@Rosalie200 That was Pippa Funnell on her first horse Sir Barnaby. She said in her autobiography that he backed off when he saw the huge ditch and didn't get enough height over the fence so they just bounced off of the top

Does anyone know if the jockey at 7:47 was OK? That looked awful, it was the only bit of the vid where I actually gasped out loud. I don't think you should show clips where people actually died... that seems a bit wrong, to be honest. Some of the clips are fantastic though. Was that Milton I saw jumping the huge triple?

@Callipygiancharley The racing clip at 7:47 i saw that on Untamed and Uncut and i think i originally saw it an Impact Stories of Survival, but i'm not sure. Both horses died on impact, the Jockey survived but wasn't necesarily OK she suffered severe brain damage and forgot her years of racing and was actually paralyzed for a short while of time but i think she can now walk and is back in the saddle but just at walking with a guide i think? I can't remember everything afterwards

The incident at 7:41 wasn't the jockey's fault. A horse got loose on the track and took off the wrong way during a race. The Jockey couldn't see the loose horse because of the low-visibility weather conditions. Neither horse made it and the jockey (to the best of my knowledge) was severely injured but made a full recovery. (That's similar to what happened to Tin Cup Chalice, same situation but during training hours, not a race)

@Vornagariel Well I'm pretty sure after a very long time spend in a coma, the rider opened her eyes right before they were going to pull the plug. Then she had severe brain dammage and didn't have the maturaty past the age of 2 or 3.

That was a few years ago though, so I don't know.

@Cheesekake343: Did she? :( I read somewhere (can't remember, it was a while ago) that she had a severe back/neck injury and wouldn't be riding anymore but recovered well enough to walk and all that. I sure hope she didn't sustain that kind of severe brain damage. =(

No it doesn't sound stupid, Milton and his rider, John Whitaker, were one of the most famous international showjumping partnerships ever, they jumped at the olympics, at hickstead, probably every international competition you could think of. Milton was also the only horse (outside of horse racing) to win more than £1million in prize money! He passed away a few years ago, he was a very famous and very adored horse! :)
