I noticed that every underground artist from Bagge's time to earlier always cites Mad Magazine as an influence.

@bluebettle, not that it wasn't great in its heyday, but it was very available. I mean, they sell it at the grocery store.

intelligence in this society is frowned upon...if you can take it and make it into a neat little package for the MTV viewers, then it will never go anywhere "mainstream"...which can be viewed as a good thing...i love the buddy bradley stories...would LOVE to see an animated cartoon of them...but alas...that wont happen (peter bagge has tried this in the past and it never went anywhere)
