I am having problems installing yafaray for blender 2.6. Can you please walk me through the process; even better, why not make a video tutorial for every one. I really need your help!!!!!!!!
thank you for the tutorial, but, when I click render in yafaray it says there's a python error: check console. In the console it says "AssertionError: SRE module mismatch"
I've been looking for that error, it says maybe the phithon version I'm using isn't the last one, but I'm using 2.6.2... any idea what could be the problem?
@nisazaleila let me look into it and get back to you. My computer is undergoing hardware updates right now so I'll get back as soon as I can. (couple days tops.) :)
hmm.. good question. Yafaray does have a mac version available. I'll wait for my wife to get home so I can use her mac and install it. I'll let you know.
UPDATE: I'm not too familiar with the MAC environment. Try installing blender, python, and then extracting the script to the scripts folderin the installation directory as shown in the video. The file paths probably wont be the same but it will be the same concept. Her computer wont work with blender. Dunno why. Sorry.
Thanks for the Tutorial really helped. Only issue is everything seems fine but when i click render in Yafaray it starts then stops responding and crashes =/
@ziggyame Patience. Depending on your specs, it could take quite a while before everything gets to working. Don't click on anything while it's processing because then the box will pop up saying it crashed. Trust me, it's still working it will just take time.

@nisazaleila you need reinstall ..
make sure you install python 2.6.2 first then Blender, and the last, Yavaray 0.1.1
this works for me, i ever got the error message like you "python error: check console" then i reinstall it and works...

it wont read my python file?
iliketoeatchickin 11 months ago
@iliketoeatchickin What do you mean python file? There should be several. But just to check...
1. Make sure you installed both blender and python to the same directory.
2. When you open blender check the console and make sure you have the correct version of python.
3. Uninstall and reinstall everything if necessary.
I'm going to need more info from you to help you out more.
