  • add th song "road to paridise" by jodin sparks in another tab it goes really good

  • a good song match for this video is whenever u remember by carrie underwood just take about 15 seconds to 30 seconds off of the video and it will be perfect :0)

  • whoever posted this it needs and update, every time I try to watch it now I can see the video but the music isn't playing. Please Fix ASAP, I love this video!

  • What was the song with this?

  • It was excerpts from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. If you'd like to see this montage with the music, do a search on youtube for "Magnificent 7: Atlanta 1996 Montage (with music)"

  • damn youtube ruined an awesome montage

  • that was pretty good.

it would have been better with music.

  • what haooened 2 the sound?

  • I love this video so much, but for some reason there's isnt any volume anymore!!! Whats up????

  • Wheres the volume???

  • I love this, I could watch it all day

  • that was actually the most inspiring video ever!!

  • was that dominique moceano talking at the beginning? she's so cute!

  • That was Keri Strug

  • oh yeah, that sounds more like keri. but they both have such cute voices

  • Yes, it's Dominique Moceanu.

  • I rememebred that old show in 1996, poor her got sprain ankle but she was tough and she's not give up to lose, she want to win, shes very brave, congulations. Im very proud of her and the women usa teams.

  • the magnificent 7 were magnificent :D

  • This was an outstanding montage. Love that you put in ALL the vaults!

  • the best female olympic team gymnastic ever in the world!!!!!!!!

  • not really considering the fact that the soviets kicked our ass basically almost all of the 1900's except in the 1996 olympics in which we won gold for the first time in gymnastics...

  • double fronts arent that common anymore..

  • Excellent!

  • that must have been amazing to watch

    i'm to young to remember.

One question these girls don't seem as

close as the team now. Were they?

    thanks- Miranda

  • I would say they were definitely close. They were the Magnificent 7 - a very close-knit team. There was a lot of friendship among these girls. Kerri Strug was a bridesmaid in Dominique Moceanu's wedding (Dominique Dawes was also there), Jaycie Phelps was a bridesmaid for Shannon Miller (Dominique Dawes was there too), etc. They were definitely very close.

  • wow, they even had cool leotards, not like the crappy ones from beijing...

  • MOCEANU<33333333333333333333333

  • thought so...she has such a cute tiny voice.

  • who is speaking in the begging?

  • Dominique Moceanu

  • thanks!

  • who didn't compete for them on vault? I thought only 6 could compete and it looked like all 7 did?

  • Amanda Borden (she didn't compete on vault and bars, while Amy Chow didn't compete on beam and floor)

  • This vid gave me chills! Nice job! Except for that little hitch in music I thought it was perfect. Man, that was one of the most memorable summers of my life. Those games were so intense, so incredible.

  • WOW THIS IS AMAZING

    luv this video

  • escanes put this video back up with the music that was taken off this one. just type in the title and add (with music) lets make this montage great again! PEACE

  • They are the magnificent 7 alright.

  • dominique moceanu is the greatest thing ever. she's even cool now, strong and smart, fighting the corollies (sp?)

  • it needs music.

    :D

  • This video sucks without the music..

  • ah good ole VHS

  • We Americans need to cherish this, because it's going to be a cold day in hell before the devil goes back down to Georgia and knocks Russians off the balance beam and causes them to lose the team gold.

  • uhmmm.. what? the top two programs in the world right now are china and usa. russia just got shut out of medals at the olympics. where have you been?

  • My comment was a play on words re: Dominique's floor music and some of the havoc that was caused during it. "The Devil Went Down To Georgia."

  • that was one of the dumbest comments i have ever heard

  • omg! that first date is my birthday!!!!!

  • On the subject of music...does anyone remember the Macarena being pumped out over the PA at the gymnastics between events? I also remember a female Police officer dancing to it while it was playing. Apparently she was reprimanded for it lol

  • Why is there no sound? Anyone else experiencing this?

  • wow. I hate this video now that there is no sound.

  • Like I mentioned below, my guess is that it's because the video was using copyrighted music from Pirates of the Caribbean. Although, there are other montages of these olympics that also use copyrighted music, so who knows?

  • You're right. I didn't want to delete it altogether, so I had no other option than to remove the sound. I might try to do another Magnificent 7 montage sometime.

  • What a remarkably silly thing for them to do. This video has been viewed over 110 THOUSAND times, with comment after comment about how good the music is. You'd think that they'd love the free advertisement. It's not like you're using the entire CD and making it available for download. You're using snips from just a couple of the songs for Pete's sake!

  • can you please upload this with the sound somewhere else?

  • The Soviets used drugs on their atheletes and those athletes are suffering the effects big time. Look it up. Unbeatable, they cheated.

  • Is it just me or has the sound been disabled on this vid? I'd guess that there was a copyright infringement from using music from Pirates of the Caribbean. That'd be odd, though, since I assume that the video footage is also copyrighted but is still on Youtube...

The ironic thing is that after seeing this montage, I bought the soundtrack to Pirates, which I'd have never done without this free advertisement.

  • this sucks. why would they do this until now?

  • I love this music! They play this at my daughters tae kwon do school to pump them up!!! Hell, it pumps me up!!!! These girls Rocked!!! BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this dramatic music

  • i live in atlanta and went to some of the olympic games. of course i was only 4. i really wish i could remember this. all i remember is being obsessed with kerri strug!

  • wow gymnist from a lond time ago were really good!!!!!!!:)

  • what's the name of the music. can someone please tell me?

  • It's the music from The Pirates of The Caribbean trilogy.

  • thanks!!!!!

  • Love watching this, my little five year girl gets excited by it. I watched these 1996 Olympics and it was great to watch and see them win finally.

  • On a side note, the new scoring system is trash, and the tie breaker on the uneven bars event, while fair in practice, turned out to be garbage - Nastia deserved that medal.

  • The Chinese did not prove that the Americans were unbeatable, because that has never been true, and China did perform better this Olympic year. Don't forget that the age requirement was not always in place, and younger girls have competed and won. It was put in place to ensure that young girls whose bodies were still growing did not injure themselves, not because they thought that younger girls weren't able to compete.

  • the U.S was never "unbeatable"! I wish! But they've only won 1 olympic team gold...hardly unbeatable (and this is coming from an American).

The closest anyone comes to unbeatable was the Soviets before '96.

  • What's your point? We have always had a solid team, and just because you'll never be good enough to go to the Olympics and even try doesn't mean USA blows. Also, everyone knows those Chinese girls were only like 9 years old.

  • the thing is; you're both right! alemaniamundial is right, the chinese proved that the americans are not unbeatable, and jackyebabe, u're also right, the chinese didn't win fairly, they cheated with their girls' age. but in the end, they were the better team that night. too many mistakes on the usa side. it'll be an interesting fight to watch in 2009; who'll win the gold medal at the worlds?

  • also keep in mind the current gold medalist Nastia Lukin is from Russia. well if russia is so good why didnt she choose to play for her home country.

  • u cant' see it that way; true, she was born in russia, but her parents left when she was like 2 years old! she was raised as an american, she is not russian, she says it herself, even though her elegant style is very much russian (through her mum, i guess), she never felt like she was russian! why would she be? her home country is the usa; that's where she's lived 90% of her life!

  • Don't even mention money and China not needing any for the Olympics you moron... I dare to bring up the fact that China spent the most money on any Olympics ever. 2008 games were used mainly to make China look nice, friendly and most of all POWERFUL. If money isn't important, why do so many soviet champions now live in the USA? Two words: "FREEDOM AND OPPORTUNITY" Quit dising us, lest we find soviet videos and smear them with verbal shit.

  • Well said.

  • cute catchphrase. not.

don't mix sports with politics or whatever else you've got against the US.

Athletes (from any country) work hard to win and you win some and lose some.

This team earned their gold. This year the girls made mistakes and got silver. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • Hello! ... I am from Chile, and I am charmed with this video ... undoubtedly I see the development of the sport with this video amazing, that you the Americans ... here in Chile our sport is not proffesional, lamentably we will never be a power..

I remember to see these gymnasts and they are spectacular...

I congratulate them ... a greeting from Chile.

  • thank you! one nice comment atleast.

and don't worry, the US became "big" in gymnastics in the past 10-15 yrs. but it all started with mary lou.

all it takes for any country is 1 person to make it big and then the younger girls will follow.

  • this is amazing! you did such a good job matching everything with the music. i loved it

  • im only in levle thraning 6 the best i can do is a layout on floor and a cartweel back tuck on beam and 3 giants to a layout on bars oh and aierils are easy

  • Don't get to say this alot about youtube editors . . . but AWESOME JOB!!

  • cool montage! I was born same day same time as all this was happening! yeah 7-23-96!!

  • Everybody watch the whole thing because near the end this girl did a perfec vault with an injured leg. Great Montage

  • Woooooooooow! Amazing montage!

  • i've been in gymnastics for nine years and i can barely do an ariel!!!!!!!they must of had lotsssssssssssssssssssss of training!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by the way an ariel is a cartwheel with no hands.

  • Watching these girls makes me wish I was American Lol.

British havent been so good at gymnasts but I hav to admit they did well at Beijing with the rowing and cycling.

However, I still wish I was american lol

  • wow....they were amazing..

  • that was amazing! =D

    beautiful video

  • amazing vid! well done doublelayout10! the music fits perfectly! any chance u're gonna make a montage with the 2008 usa team? they're not gold medalists, but we still love them! :-)

  • Wow, that almost brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful montage!!! Well done. They were truly a dream team.

  • I believe, the two of the best and most talented US team who competed in the Olympics was this team and Team 2008.

  • 3:29 best moment in the whole vid. shes got an almost broken ankle and she sticks it one foot. thats just unbelievable.

  • Beautifully put together! I love watching this!

  • Wow! This is Olympics dreamworld good! The music works so well. So cool to watch.

  • usually great sports achievements like these only happen ever 20-25 or so years so we probably cant expect something so great to happen again until like 2016. and i dont mean just u.s gold, but a melting pot team and a win with such a dramatic flair...that is what makes the magnificent 7 one of the greatest olympics stories...getting the gold was probably the least impressive thing about them.

  • dominic es la mejor de todas la mas chida y la mas bonita la #1

  • Bela!!

  • Amazing moments.

  • have you seen shannon miller on the "claritin ads"?

  • yep. it brought me back. I thought it was so cute.

  • Yes, haha! She can still do a BHS, BHS on beam. She's retired and has more stuff than me!

  • Unbelievable. Thank you for this.

  • That was incredible! Props to you!

  • The BEST US Womens gymanastics team ever assembled. Shannon Miller was my favorite ever sunce the Bareclona games.

  • He's a Pirate- Composed by: Klaus Badelt

  • i remember playing this song at my spring concert in school on a marimba. i caught so much attention! lol

  • memories i tell ya...

  • this is the best magnificent 7 montage i've ever seen!

  • this is THEE BEST Female Gymnast Team EVERRRR!!!!great memories(Atlanta 1996)!!!!Dominique Moceanu is too cute(kinda reminds me of Shawn Johnson a little bit)...every female gymnastics team always has one smaller pretite member.=)

  • I remember watching them when I was a kid, it was so exciting, I really looked up to Dominique Moceanu. I loved them all though, ahh the memories!

  • I too, was obsesses with these girls. I still like Gutsu and Smorgi the best, but I like Miller too

  • The BEST Olympic Gymnastic Team EVER!!

  • I've had strong American pride for the Olympics since 1988. I am thoroughly enjoying the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Michael Phelps is INCREDIBLE, the best ever. But, I will never forget how strong and SELFLESS Kerri Strug was on our home turf in '96. It was AWESOME. PERIOD.

  • I was 12 yrs old and I was obssesed w/ these girls I wish I could be a gymnast but I was 5 ft since I was like 5 lol

  • i watched every bit of it, they even went on tour afterwards and me my family saw them. 96 was a very good olympics

  • This was amazing. I was only 6 years old, and the Olympics were in my city. Nothing will ever beat this team.

  • Dominique is freaking hot.. Even in this Video.

  • I was two years old during these olympic games. I keep watching these videos and thinking, "Man do I wish I could have been able to watch these on television and expierence what the whole world did." I'm watching the 2008 beijing olympics, and god they're awesome, but what kerri strug did on the vault, that was deffinatly the #1 bravest move in olympic/sports history. And these girls are just phenomenal. GREAT VIDEO! 5*

  • Great video! Wish I had been watching when it was going on.

  • OMG! I was 10 years old and I remember quite clearly everything that happened on that olympic game... It was so shocking! You made me cry with the video because I refreshed the feelings and the tension I experienced at that time. Great montage!

  • This is absolutely one of my favorite gymnastics montages EVER! i just luv it. Great job!

  • yeah watching this when i was 9 is one of my strongest memories. it was pure exhilaration and wonder watching them. it will never be this good again, such personality!!

  • It's called "He's a Pirate" from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

I think part of what made this moment so special was having the games here in the USA. The girls knew that the whole nation was watching, and they were willing to do everything they could to bring home the medal.

Quite possibly the same feeling that the Chinese athletes have in the current games.

  • great montage. what is the song used?

  • gah this still brings a tear to my eye!!!! this is and will always be my fav olympic team the best!

  • I was 12 yrs old during these games and every little girl was absolutely in love with these girls. I don't even remember exactly what got me to watch the gymnastics because I had never been interested before, but my little friends and I used to jump around the living room and pretend we were in the olympics..and I've loved the women's gymnastics ever since.

  • I was 12 too, and I was living in Atlanta at the time. These Olympics affected the way that I have watched every Olympics since... we are really lucky to be part of this generation!

  • this is what the 1996 games revolved around... these girl where amazing! never has the US have such a strong team like that one!

  • AWESOME montage!! Really great!!

  • Great video! I really liked it.

  • Man. I remember I had the hugest crush on Dominique Moceanu back in '96 (I was 13).

  • Good to know i wasnt the only 1 wit a crush on her while this was goin on.. I was 12 and i remember stretchin at home to try to be in shape for the 2000 olympics.. lol

  • the gymnastics was the only thing that I watched during the 96 olympics(maybe some of the walking race also)

  • I really hope that our Women's team can recreate that tingly feeling that I got 12 years ago. I remember just being astonished when I was 10 at what I was seeing.

    Gymnastics forever!

  • Why wasnt amanda bordon vaulting?

  • this is incredible. i hope that i fortunate enough to see a few more moments as great as this was.

  • I was only 5 during the 1996 Olympics, but this still gives me chills.

  • hey i was only 17 months old.

  • I was barely 4 during this olympics.. i wasn't in gymnastics yet.

  • I was 9 at the time, but this video gives me chills!

  • this and the tara lipinski gold are probably my favorite olympic moments... to me its just unbeliveable people this young can not crack under pressure.

  • i was 14 when this came on and it brings back so many memories. this is my fav momment of the 96 olympics

  • omg this was 12 years ago 2day :)

  • ricas

  • Great job!!!

  • I am a 28 year old male, and when this was on i was 16 years old and sorry to say i hated womens sports. After seeing this video and remembering being glued to the TV when it was on, i can honestly say it was in my mind the greatest olympic game/memory I have. Great video thanks.

  • I know you said this music was from the Pirates soundtracks, but what was the name of the song specifically? I just loved it! This montage was awesome!

  • the music is called "He's a Pirate" I like this!!

  • Fantastic video! Loved the music choice too!

  • this was the best American womens gymnastic team that i have ever seen......

  • i agree. but this years might be a close second!!!

  • well i have not seen much of this years gymnast but Nastia seems to be the next big one for martha...... i find body wise she reminds me of shannon miller.

  • I definitely agree! :D

  • duh. i think anyone could agree.

  • Dominique Moceanu is beautiful!!!! I'll do almost anything to go out with her!!

  • what did she do at 3:30-break or sprain?

  • She sprained it and tore some ligaments.. she didn't break it, though.

  • ow,i tore all da ligaments n tendons in my foot once, cant believe she stuck that after!

  • wooooooooooooooow

  • They all look and sound like such little girls. They look really young for their ages. :)

  • they gave their hearts out!!They MADE history!!!

  • there will never be another team like this!!!!

  • what is the song of this?

  • It's from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack.

  • you are soo amazing at making videos!

    what software do you use????

  • Thanks :) I used Windows Movie Maker for most of them, although the latest ones were made with iMovie, as I recently got a Mac.

  • ooohhh...amanda's layout is one of the best so far...it's hard!

  • Nice tribute to the magnificent seven. Dominique Moceanu still my favorite!

  • Yeah she really looks like such a little girl. She was good too, very talented. :)

  • This is so great! Love the music!!

  • Excellent montage with great editing! They were all dancing to the Pirates theme!! :D

  • Ok I absolutely love this! I have watched about 187,000 times since I found it -yesterday I might add :-D It combines two of my favorite things-gymnastics and the Pirates of the Carribean music! You did an amazing job on this video, I especially like the bars part at the beginning because it looks like they are flying! Rock on!

  • i mean...dominique moceanu,not dawes...

was that her voice on begining...i think it does....

and poooor little girl...fell down bouth vaults

  • Yes, that's Dominique talking at the beginning.

  • oh that dominique...when i hear her voice, mekes me wanna cry....

    she is beautifoul

  • love it! thank you!

  • this really captures the team final as it progressed, you did an amazing job. thanks for sharing this video with us!
