heard no warning.

  • GUMPS.....

  • Why is everone bein such an ass about this video? So what if it is fake...id believe it if it werent for the spinning prop

  • its a small plane and it might no be fake

  • FAKE :(

  • FAKE!

  • That camera shake is so fake. Also the sound does not sound right.

  • What video editor did you use for the "blurred crash" bit. Nice touch. I would have use a sound effect of aluminum scraping across asphalt and added screams..and maybe a cow mooing.

  • Bogus - this is not a gear up landing. Just someones feeble attempt at special effects.

  • who ever did this is an idiot, other then flairing out alittle to hard the landing is fine is on the centreline and the prop is still turning. as well if this was an RG below 18 inchs of manifold pressure without a possitive gear down the gear up horn would be whining. If you were a true aviator you wouldnt be posting videos about how you were to tired.

  • fake!

  • in c172 you dont have to worry about landing gears...

you dont have to put wheels up/down

  • Really? Then why would somebody shell out the extra money to buy a 172RG?

That said, video is fake. itsmonti1 is correct. The prop would have instantly struck, shattered and stopped.

  • Bullshit video

  • If this was a true belly landing, the prop would have stopped turning the second it landed. I heard a tire squeel, prop is still turning. The sound after the tire squeel was dubbed-added to the video. FAKE! FALSE TITLEMENT!!! FAIL!!!!

  • Too steep an approach, and dude, i mean the stall horn is not of an RG, even a person who knows nothing about planes would know that! AWful video, all i can learn from this is how much of a fool you have made of everyone!

  • I have to agree with 19trojan88. Stop all the bitchy comments. If you have a brain, you can learn alot from videos on you tube. I am a low hours PPL (90hrs) and often use you tube to find out what approaches look like before doing a trip - its called planning. Post one of your own for comment - but maybe you don't have licences to fly? watch - you might actually learn something. Or maybe stop watching other people have a life and go get one of your own.

  • You lost me at "172" and "landing gear"

  • Pssst, froobin903.....172RG. (RG model stands for retractable gear).

  • mah bad.

  • WTF dude? Why try to bullshit people like this? Tire squeek, turning prop, wrong style stall horn for an RG, rivet line on the cowl.....

  • I agree. I've flown alot of hours in a Cutlas and I didn't even hear the gear warning horn. And the prop still spinning? WTF?

  • I hear money coming out of the bank!!!!!!

  • That... sounded expensive!

  • I gotta get me one of those Space age diamond molybnium props and attach it to that 782hp engine like that.I love the way it can just chew through the tarmac with out even missing a beat. ;-P

  • :P

    Great comment.

  • would yall just stop, please....none of you guys on here are probably pilots anyway, and even if u are ur prolly student pilots who lack experience and have nothing better to do but to insult others thru comments, and u prolly dont even know eachother anyhow...Why can t you just something nice in the comments....otherwise, just watch the damn videos and shutup, or get off the damn internet

  • but you can't say anything nice in the comments if the title and description of the video itself is bullshit... you stupid american...

  • How do you forget the GUMPS Check Dumb ass?

  • yes there is a 172 rg but this is fake. you even counter dick your self your first comment you state nose gear is down but main are stuck. later you say other.heres the thing no wheel up horn no prop strike and no paper work found with faa check vidio for time year date and call numbers on fire wall

  • if you land on the belly of the rg the prop stops spinning

  • i have to agree it is fake. I can hear the rubber of the tires squeak at touchdown. Very nice landing Keep it up ;)

  • wow that must have been scary!!

  • Ahh fake... Prop didn't strike?? Still Spinning??

  • @joefalconite

thats why the prop started spinning the other way?

  • @ihatewhores17 Optical Illusion, when the props RPM goes from higher to lower than the cameras frame rate it appears to spin backwards. Plus in a belly landing the props just STOP.

  • Oh snap.

Look I marked your comments as spam too. Does that make me as cool as you? Probably not because you have 4000 imaginary hours being more awesome than anyone else on teh intrawebs.

  • Comment removed

  • How's it fake... You're just another idiot on Youtube that says every video is fake. You just suck.

  • Or its fake and you're the idiot. For the record everyone on the entire Internet acts stupid so what's your point?

As far as I'm concerned it's fake unless there's more proof than a video with a grinding sound effect. Also, as it has been stated before there's no gear up warning horn.

Have fun being stupid. You probably believe 911 was a conspiracy just from the videos telling you it was.

  • Obviously you know nothing about aviation for one, I have over 4000 jet hours, so piss off. You know nothing about me or who I am. Who cares if it's fake? Keep your stupid comments to yourself kiddo.

  • Why are you taking this video at face value? What other than the sound effect makes you believe the pilot left the gear up?

Can we agree that if he did in fact leave the gear up he's an idiot and should be flying for any commercial operation?

Besides the name calling war we got into why do you even care?

  • you fail

  • agentfazexx what the hell man?

4000 jet hours? haha funny........... maybe on FSX

no prop strike, tyre sounds on touchdown, no warning horn.. think about it sunshine

  • Way to assume there kiddo;.

  • @agentfazexx

you are a liar... 4000 jet hours? no one calls them that... you would say... 4000 hours logged in a citation or something....

besides, the prop would strike the runway and stop spinning. this is a gear up landing

    watch?v=2hMn7ZweF6s

  • Believe it or not, I don't care. Not here to prove anything.

  • @agentfazexx classic case of back pedalling

  • Stop trying to start a fight over the internet kiddo. You just make yourself look stupider than you already are.

  • i have to agree it is fake. The prop is still spinning and do 172s have retractable gear?

  • Some 172's do have retractable gear but i agree that the prop should have hit the ground and stopped spinning.... maybe he just let the nosewheel down too early and it started to shake, i've had that happen a few times and the whole plane just shakes, scarey stuff. but i also think that if he did do a belly landing, the plane most likely wouldn't have stayed in that straight of a line down the RW after he touched down. So idkk.

  • yes some models of the 172's have a retractable gear, but your right, this is fake ass shit

  • some do have a retractable gear.

  • Who cares, if it was fake its a bad fake and if not you should never be hired on as a pilot.

  • does the cessna 172 has retracteble weels anyway?

  • The Cessna 172 does not have retractable wheels.

  • no, the normal 172 does not but they have made an RG version

  • No need to double post your comment NWA97 ;)

    Thanks!

  • oops sorry that other 1 was supposed to go to the other guy who asked that haha np :)

  • lol, np. But for that, you have to buy me one of those C172s with Retractable Gear (RG Version) lol

  • lol i would if i could haha :)

  • Ok, il take you up on that. :]

  • some of the cessna 172 have but I forgot the name of them

  • 172 RG do

  • not the normal one, but cessna also makes RG versions

  • Yes, its called 172 cutlass RG

  • this is not real, the propeller would have stoped immediatly!

  • Whats the problem??

Always the stall horn rings :)

Is not a bad landing :) is normal to me

  • So you're prop must be some sort of space aged titanium, because any time you belly land one of those the props would dig into the ground and bust up. Good try.

  • yeah but with that landing he must of broke something

  • bullshit

  • Fake. 172RG's have an electric stall warning horn. The one that goes off in this vid is an air driven whistle which is on a standard 172. Also a 172RG has a different shaped enging cowling than the one in this vid.....also a standard 172. 172RG's also have a gear warning beep that goes off when at low power or full flaps when the wheels aren't down...but not in this vid. Lasltly the propeller's still spinning normally after the "crash." It would have stopped fairly quick on implact. FAKE

  • Fake, the propeller would be in pieces if there was such "belly landing"

  • depends on how hige the prop is sittning on the front.

  • He landed on his wheels the videos a fake

  • why the propeller didnt hit the ground?

  • 172 dont have retractable landing gear wheels must of feel...

  • there are 172 RG's

  • Comment removed

  • you forgot th put the landing gear down in a 172, you really must of been tired if you thought a 172 had retractable landing gear.

  • Actually there is a Model of the 172 that has a retractable landing gear.

  • cessna was selling 172 RG

  • if you inspect the landinggear schematich in thee POH, you wilh notise thers is a way only nose gear will retract and therfor be abl to land on runway with belly and keep nose and prop clear.

i have personaly witnesd this happen in the summer of 03 while riding with my uncle who is a pilot in the candaian air force

  • LOL omg that sounds you hear before he eats doo doo on the runway is the Low Rotor RPM horn in a R22/R44 (helicopter)...might be the same horn in a cesna but they have no retractable gears...nice try

  • Actually it is the stall warning horn.

  • thanks...same principle and same horn sound lol.

  • if it was real, you would be swearing and dropping the camera

  • Comment removed

  • if tht were real y didnt the prop stop

    thts not evem funny

  • It's a fake. You can see that the effect aren't real.

  • hah fail

  • Movie makers typically rely on the probablity that viewers will know little if anything about any given subject in a film.

  • With all of the search engines and Wikipedia and the like, how can people come on here and argue that C172s don't have retractable gear, when that's just not true. "Cessna introduced a retractable-gear version of the 172 in 1980 and named it the Cutlass 172RG" - Wikipedia. Also, being an actual licensed pilot with hundreds of hours in Cessnas (not just pretending to be), the prop would have struck the ground and the engine would have stopped. Yes, the gear warning horn would have gone off too

  • Because people are lazy, uneducated; because of our useless system, and so selfabsorbed they dont see 4 inches past their nose.

  • yeah well the retactable gear looks retarded....why do they gotta ruin the original cessnas i mean come on

  • cause maybe its less drag with retracts

  • Fake. Prop's still turning. Nice try.

  • dude, u suck!!!!! the prop is still turning what the hell??

  • Then what was him or her doing behind the controls of a Cessna aircraft in a sleepy state in the first place. I am amazed the department of aviation didn't take his or her licenses

  • "department of aviation"??? You mean FAA? BTW, not a reason to take away a license...

  • Then why was he behind the controls of a Cessna aircraft in a sleepy state the first place what they should have done is plot a connecting airport got some sleep then continued the flight the next day they knew it was dangerous that why they did it trying to endanger other people. I amazed the Department of Aviation didn't take away his or her license

  • C172 doesn't have retractable gears....
