Is Aermotor The Official Name For This Type Of Windmill?

    I Have A Passion Too!

    Thanks

  • Our neighbor in California had one of these. I remember being about 10 years old when she asked me to turn it off. I'd done it several times; The chain went up top to turn it off. The wooden lever came up under my chin and just about knocked me out. I didn't get it pushed all the way down.

  • MY GRANDPA IS AWESOME!!

    -kate

  • I would like to set a same business in nova-scotia, Canada

  • because sometimes behind the wing is bent at 90 degrees??

  • I live in CO and saw a new electric wind generator in a man's yard and it wasn't turning, but his neighbor had an old rust windmill in his field and it was turning like crazy.

  • Where can I get aermotor replacement parts?

  • @TehCho what size? Maybe I can help. Dad had a small used aermotor company. I still have most of the equipment to repair and some parts.

  • @donarms1974 I'm not even sure, I'd have to ask. The windmill at my grandparent's place was damaged by high winds, and is now chained to prevent movement. It's rather hard to explain since I don't know the technical terms, but the support ring that held the blades has broken, leaving a semi collapsed windmill that I'd love to see in working order again.

  • I work on ur windmills everday and i truely love aeromotor. its been a pleasure to do wat i do and work on ur great windmills.

  • can somebody please give me a company that makes them near europe or even from america or has someone an buildplan to make one i'm a farmer from belgium and want to fill a pond for irrigation of crops whit it i'm searching for a hole time but can't find anything usefull

  • @partyanimal231 get an aeromoter sent to u

  • @partyanimal231 Look for "Bosman molentje". They're a bit smaller than Aermotors. Alternatively, Bakker in IJlst still produces their "Record" windpump. Both are produced in the Netherlands, so a bit closer to home. Might save you some postage and packaging costs.

  • Great to see windmills making a comeback!

Here in Australia windmills went through a very similar scenario to the US.

Once there were many small manufacturers, now there are only a few.

"Southern Cross" from Queensland is probably the most famous and the longest surviving brand.

Windmills drawing water from deep bores allowed beef cattle to be grown in Australia's semi-desert "Outback".

Before electricity came to rural areas virtually ever farm had at least one windmill.

  • @OzzInter jmjkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • you go daddy!!! i love your video. im looking all over again... here in Ukraine i'm planing to build manufacturing company of windmills... its a good inspiration thank you very much God bless you!

  • A++

  • I just paid 450 for a 50 foot NW Windmill Minneapolis Minn. Fan is mangled, tail fin angle irons bent severely, fin bent some, shot up some, swivel pipe nearly worn through, some smaller tower pieces bent...and I can't wait to bend it straight, do some welding on it and put it up along I94 just for looks. any word on how rare it is? The 50ft Aermotor I grew up with seemed beefier

  • This man makes a fine product, but he seems to be stuck in a retro time warp. He continues with the old machine but could upgrade it's uses to include electrical generation. A slight tweak in the blade design would also create more power but with no additional costs of manufacture. I wish him well, but he also needs to modernize.

  • I want one, to bad i live in Norway....

  • He is mistaken about being the only windmill manufacturer in the US. Dempster is still making windmills in Nebraska.

  • just got a 1966 aermotor windmill on 20 acres...very excited, always wanted one...can't hardly wait to see her pumping...

  • OC88, I know how you feel, my dad, my cousin and I are restoring my grandfather's aermotor windmills. After changing the leathers in the cyllinder, and shortening the stroke, we have one pumping water. I would like to see it working in better in lighter air. We took another off the tower today to rebuild. Any forums for more info?

  • How much does one cost?

  • I wonder if they can be adapted to generate electricity.

  • .In Australia we have moved on from these dinosaurs to use solar pumps we can turned on and off via satelite..Those old windmills were tough no doubt about it....They are called "Southern cross" down here. They never stop pumping while the wind blows. science says that underground water IS NOT LIMITLESS..taking too much can raise the salt water table making your water salty and killing your soil..."Why change a 100 yrs of farming practice"? COZ we are stuffing it up!!!!!

  • i love aermotor windmills, i have like 30 of them in my ranch and all last years before needing repair. Nice quality,.

  • This was a very interesting story. I truly believe that they probably make the best windmills.

  • WELL,i wonder how it would worked here in Eastern Quebec with our salted air.i find them so beautyful,,,an majestic.maybe i will found an used one and try it for an alternative power, windcharger i would modify it.

    Veebic

    East Quebec

  • I live in Malta Europe and we have a few Aermotor wind mills from 1930's still working.

    Well Done Aermotor

  • aermotor has been in mexico for a long time and my ranch has a lot of windmills of this company (probably like 35).

  • Do anybody know where could I buy a wind mill to pump water?

  • Hi. We repair windpumps Aermotor(USA), FIASA (Arg) in the Llanos of the Orinoco river eastern Colombia. And we produce new windpumps. Aermotors are really fantastic, but also FIASA. Best windpumps now are ours(!!)

  • Why cant u workout on Archimedes water pumps attached to wind mills...

  • these are 802 mills not the famed chicago mills which are 702 mills, now you now what else is blowing in the video

  • hello, somebody already stated it, but they are not the only manufacturer of windmills in the usa. they are the only manufacturer of a complete line of new aermotor windmills 6' to 16' wheel diameter. there are 2 rebuilder/maufacturers in the usa the both make a new 6' and 8' windmill, and offer complete lines of rebuilt windmills from 6'to 20' wheel diameters, these are Dakota Windmill Hurley, S.D. and Muller IND. Yankton S.D.. Although it has been rumored Mullers is going to Quit.

  • en ARGENTINA hay molinos aermotor desde por lo menos 1917

  • Aermotor is not the only manufacturer in the US. . Dakota Windmill in Hurley South Dakota (605) 238-5110

  • Why doesn't Aermotor make a model to generate electricity?

  • because they do one thing, and they do it well. look at there website, they explain it a bit.

  • I had ben told that Aermotor Windmills had gone out of business and the only kind you can get was built in Europe.

I am glad they put these clips on Youtube.

"Without Water there Would be No Life"

    -DH ranch

  • iv got a 100 ft one of those

  • Those Aermotor Windmills are Beauty!

  • I live near New England ,no one has ever answered this question, does a wind mill make noise when it work? ie ketches the wind?(will my neighbors complain about the noise?

  • It depends on the style of windmill that you use. Some are noisier than others. Homemade owns are typically more noisy than comercial built ones but if its done nicely and correctly you can make them very quiet too. if the windmill is a good solid unit that doesn't have a bunch of rattles in it for the most part the only noise you hear is a whisper quiet whoosh in the wind from the blades cutting though the air and maybe a little humming from the generator if not insulated for sound.

  • No man, only if wind is too fast maybe...they are alone silent machine.

  • I'm in Texas as well and I'm erecting a windmill now. Mine is an original Aermotor with an 8-ft wheel and a 50-ft tower. Bob Phillips' crew does all their programs very well and this one is no exception. You can catch his shows on Sunday mornings on Dish channel 231 (RFDTV).

  • I never thought I would be sitting under our Aermotor as it spins, watching a video about the company on a laptop computer. Nothing like being in Texas.
