  • Makes me sad what happened to the Native American People. They are so true to themselves and to the earth, They are an example to us all and how we should be treating mother Earth. It brings me great joy that next year I will be marrying my wonderful Native American girlfriend in a traditional Native wedding.

  • pure and true , Thank You^^

  • The Earth Mother

We are all thankful to our Mother, the Earth, for she gives us all that we need for life. She supports our feet as we walk about upon her. It gives us joy that she continues to care for us as she has from the beginning of time. To our Mother, we send greetings and thanks.

    Now our minds are one.

  • so awesome!!!!!!

  • No offense meant but these commandments are better than the Biblical once, truth be told though; they're of the same spirit.

  • @IrreduciblePar4dox

simplicity is truth. thanks for posting

  • @IrreduciblePar4dox I am Christian Woman but I am also Native American (Cherokee & Shoshone- many generations back BUT still it is in my spirit & my Blood) I am like a rainbow of many peoples... Norsewoman, Celtic, welsh & Portugese... but my prayers are always to the Creator of the Universe for the peoples of the earth. May we appreciate ALL the gift we have been given. May we love & care for one another as we would care for ourselves.

  • @jazzbebeya i dont beleave any of it, like how it is talking to people in a city, they dont care about you. just shut up before you say the wrong thing to us, remember there was... lets say gangster love and hood respect. but i dont beleave that you part of such a proud people trying to be one of us FUK you just shut up about us on the internet, ka tuhg gi mesie noongan, i hope your a hater of my people.

  • @GitChiMangGun Dude! Tupac Shukar?! You qoute him here... ? He was one of the greatest poet/philosphers of our time- whether or not he was a gangsta- he kept it real. Tupac was a strong beautiful soul and something worth hearing to say AND it is a GREAT loss to the world that he is no longer here And for the record- I ain't no hater of anybody's peeps & I ain't TRYIN' to be "one of you" either! I am who I am & that's all I am- just me. I just think we should be good to each other is all.

  • This is beautiful thanks for sharing!

  • Destruction is a part of nature. It is apart of life. Iktomi and Raven, and Coyote are bearers to that. Not always so clearly divided, but a muddled nature. our reptilian part of our brains has to rectify with our hearts is a battle itself. denying the negative exists doesnt strengthen our wills to overcome it.

  • Thank you for sharing this with us!

  • Thank you for putting this video on. Brings joyful tears to my heart and heals my deep wounds.

  • how about we focus on the heart

  • The humankind could learn from history, more we have never managed to see anything beyond the material way. We could learn to not judge, now that we all fails sometime, to feel deep respect for all life, that way our own life will receive the same, to live in peace, so no one should lose a son, brother, sister, mother ... It's never too late for doing good. It's never to late to bring peace to your own heart. Start with yourself and you'll see the seed grow in others hearts too. Blessings.

  • I feel closer to the Grandmothers and Grandfathers in listening deeply. AHO.

  • Great Spirit my my walk no Mother Earth Maka be filled with beauty and peace. For the seven generations to come.

    Hokahay Maka Nupa L.Cota

  • So simplistic. Imagine if the world would follow this wisdom how better a place it would be. Thoughts???

  • Contemporary society has conditioned mankind to believe, everything is complicated

  • Yes I believe one of the root problems in society is the educational systems focus on educating the left brain and ignoring the right and to make maters worst rewarding the masters of left brain though and promoting them to elite positions in society to continue the cycle. Not enough right brain creativity and compassion.

  • we are in a time of change, fortunately, that too will transform

  • @KTAJD Yes we've lost sight of the big picture, to many small things that arnt importiant are confusing us, Hopefuly the change becomes even greater, but there is a new awarness in people waking up, so have hope.

  • So Beautiful, Peace,Grace and Love To You-Amen

  • I couldn't agree more. A wonderful set of guidelines for living, and to aspire to. The Native American voice is what we need to return to. The voice of connection, of gratitude, and of the interconnectedness of all things. The more We spend time observing what Mother nature has wrought, the more inclined we are to protect her, as she has done for us since time immemorial.

    Amen.

  • man its so true i pray everyday that our voices can be heard to the ridiculous cruel and dumb big guys to which lives reveolve around money and greed. hopefully one day soon we can all pull together and turn this world around.

  • fantastic!

  • Any person acting against another in an violent or destructive way, is not acting like a human being, therefore, negating the principle of growth and evolution. The only way to prepare for any catastrophe is by joining forces. The present world is a result of a chain of negative behavior towards nature and other human beings. To survive, we need to shift to positive behavior in every regard.

  • zensualgreen, for 300 centuries as long as humans were pagans we didnt bring our earth to such crises as we did for last 2 milleniums. civilization is all about destruction of nature - from within to the world around us. its a cage, life in exile, death to real life. yet this nature that humans destroyed i think can come back. mighty colorado build grand canyon so it can do again. volcanoes build continents and highest mountains so they can do it again. but when?

  • I have connected with your words and I too am reaching to all humanity. Jeremy Samuel Howe, 865 middlefield rd Hinsdale MA

  • @zensualgreen Can you positively allow embedding please?:)

  • Survival groups usually emphasize individual preparedness, beyond the resources of the average person. I've read threads by people prepared to kill their neighbours to survive a catastrophe. Instead, if we could start to understand community, mother earth friendly resources and pooling our tools, we could create a utopia modeled after the wisdom native peoples offer and clean energy devices and create a better world than anything our insane leaders offer.

  • ~BEAUTIFUL VIDEO~THANK YOU~

  • Beautiful video. ahh Douglas Spotted Eagle. Love his voice and albums. Thanks.

  • zensualgreen,

What the the native American wisdom to guide us through this time of hardship?

  • The wisdom of native Americans is a very simple and Spirit oriented life. We are spiritual beings, having a human experience (not the other way around) let us be grateful for everything we have, and contribute to make this world a better place by our thoughts, words, and actions. When we learn to trust Spirit is always with us and knows all our pains and hardships, one way or the other, we will always be guided to the right way.

  • Thank you zensualgreen. It makes sense.

  • what language is that...thanks for the video.

    soooooooooooooo awesomeeeeeeeeeee.

  • Even non-indigenous or so-called non-ethnic people are tribal, they just don't consciously remember. We all have tribal instincts still within us, and I feel this music tends to reach in and touch that part of spirit.

  • I hope that "PRAY" exemplifies that idea. Modern times seem to generate a feeling that contact with a Creator is less important, and regardless of one's religious beliefs, the benefit of prayer is that it encourages contact with the soul, spirit, or whatever you choose to call it, to communicate with a higher being.

  • Prayer is one means by which we can make ourselves better people, and thereby reshape society into a better place. Prayer helps the spirit remain focused in a constantly changing environment for both young and old. By way of the music in this recording, I hope to encourage listeners to pray by whatever means best works for them."

  • this is what Douglas Spotted Eagle says about his music on PRAY (CD)

I found it tremendously inspiring to illustrate.

  • wow im a non-ethnic person and can totally relate to feeling a strong bond to this sort of stuff. it really touches me. i respect cultures so much. just wish i did belong to one of them. so i can relate to what you are saying

  • you need not be ethnic..we were all once tribal, and all lived the same at one time..you relate and it touches you because unconsciously you see truth..get closer to your inner self..and be mindful of the earth..

    for it is in you

  • God bless you for taking time out to answer in such a brilliant fashion!!

  • Simply wonderful!!

    Thanks for having posted it

  • Zensualgreen...thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video and prayer. It seems we are ready to come full circle. The Inuit and Native American Indians always said the earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth.

We have trashed the land we stole in America. We created slavery and racism, murdered millions around the world, and broken all the rules of nature in the name of Christianity.

We are on the brink of self-destruction. We have come full circle.

  • There is an irony about native American culture, it was the first one here, and it lies the wisdom and answers that can guide us through this time of hardship.
