  • Thums up if Thom Yorke is your best friend.

  • Absolutely love this song. Is the video clip from the movie Contact?

  • That was powerful. #goosebumps

  • I am so glad I had most of a family to teach me how to like good music. Me and my friend are the only ones at our school that likes radiohead.

  • @TREWLYKEWL I doubt that.

  • is Thom a millionaire in real life? do his albums sell so well?

  • @JimPatriotPL Are you serious?

  • @JimPatriotPL 7millions copies of "ok computer" were sold, did you see the prices of a ticket to see the band live? music festivals now pay them 300.000€ for a concert... and there is the marchandising around the band...

  • You don't even need to know what the lyrics are saying to feel the impact of this song. Beautiful.

  • Its so minimalistically powerful.

The use of the broken old piano makes the sound as natural and human as possible and i love that.

    Like alot.

  • Creative video. One would think that the geometry of our The Milky Way would be more accurate, but we cannot all be experts in gravity and basic calculus. Great track, nonetheless!!

  • @peternicholls88 nerd ass nigguh

  • hermoso tu video gracias

  • pure

  • fan-fucking-tastic

  • greatness

  • I got the sheet music, in case anyone is interested.

  • @HomunculusProject I'm very interested kind sir.

  • Its not really the lyrics that I like, its the piano <3

  • Great song... I'm taking piano lessons soon, this inspired me completly

  • Increible me encanta la canción

    A-B side yeahh

  • Hermoso :) Una de las canciones más bellas y más poco conocidas del mundo. Una lástima. Aunque, no sé, no es la novia de Thom, bañandose? Hmm.. No estoy seguro, quizás y yo estoy mal. De cualquier manera, gracias por subir el video.

Por cierto, no sabes si esta canción está en algún EP o algo así?

  • I love this. The visuals exactly represent what I see when I close my eyes and listen to Thom.

    Cool. Very cool.

  • My feet weren't quite planted on the ground when I made that first comment. Missed the reference to this song in particular. Anyways, No I hadn't realized until you said it, and I find that pretty comical. The song is still amazing though.

    Peace.

  • and your a retard, i never said that their songs werent, as you say "eloquent". i just said that this man CLEARLY wrote this song as a joke, just look at the fucking lyrics, and look at the name of the song! the name of the song is usually in the VERSE of the song, but this song is about how HE MADE HIS MILLIONS ! fuck your stupid

  • I don't know where got the footage from, but this with the song makes me cry. I think about the unimaginable vastness of space whenever I hear this song.

  • this music make me wanna get high

  • people do know that this is not a deep look into ones soul but how the music industry work right ? i see people preeching that this song is about the universe and heaven and shit, but this song is just portraying how some bands and singers just want to make money by singing BULLSHIT ! There really is no sentences throughout the whole song, none at all...which is how some people make millions ! "JUST SING BULLSHIT ! As long as it has a melody.

  • @SOUTHPARKFOREVER240 Lots of the other songs are quite eloquent. Your argument is invalid. Radiohead <3

  • Wow.......wow...

  • I'm gay and I'd marry Thom Yorke.

  • @thepopdemons I'm straight and I'd marry Thom Yorke

  • Radiohead's B Sides kill. I honestly find some of them better than album tracks. This and Kinetic are 2 of my favorite songs. This song is beyond beautiful.

  • Awesome visual. Where did you get it?

  • this is the most beautiful song i've ever heard, its kinda nnoying that they never released it, but its a massive reward for the true fans who listen to b-sides.

  • @RibbidBrick AMEN to that =)

  • @RibbidBrick C Actually it's on the special edtition of Ok Computer (the CD)

  • @manu2067 its also on certain versions of the no surprises single :)

  • fuckin' awesome song!

  • Talk show host, Fog, How i made my millions....what great b sides

  • @YerJob

Those 3 are defs their 3 best b-sides, + Gagging order and Lift

  • How I made my Millions... Interesting title. I see it as a story from a personal perspective. A man remorseful, who fell into the pursuit of power coming to terms with the fact that in the end he'll have to give it all up.

  • This is really, just, perfect.

  • i'm not sure but the lyrics seem to be more or less what he thinks sounds good with the melody, as if he's just laying down the very first demo for the song.

  • "honey its time for dinner!" " Give me 3 minutes." Thats how i wish to imagine how this song came along.

  • Wow....

  • wow just wow

  • I can't stop looking at this.

  • such a beautiful song. Made me have goosbumps and shed a tear.

  • Your comment made me shed a fag. Good song tho.

  • @CoozyMcMillan

You're comment, made me think, you're an asshole. Oh no, someone has a truly emotional reaction, to a piece of music. God forbid. You're such a twat.

  • @CoozyMcMillan

    I meant to say "Your."

  • Well then clearly you didn't see the deep metaphors and subtext which I so painstakingly whateverd.

  • @CoozyMcMillan

"Which you so painstakingly whateverd."? That's nice; on top of insulting a person's reaction to a song, you're also, apparently, a pretentious wanker.

  • yeah well your poetry sucks balls

  • @CoozyMcMillan

It does indeed suck balls; your boyfriend's.

  • The ending of this video is epic: the universe is what you percieve it to be! *Radiohead worship*

  • I won't comment on the song, the range of emotions it gives me is too wide and ever-changing to say something coherent about it.

But the video struck me as well, it is great by itself plus wonderfully fitting with the music.

By the way, I renew the request of informations about the source of the video, I'm sure I've seen it somewhere but I can't quite remember where.

  • it's from the movie "contact"

  • Thank you dear Sir! :-)

  • Excelent...

    Batiful...

    Very Better...

    Radiohead is luxo!!!!

  • he recorded this at home and you can hear his girlfriend putting the shopping away in the background! how funny is that. he's improvising i think aswell.

  • radiohead and the intro from contract? you win.

  • It makes me cry

  • Comment removed

  • ez csodálatos, nagyon szép

  • az! napra pontosan 9 hónappal vagy idősebb nálam :)

  • Szépszép!

(nálam meg jópár évvel idősebb...:) )

  • The first time I listened to this song, I remember tears coming out of my eyes. I don't remember the last time I cried before that.

  • beautiful

  • love this song. love the video too!

  • una duda casi existencial xD : en qué parte se oye a Rachel lavando los platos?!

  • @radioheadicta en muchas partes de la cancion se oye haciendo ruidos..

  • defeat*

  • i think hes saying i made my millions by giving in, i wasnt as strong, i wasnt much better than i thought, its a song of dfeat, quiet resignation

  • i hope he didnt mean this song as a joke...! lol..I think what he's saying is that for people who idolise money, that it's not all that its made out to be, that you shouldnt be jealous that we all feel the same at the end of it.

  • ah i remember the days i used to cry to this song....

  • The video collaborates nicely with the song, very nice

  • There's something so comforting about this. Like a worldly happiness.

  • Really?! I found the complete opposite, the feeling of smallness was quite unnerving, it made me feel very lonely. Everyone has their own opinion though. :)

    Excellent song and video!

  • I think it depends on your mood. If you have things you are worried about or are upset, it belittles your anxiety and strife and that helps. However if you are happy or proud (for example), it belittles your enjoyment and pride which makes you feel small and insignificant.

  • It's pretty depressing when you can't see the sun anymore around 1:30

  • I've had dreams just like this.....wow!

  • :) thanks, verilymusic. i meant at 0:03. you can hear him depress the damper pedal, then hit the first note, then i thought he whispers "ready." i cranked it up & listened a few times - i think it's just the sound of the piano pedal mechanism.

  • what does he whisper at the very beginning?

  • i was

  • A B-side that is better than some singles. Phenomenal!

  • aye, they seem to have a few of those. ones that come to mind are Talk Show Host, Cuttooth, and True Love Waits.

  • Fog, Maquiladora, Coke Babies, and Faithless the Wonderboy are some of my favorites too

  • este es un b-side de que disco ¿?

  • de 'No Surprises [#1]'

  • gracias!!

  • what single or ep is this off of??? and what ablum is this a b-side of?? I NEED 2 KNOW

  • appear only in "no surprises" single (CD1)... sorry

    try with ares or limewire

  • always my favorite. Legend has it...Thom wrote this late at night just fooling around on his Keyboard while his Girlfriend was making dinner (you can hear her chopping vegetables). The Title and Lyrics work in unison to reflect upon how Thom believes he became famous and successful. The lyrics are disjointed and vague with no concise point.

  • Just my guess... But the lyrics are about thom having had a fight with his girlfriend. And the lyrics seem to tell her girlfriend to move on. But as I said, it's just my guess.

  • na that'd make sense to me. there's something open and ripe to the sound of this song causing people to interpret what they will...but your take makes sense given the lyrics.

  • It's the fact that you cant really make out what he's saying, only catch strains. But thats what i love about it every listener gets their own ideas about what it means, I know I have mine:)

  • I didnt know this song by radiohead....... its.....its.......i cant describe it.The word beautiful is not enough.

  • Majestic, gorgeous...my words fall short. Putting in my will I want this played at my funeral.

  • My good man, I harboured similar funeral music plans until my girlfriend pointed out that it would cause people to remember me as a morbid and self important git. And yes, it is quite indescribable

  • only Thom Yorke could record a song drunk and with such a bad quality and that still so sound beautiful.

BTW, Noel Gallagher is a fucking cunt.

  • What album is this from? It is very good.

  • They haven't released it on a album .. what a shamee!

  • What better mix than Carl Sagan and Radiohead?

  • 0:52 and on is so beautiful.

everytime i listen to this, it gets to me in a way i can't explain...

if there is a god, his gift to us was radiohead haha

  • There probably is NO GOD....stop worrying about the afterlife LOVE the here & now life: respect life

  • Contact

  • Thanks for this,my favourite ever song,with a fantastic visual,very moving.

  • beautiful

  • best radiohead song ever.

  • There is nothing "best"-all good things are equal.

  • that is very true. but this is one of my favourites.

  • this music tell us how infinite we are on our insight, please stop thinking about materialism when our treasure is within us thanx radiohead for everything

  • i swear i cryed after watching this its so beatiful, Viva la Radiohead/tom!...this song reminds me of videotape and like spinning plates but its better

  • how pure is this guy man tom yorke and radiohead are the best musican's ever they are actual gods. Radiohead is like my religion beatuy life meaning truth dark/light right/wrong all comprossed into one band and one man .... Btw this video fits the song perfectly! good job!

  • thom yorke is my deity

  • love this video

  • try Air Traffic, "Empty Space" very haunting

  • I try really hard to broaden my variety of music, and compared to most people it's pretty wide. But when it comes down to it I always go back to rafiohead evreytime no band compares to them

  • same here.

  • The. best. band. in. the. world.

  • La melodía que fabrica Thom Yorke en esta canción es impresionante, pone los vellos de punta.

  • What a great song...

You can check my cover of it, on my channel!

    Martin

  • tom yorke is good, LoVe RaDiOhEaD....4ever

  • that is a great song!

  • there are no words that can sum up the talent and raw emotion that is Radiohead....

  • radiohead, radiohead, radiohead, RADIOHEAD, RADIOHEAD!!

  • this is by far the best music video ive ever seen,

and the most beautiful song ive ever heard, next to the theme from AMerican Beauty...

  • I agree!!! lol

  • thom yorke you are god.

im probably the only 11 yr old at my school who loves radiohead. everyone else is like "o my god the jonas brothers''

  • good for you, i wish i had as good musical taste as you when i was 11

  • Hah cool guy. Seriously, we need more kids like you

  • thats amazing

  • this may sound really emo lol but dont u think that there is no point to life when u see something like that

i mean like how small and pointless we are compared to everything else in size ratio lol

  • of course.

Christianity, Islam, etc. are reflections of the egotism of the human race.

We are no more than a grain of sand on a beach the size of the world.

  • We are much less than that.

  • yeah.... really puts all those stupid, trivial dramas to shame when you see something like this.

  • big radiohead fan i love this song.the video just fits the song so well

  • I just love this song.

Check out my cover, recorded live!

    Hope you'll like it...

    Martin

  • I'm speechless

  • I was stronger I was better Picked you out Now don't say a word No don't yell out Never mind Let you out Ledyou back Stay on Sit down Let it fall Let it fall Let it fall Let it fall
  • Just too beautyful,I want to cry

  • i heard once that thom recorded this song using a minidisc player over his piano.

but as a rh song says "I Might Be Wrong".

  • "You"...are right, you can hear his wife chopping vegetables in the backround.

  • I made my millions drifting all over the universe of the human unconsciousness

  • yeah, those "drums" are his wife doing the dishes.

  • Well, I actually think that How I made my millions and videotape don't really sound alike. Any simillarities between the drumming sounds are purely coincidental because the "drumming sounds" in How I made my millions are just background noise. By the way, I think the mood the two songs create are very different. How I made my millions kind of creates a lonely empty-space kind of feeling while Videotape creates a kind of between life and death mood.

  • Yeah I gotta agree with: 'lonely empty-space kind of feeling while Videotape creates a kind of between life and death mood. '

The drum loop on videotape is there for a specific reason (reminds me of a projector reel ending), but probably a coincidental similarity to this track.

  • Has anyone noticed the similarities to this and the album version of videotape? The drum sound that loops is somewhat similar in effect to the sound on this song (*which is Thoms bird at the time washing up apparently). Maybe this is a coincidence and I am over thinking, but to put that loop into a beautiful song for no reason is not very Radiohead-esque.

    What do you lot think?

  • I love the indecipherable lyrics cos u can make what u want out of them, hear what u want to hear, it becomes like interactive music. the more sparse something is the more room for yr imagination

  • awesome job with the video!

    fits the song very well

i was so lucky, i got both no surprises singles at a record store for only a couple bucks!!

palo alto and this song are 2 of their very best songs!

    thanks again

  • Beautiful song and video.

  • Thom from the great beyond....yeah thats a good image

  • thom yorke transmitting out into the beyond is a great idea, i love it. way to point that out. awesome video

  • Methinks its more a case of "I made my millions being slightly incomprehensible". But the music is still powerful, the lyrics I can't remember really, but it starts with "I was stronger, I was better". It's not a piss-take song though.....I'm pretty sure...

  • Oye gran dato..no sabia que era Rachel lavando los platos... amo esta canción y no sabia eso xD

  • great choice of video

  • :( feeling
