My kit just arrived and I wanted to know when your picking your mushies, do you use latex gloves and rubbing alcohol? or do you just wash your hands and pick them? sorry to bother but I just wanna make sure I do everything right and that I don't contaminate the kit or for the other flushes.

Man, these mushrooms are bogus, not even worth eating. I want the particular mushroom called Psilocybe Semilanceata, but the only grow kits I can find are always the Cubensis species. Do you know if, and how, I could grow them from spores? Or would I have to go out and actually dig out the fungus itself? thx

light is of little importance, all it does is show the mushroom which way to grow -stretch, temp varies from stages, incubation- 82 degrees, hotter the faster but more likely to contam up, fruiting - 78 degrees 98% humidity.

@bornrider7 You need to follow the directions to a T, You wont need to ever have to water them because when they are in those plactic bags it creates like a greenhouse effect so trust me there will be plenty of moisture n the bags eventually after a few days you should never ever water&NEVER EVER OPEN YOUR BAGS for any reason other than to make the transfer to your second bag to eventually fruit in or any other reason to open the bag would be to pick em, follow these rules&u wont have any probs.

when spores touch the bottom it makes more grow the next flush better or have no effect and they get bigger and you get more shrooms. I grow them without kits and i get a lot more than that with a lot less money

@MrCrazydukefan222 Id say its fairly easy, ive had 2 kits so far and both times the turn out really good and i have no mushroom growing experience. They really dont need hardly any light, heck the light from your room lighting would be enough light!!! Id just kept mine on a shelf by the back door hidden behind couple boxes and worked just fine, id wouldnt recommend keepn it in complete darkness but you definitly wont need a grow light or anything of that nature!!

@FuckingAngeldust Well if its the first stage where the spore are in the grain it can take up to 3 weeks to a month to start to see growth!!! You will just have to let it sit and do its thing, it gets kinda nerve rackin especially if you check it everyday because you start to think nothings going to happen, it just takes time!!!

@FuckingAngeldust It sounds like its in a decent spot and dont open the bag at all cost and trust me it wont dry out, if you set it next to a window where sun can shine on it, it should build up moisture on the inside of the bag kinda like a greeenhouse!!!
