Alaska this year asked for almost $300 per person in requests for pet projects (ear marks), that's more than any other state received, per person. While Mayor she left her city $22 million in debt. Are you kidding that the only people who's opinions matter are those who served in the military? We definitely appreciate their service, but many of the military are the least educated citizens of our country who do not have other options available to them, and if they did, they would not serve. Being in the military is not a litmus test for intelligence.

The Military is to be respected and during World War 2 we had Men flocking to protect this country and I think Americans will continue to do so, but it is true many people from the Military do not come out with skills needed in today's society to make a great living that is the Gov'ts fault who has taken away many of there benefits.
They have a high divorce rate and a history of drug abuse and Alcoholism because the govvie does not care one bit for them when they discharge..

Sarah Palin's speech was effective at rallying the GOP base that John McCain was struggling to bring home.
