Hello there. I am eager to be able to draw 2d animation in a program where the previous picture i drew is shown in light grey on the next canvas. Or something similar. In other words i want the old drawing technique in a program. For PC. But i can't download pencil, it says they can't find the file. And i can't find anything else. Can anyone please help me? It has to be free btw. :) thx!

That would be my cat! XD That sounds JUST like my cat! Anyway, i was wondering if it was hard to draw on there? Do you have to hold still or do you draw and the pencil just follows your mouse when you click? I have this weird drawing program that came with my computer and it is VERY hard to draw with because it wont make nice circles like you do in your tutorial.

@ritzioDP you may need to get a file converter depending on what kind of file Pencil saves your stuff. If you have windows movie maker and you import your pencil animation into that you may be able to do it automatically without getting a file converter.

Guys , Pecil is not like other animation programs ... if u saw blender ... u will know that thi program is weak ... as a beginner u should start with Pencil or Pivot Stick Figure Animator .... but as a professional u should use Blender and some others like it ... if u want more help i am redy ! just replay and cm see my pivots on my channel , i will be waitin' fr replays

@EnterArt100 pivot in between pencil and tisfat but flash is in between Toon Boom and blender and i think blender is probably the mos professional now pencil +tisfat=pivot pivot+tisfat=flash flash+Toon Boom=blender

Pencil is good but there isnt enough colours.

@TheMrSunShine22 In the right hand side window, it lists loads of colours. When you choose one, it changes a small box, (next to a plus and minus sign), if you click the box with the colour, it comes to a colour mixer where you can change the colours.

the problem with pencil is, you can´t export your cartoon as a movie, right? So I had the same problems but now I found a solution: go on “file” than “export” and than “Image Sequence”. You have to save all pictures as “PNG”!! Than you can open the pictures in another program, e.g. windows movie maker. All pictures should be shown for 0,2 sec, a very short time! Than you can save your cartoon as a move and put it on you tube.

@simplelee92 You can also open the PNG pictures with another movie program or with photoshop (create there a flip book and save it).

And very important: The first layer in pencil must be a bitmap layer and you have to colour the backround white or with another colour. YOU NEED A COLOURED BACKROUND OR YOUR PNG PICTURES WILL BE SHOWN AS BLACK AREAS WHEN YOU OPEN IT IN ANOTHER PROGRAMM!!!!

I also create the final movie with the camera layer and save than the PNG pictures, than all pictures have the same size.
