Well she was....but everyone has to grow up sometime. that is was the musical is based on: Wednesday growning up discovering what it is like to be a woman and how her family deals with her growing up as well. Oh and she even has found a boyfriend.

I love this opening but I guess I still love the classic addams opening number from the tv series. I remember staying up late when i was 7 just to watch it, so to see it become a musical just makes my heart jump. can't wait for the musical cd

clandango makes a little more sense than "when you're an addams", because the addams wouldn't actually talk about how strange they are. they think they're a normal family.

but "when you're an addams" is a way better opening number.

@grwood93 I agree that When You're an Addams is a better number but if u think about it they DO need to say what they DO to help the audince figure out each character in the story. And in from their point of view it is still normal because it is their everyday life. But I also like Clandango because it talks about the family's rituals more but oh well. (and I didnt mean to criticize I was jsut stating what I thought.)

I saw this on the soft opening. The reviews ripped it to shreds because it wasn't a duplicate of the TV show and because it's a comedy not a normal broadway musical. This preview is rubbish but the show was absolutely hysterical. I recommend it.

I saw it last Saturday night at the Lunt-Fontanne, Lurch is awesome, Grandmama is hilarious, Nathan as Gomez is definitely growing on me and enjoyable...but bebe needs to go, she is ruining the show. She absolutely sucks as Morticia. The visiting family in the show is pretty hilarious, especially the mother who rhymes all her words, haha, she is really funny. oh and, a lot of the songs are sung in front of the curtain which is really stupid, i dont know why the hell they did that

Well I saw it.

As a hardcore fan, there were maybe three details I would have changed- things I felt didn't jibe with certain characters. But for me...the good really outweighed the bad. Nathan and Bebe were great- but Kevin Chamberlain and Jackie Hoffman deserve a lot of praise too. The staging and concepts are excellent as are many of the songs. the puppetry is dazzling.

I went to the first night of the preview in NYC on Monday night and I absolutely loved it! Nathan and Bebe were fantastic...the set was beautiful as were the transitions from scene to scene. And Krysta Rodriguez (Wednesday) has an amazing voice!

First of all, who's bright idea was it to cast Nathan Lane as Gomez Addams? That was the shows first mistake....Second mistake, unfortunately, was BeBe as Morticia...their take on these classic characters was just not what people wanted...Gomez is supposed to have sex appeal! The supportive cast is AMAZING though...this show is GREAT if you can get past the two leads, and is DEFINITELY worth seeing, even if just for Jackie Hoffman and Krista Rodriguez
