whats with the one cared trolly 1:33 i remembered one day at heath street i saw a one cared trolly is it because they didnt have anyone to cover anythere car?
@3siadrak Could be anything. Maybe lack of available working equipment. Lack of available personnel. Maybe rush hour was dieing down. Only the MBTA knows these secrets.
I live in Central Europe and I think it is horrible what happened in US! GM are just criminals! They´ve killed streetcars which motivated people to use public transport and not to pollute city in cars! It is paradox that tram systems in Eastern Europe were saved thanks communism. People couldn´t afford cars and I´m happy thanks it! Please build more LRT and streetcars in US!
It was GM and Sinclair oil if I recall--your congress gave them such a wack--they were fined $1500 for tearing up the trolley track which were in every town. GM sold buses and Sinclair--
I bought a brand new 1995 Chevy S10 once. Aside from the 50 dollar junkboxes that I drove when I was a kid 45 years ago the S10 was the worst piece of junk that I ever owned. After the warranty expired and the troubles kept coming I asked GM for help. In essence that told me "tough luck sucker". Worst company on earth.
Too powerful labor unions with unrealistic demands helped greatly in the destruction of this crappy company. Congress should let them go Chapter 11 so that can rebuild on the business model that Toyota and Honda have been operating under. If the unions don't like it just let the US automakers die. They don't deserve to live.
back in the olden days we had trolleys in Albany New York. I never saw them but I remember the tracks in the street when I was a kid. the tracks were torn up or paved over. The mayor and town fathers wish we had trolleys now. I tell U. but it is too late they are gone.
There used to be streetcar lines and interurban trolley lines everywhere. Boston was covered with streetcar tracks. LA had a big system. GM somehow helped get that system dumped so that they could sell LA their buses. That's the story I heard.

@PKingman I love how you never show signs of getting frustrated by these comments.

@Smackdown9586 It's not frustration. It is depressing sometimes.

WOW! Modern times! They certainly don't look like the orange-colored trolleys that I remember! Is there more room than way back in the early 70's?
