@fleshablesha If you live in the US, go on Evike and look up M16/M4 scope mount bases and you can buy the Marui one for 45.dollars, or a 10 dollar one is also availiable. I ordered one for my Panther Arms M16A1.

when a red dot scope is put on a scope mount on top of the m4 handle how does it aim on target because it is so much higher than where the iron sights aim?

You simply have to "zero" the scope.

1: Get a target at a decent distance (say 100 feet)

2: Aim at target and shoot

3: Compare where the shot hit to where you aimed, and adjust windage and elevation of the scope.

4: Shoot again. If your shot hits exactly where you aimed, then you're done, if not, return to step 2.
