Not true. liddell is not a boxer. He is a puncher based from his Kempo Karate style. Liddell has no head movements, leaves himself open, moves back alot without initiating side stepping (even he has improved on that alot) and he throws looping punches. A Boxer would give Liddell problems. just look at his fights against Rampage and Corture. Kimbo shows better Boxing skills than Liddell. The secret behind Liddell's success is his incredible take down defense, his power n his accuracy.
I disagree with the notion of him being the best "pound per pound" fighter. Even Arvlosky would give him problems. Plus with the addition of Cro Cop and the rise of Brendon Vera it is safe to say that UFC is becoming very competitive. But I agree that Liddell is a great dangerous fighter.
And you cannot say that Liddell has no style. He was a former WKA Heavyweight champion. His style is kickboxing based from his Karate roots (which explains his accuracy and power for his looping punches and his kicking power) and his wrestling background comes into play when he defends against takedowns.
Kimbo has been working on his take down and grappling defense since he lost to Gannon 3 years ago. He got his Boxing and elbows on check. The majority of UFC fighters throws looping punches. Kimbo throws them straight in. If he excells in his take down defenses and his conditioning than Kimbo can do pretty well.

I would take Kimbo anytime,I'm a brazilian Jiu-jitsu fighter,I've trained in US also,I fight for fun, and I've seen lots of guys like Kimbo getting their ass whopped by skinny brazilian MMA Jiu-jitsu fighters,I'm young,Kimo is too old, and I'm about his weight and taller tha him.He would never, ever make it to UFC or Pride or K1.Fighting is also about strategy and inteligence,and Kimo is too dumb,all he can do is throw hard punches and that's about it.

you wouldn't last 10 secs with kimbo, you have to avoid kimbos punches, even if you go for the clinch and take him to the ground, he only has to punch you once then your finnished!! if you wore a Gi still wouldn't make a difference plus kimbo is trainning in MMA. so your ground work wont work on him.

Not true. liddell is not a boxer. He is a puncher based from his Kempo Karate style. Liddell has no head movements, leaves himself open, moves back alot without initiating side stepping (even he has improved on that alot) and he throws looping punches. A Boxer would give Liddell problems. just look at his fights against Rampage and Corture. Kimbo shows better Boxing skills than Liddell. The secret behind Liddell's success is his incredible take down defense, his power n his accuracy.

I disagree with the notion of him being the best "pound per pound" fighter. Even Arvlosky would give him problems. Plus with the addition of Cro Cop and the rise of Brendon Vera it is safe to say that UFC is becoming very competitive. But I agree that Liddell is a great dangerous fighter.

And you cannot say that Liddell has no style. He was a former WKA Heavyweight champion. His style is kickboxing based from his Karate roots (which explains his accuracy and power for his looping punches and his kicking power) and his wrestling background comes into play when he defends against takedowns.

Kimbo has been working on his take down and grappling defense since he lost to Gannon 3 years ago. He got his Boxing and elbows on check. The majority of UFC fighters throws looping punches. Kimbo throws them straight in. If he excells in his take down defenses and his conditioning than Kimbo can do pretty well.
